Chapter 13.
¿Strange?.
When they reached the kitchen of the property, he had left the tea set up, because he really didn't feel well and had a sea of thoughts and criticisms that wouldn't go away from his thoughts, maybe Muriel should admit in front of everyone that he was also afraid of the Beast and couldn't keep it at bay, because that had been the threat that had long led him to position himself as he was today...
The girl in front of him also seemed to be in another world, she didn't speak, nor did she look at him... she simply had one of her fingers biting her nails, maybe what had happened to her also affected him; ¿Would it be possible that they were unconsciously sharing the same burden?,If so, she would be something much more than a lover on duty, so Muriel served her a cup of tea and she thanked him in a practically silent whisper, the man sat in front of her with an identical cup and then asked her: ¿do you want to talk about your nightmare?, Maybe I can help you dispel it from your mind but she simply told him that it was nothing out of this world, simply that she missed her parents and her younger sister and she had thought she saw them standing in front of the window, that they were only her imaginations in the dreamlike state of sleep, to which he said I understand, but it is not prudent for the moments that you see them, let the tension of the town decrease entirely and maybe I will think about letting you see them again; she gave him a slightly nervous smile, almost as if saying: you are a liar, but I will believe your lies… Both continued in silence and the tea was practically getting cold, as the discomfort that existed between them was evident even though they were face to face... the distance seemed to be very long and the wait eternal, he practically drank the tea without her realizing it, when her gaze suddenly stopped at one of the entrances from the servants' room to the kitchen, because there looking at her face to face and intensely was Bastian, which made her a little more nervous... it was as if she were in front of her stalker and her murderer at the same time and in the same place, but without either of them knowing it, so in one gulp she drank all the tea and began to cough because her body did not expect her to take such a measure in one gulp, Muriel practically came out of her thoughts and asked her if she had burned herself and she told him no, only that her throat was dry and that had made her cough, then she said goodbye and got up leaving there with hurried steps... Muriel did not give it much importance and stayed deep in thought, but Bastian followed her down another route; and as she was about to climb the stairs to the room she was occupying, he grabbed her wrist with a little pressure and asked her if she was okay, she tensed completely, looked back, and upon seeing him told him to disappear from her surroundings and not come near her again, but he answered firmly that she could not decide about him, then she tensed her whole body and looked at him harshly and resentfully and said: look at yourself, you are a Beast, you will never be human nor can you integrate into society, you are just a monster thirsty for fresh meat, you are more animal than anything that inhabits this world, so go away and disappear from my sight, I do not like any Beast interrupting my sleep, to which he replied: I am not a Beast and my name is Bastian, but she told him: I do not care what your name is, just get out of my sight and let me sleep, I do not like my sleep to be interrupted, she pulled out of his grip and continued with long strides to the bottom of the stairs then she turned to look back, and there was the Beast staring at her as if he were studying her, so she gave him the middle finger and entered the room.
