The director shouted cut and Jax immediately wiped the tears in his eyes. He walked to the water station and drank a cup of water. Sebastian followed him.
"Are you okay, Jax?" Sebastian asked.
"Yeah. Why?" Jax smiled.
"Your acting just seemed too realistic. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Isn't it the rule in acting to get yourself lost in the character?"
"But it didn't seem like that. It seemed like you got lost in your own self."
Jax was taken aback. Was he that obvious?
Jax chuckled. "You're just overthinking things."
The two continued their conversation while a pair of eyes were glued on them. Jax remained oblivious to this fact, but Sebastian felt its intensity. He knew whose eyes were looking at them.
While preparing for the next scene, Micah had his eyes on Sebastian and Jax. He didn't mind that they were talking to each other. He was preoccupied with Jax's crying face. But he did mind when a few seconds later, Sebastian put his arm on Jax's waist and dragged him somewhere he could not see while shooting a smirk at him.
Micah knew what Sebastian was doing.
Micah's scenes were shot very well. He received praises. It was all because he could not wait to get out of the pool area and look for Jax.
The first place he went to was where he saw them disappear. But they weren't there. He looked in other places but there will still no signs of Jax. Micah started to grow impatient.
Where are they? What are they doing? These thoughts filled Micah's head as his steps became heavier, his scole became more evident.
Not finding Jax anywhere, Micah went to his room. He opened the door and was going to bang it loudly when he saw Jax on the bex, playing with his phone.
"You're here," Micah said.
Jax looked at him and rose up from the bed. He then walked towards the door. Micah got a hold of his hand.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
Without looking at him, Jax replied, "I forgot something downstairs."
"What did you forget?"
"It's nothing important."
"Then why do you need to get it? Stay here." Micah tightened his grip.
"The director told me to go downstairs. She wants to talk about a scene."
"Then why did you lie in the beginning?"
"She said not to tell anyone because I have to do something in a scene to generate a real reactions from the other actors, including you. But you already know so I hope you won't tell anyone."
Jax whisked Micah's hand away and left. Micah didn't like how Jax talked to him. It was too distant.
He laid on the bed and closed his eyes. He thought about what has been happening lately. He didn't like the recent happenings. But what he disliked even more was his reaction. Why was he so affected? Why was he acting this way?
His mother's face flashed in his mind. And he was reminded of the reason why he started.
He sat up and told himself, "It's simply because Jax is the right one for my dynasty."
It was around 7 in the evening when Micah decided to go downstairs to eat dinner. When he arrived in the dining hall, he was greeted by the sight of Jax and Sebastian eating together. He frowned.
He got his own food and went to their table. He sat across Jax.
"Why didn't you tell me the dinner's ready, babe?" Micah smiled.
Jax stood up. "I need to go to the restroom."
With Micah and Sebastian left there, Micah didn't have to fake a smile.
"Sebastian, let's not touch other people's things. Let's keep our hands to ourselves."
"Don't worry, Mr. Micah. I'm not touching other people's things. Something isn't your just because it's bound by a contract."
"Did Jax tell you about the contract?"
Sebastian just smiled.
Micah went to the restroom and looked for Jax. When Jax finished drying his hands and saw Micah, he looked away and said, "I forgot to take my medicine."
"You don't take any medicine, Jax. You're not avoiding me this time."
"What is it? What do you want to talk about?"
"Why did you tell Sebastian about the contract?"
Jax frowned. "I didn't tell him anything."
"Then why does he know?"
"I don't know either. But I never said anything about the contract to him."
"Alright. Let's say you didn't tell him."
"I really didn't tell him," Jax insisted.
Micah knew that Jax was telling the truth. Sebastian must just have wanted to hit his nerves. But he didn't like that someone else, especially Sebastian, knew about it.
"No need to get so worked up. Just calm down. Let's move to the next agenda. Why are you avoiding me, Jax?"
Jax replied with a small voice. "I'm not avoiding you."
"Don't lie. You know you can't lie to me. So why are you avoiding me?"
Jax sighed. "I'm trying to sort things out. I'm trying to stop my feelings. They're not doing us any good. Look at what's happening to the fan service. I can't do my part in the contract because of these feelings. So I'm trying to stop them so I can go back to acting as your boyfriend. Just give me a week and they'll be gone. It's just a crush, not something deep like love. It's gonna go away soon. So just give me a week."
"No," Micah responded. "Continue feeling your feelings. It'll make our fan service more realistic."
Jax frowned. "But it's gonna be at the cost of myself, Micah. That's unfair. Also, I acted as your boyfriend pretty well when I didn't have any feelings for you yet. So that won't be a problem."
"Isn't it the rule in acting to get lost in your character? So get lost in those feelings, Jax."
"But my feelings will get stronger. Do you want me to get obsessed with you?"
Micah crossed his arms. "I'll make sure that won't happen. We can't be together."
"Then let me sort these feelings first. I won't hurt your career. I will act as the best boyfriend ever. I promise," Jax said.
"No. Don't make me say that word again. I hate saying the same thing for the third time."
Looking at this Micah, Jax confirmed that Ray was right. He fell for the bad-guy-turned-good trap. He fell for a delusion. This was the real Micah.
"Okay," Jax replied.
Micah smiled. "Let's go and finish eating, babe."
Jax decided to sort things out without Micah's knowledge. These feelings really had to go away fast. Jax didn't like how he was harboring feelings for someone like Micah. Micah was selfish. He wasn't capable of love.
