Lulu was running away from them. It was night, and the Djélink architects were reshaping the city of Djénné for a big event the next day. It was mesmerizing to watch, like seeing melting ice cream flowing from one bowl to another. Nights like this were when the Omoirun would come out to kidnap children and enroll them in their dangerous Fighter of the Comb program.

Unfortunately, Lulu was spotted by one of the Omoirun, who were surprisingly younger than he had imagined. You might think Lulu was running away because he feared what they would do to him, but he was more afraid of what he himself might do to them. He ran and ran, but eventually, they cornered him.

If Lulu fell asleep, the giant would awaken. Fortunately, these kids didn't seem strong enough to knock him unconscious. Lulu tried to explain the situation, but they laughed in his face. Eventually, one of the kids struck Lulu with a rapid blow, leaving him no chance to defend himself. Lulu fell unconscious, and the Omoirun took him to their school, away from the rest of the world.
