Opening their eyes they seen that the Slimes were still hopping about happily. The green hues from the trees was nice, it felt calming to be out here. This place must be a haven for Slimes, no worries. The little ones bouncing about happily was enjoyable.

As long as they were far away from them.

Cracking was soon heard and the Slimes ran towards them, confused they focused on where the sound was coming from. Through the shadows of the trees in the distance was something walking. The Slimes hid behind them shaking. The little Slimes look in horror and soon the shadow creature walked away.

It was strange that the Slimes would hide behind them for protection, they can’t really do anything as much as these Slimes could. What was different?

“Are they gone, Mr. Untamable?” one of the little Blue Slimes asked.

“Seems like they were passing by,” they answered and the Slimes went back to squishing about happily.

“Mr. Untamable, do you think they’ll be back?” the little Purple Slime asked.

“Not sure.”

“Will you protect us when they do come back?” Purple Slime asked.

“I can’t do much either...” looking at the little Slime they could see hope in them soon fading away. “I can try my best.”

“Yay~ Thank you, Mr. Untamable!” the Purple Slime bounced away happily.

“We ran to you because you seem brave,” one of the larger Slimes said. “Not many Slimes here are as brave as you. You don’t run from anything, you’re not even worried when trouble comes near. We’ll put our trust in you, please keep us safe, Untamable.”

‘Great, now I have a herd of Slimes to Protect. What can I do?’ Looking into their Skills it seems not much has changed, the Skill Points say that they were locked and no weapons to speak of. ‘Well, not much I can do. Just hope that it remains peaceful.’

Untamable snuggled to the tree and closed their eyes once again.

Screaming.

Crackling.

Screaming.

Nothing but Screaming could be heard now.

Make it stop.

Stop.

Opening their eyes they look around for any sort of distress.

“What is it Mr. Untamable?” a medium sized Purple Slime squished up to them.

“Nothing.”

“Thank you for checking up on us, we’re doing fine. Some of us know how to fight now, please rest Mr. Untamable.”

“Hmm, aren’t you that little Purple Slime from before?”

“That was months ago, Mr. Untamable.”

“Months?” The shock of sleeping for so long, it almost didn’t sound like them.

“Don’t worry, we know you protect us when we sleep. It’s the reason why you sleep all day, isn’t it?”

“...Yes,” they lied. Purple Slime smiled and squished about like the rest. An older Slime made it’s way to them.

“I’ve been awake during the night, I know that you truly sleep during those times too. Don’t worry I’ve told everyone that you were awake during the nights.”

“I’m sorry...” it felt horrible for lying to the young and to have that lie through this Slime.

“Don’t be, you’ve had a rough upbringing. While everyone is free to roam about you have to stay in that one spot. What better way to pass the time than to sleep? And if nothing bad happens then even more reason to.” It’s true, they can’t really move from this spot. To think that these Slimes were aware of their predicament, it was strange that they were so smart.

“I didn’t mean to sleep for so long.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll protect you and each other. Just rest and gather your energy for a much bigger enemy. We can take it from here.” A much bigger enemy? What could they do if they were stationed in this single spot?

“You're the one that said I was Brave.”

“Yes, thank you for remembering us. It means a lot to know that we are valued.” Valued? By a single Slime that sleeps for months on end? They truly think that they are special, special for staying in one place, sleeps and does nothing more than speak a few words to them. Were those Slimes easily forgotten by other Slimes?

“Am I the only Named Slime here?”

“Yes, because you are special. Out of every colored Slime here you are the only one that’s Green.” Looking at the other Slimes it was true there was still no Green Slime in sight. What did color have to do with anything? Other than being Named and having Skill Points what else made them special?

“I’ll put my trust in all of you. Please keep us safe,” they said and the other Slime nodded and went about their rounds. They took the time to look into their Skill Points and it seems it was still locked aside from the 5 that now appeared then disappeared.

Looking into Mail showed no results in where the Points went and there were no notifications on where they could be. Going back to Skills they decided to give a thorough look though on what was happening to the points.

Turns out it was going into their Stats after glancing at the tree.

It seems like nothing much has changed, just points going into Stats. Would it go into the Skill Tree?

It seems more important to gain more skills than to raise stats.

Feeling a slight pain they decided that it wasn’t worth thinking about and to just do the bare minimum as much as possible.

The Old Slime repeated its words before Merging with them once more.

Strange, this is all very strange. There’s no use thinking about it anymore, the other Slimes are a little restless now. Yawning, they settled down once more to sleep for who knows how long now.

I remember...

It all happened...

Looking around wondering what was happening. It was peaceful, dark but peaceful. The few Slimes awake were watching over the sleeping ones. They turned and noticed that they were awake.

“Mr. Untamable, you checking on us again? Thank you,” they looked dark in color but the voice was still recognizable. It was the little Purple Slime!

“You grew again.”

“Yes, we are doing well for ourselves, the monsters are getting closer though. And growing in numbers. Do you think that they’ll reach us? Not that we can’t fight them off haha, I mean I won against a Level 2 W01f not too long ago.” The word Wolf glitched as she spoke it.

“I’m not sure, if they are making progress here then they are looking for something. As for what...” looking at the other Slime the same look they had long ago appeared. They couldn’t tell the other Slime that they were mostly being used for EXP for PLAYERS. “The best we can do is train more Slimes.”

“We can handle that, we’ll try and get stronger. Mr. Untamable, thank you for encouraging us. Having you here makes us want to work harder.”

“Um...”

“Don’t worry everyone still believes that you are awake protecting us at night. Only very few of us know what really happens.”

“Hmm.”

“Please don’t worry, rest all you want. Getting out of Survival Mode is difficult and long but worth it. You’ve fought many battles before creating this place for us, it’s our turn to protect you and make your time here restful.” Seems like the lies only continue to grow, either that or the Slimes decided that on their own.

“If you insist, but I’ll be staying up for a bit just to make sure.”

“Of course!” The Purple Slime went back to their guard duty while they checked the Skills. It seems some of the skills Maxed out and are onto the next Skill Unlock.

Was the Skill Points just piling up? Or was there enough to Upgrade the Skill? Well, if this Glitch is still active the next time they wake up they better get something good. The other Slimes here have everything under control so best to leave it to them for now.

Calmness after hearing frantic screaming and panic running. It was nothing but the silence they first heard when they first opened their eyes.
