Lee woke up with the sun in his eyes. Yawning he sat up and looked around for Cypress. He saw him sitting in a tree on a thick lower branch eating some berries. Good morning Cypress said jumping down you hungry. Yes Lee said climbing to his feet and taking a few berries. I promised to show you what they did to me in the labs Cypress said if you still want to know. Lee nodded curiously. Alright Cypress said unzipping his bodysuit. The zipper went all the way to his lower back and once he unzipped it he tied the sleeves back and tucked them in so it looked like he was just wearing regular pants. Lee's face got a little pink as he watched. Cypress gestured for Lee to come closer so he could see. Well what do you think Cypress asked as Lee came over to him. Lee could see Cypress's bones through his skin and several nasty scars ran down his back arms and torso. I healed all my wounds so they don't look as bad as they would have if they'd healed on their own Cypress said also there are more on my legs too if you want to see those as well. Lee stared at him in horror. Uh... You good Cypress asked. Was it... Did... My mother... Did she do this Lee asked dropping to the ground. Yeah most of them anyway Cypress said sitting next to him. Suddenly Lee grabbed Cypress's jaw to see the four small scars twisted across his face. He flinched. At least one of those was my own doing Cypress said when Lee let go of him. Lee looked at him worriedly. On accident of course Cypress said quickly. I can't believe my mother would do this to another person Lee sighed. To be fair she doesn't exactly view me as a person Cypress said she sees me more as a monster or wild animal. Just because you have some fins Lee asked it just doesn't make sense. How come Cypress asked looking away you saw me the same way when we first met, you even called me a monster. Lee didn't know what to say cause he knew it was true. We should get going Cypress said eventually standing up and zipping up his bodysuit. As they walked through the woods they played around and talked normally but Lee still couldn't get Cypress's words out of his mind as they repeated over and over for hours.
