Then the microbe evolved and reproduced another life forms according to its genetics. The so called monster aliens were born out of this phenomenon.

Lance did not blink as he watched the indominable life forms of monster aliens appear before him.

"Are these the infested alien species?"

[Yes. They are the natural enemy of every living species. The mecha alien species lost the battle, and their world was destroyed. Now they retreat and plan to take over the humans and make Earth their planet. These infested alien species came after them.]

"So humans are pitted between the battle of two different alien species?"

[More than pitted, 'used' is the most perfect term to describe the current position of humans in these circumstances.]

Then Lance remembered that this person called him 'Suit'. Lance already understands the matters between these two opposing aliens. However, he still could not comprehend why he and his teammates were called 'Suits' and why the military brainwashed them.

Lance opened his mouth to ask, but before the words were uttered, the person had already changed the scenery on the screen and showed him the answer.

[A few years later, the mecha alien species have already copied your human genes, and their body composition transitioned to the likes of a human body. The current military personnel, from the highest position to the ordinary soldiers, are no longer humans.]

"So every NPC I met is not human?"

[Yes. But you, your teammates, and the 'Suits' reproduced by the mecha alien species have retained a part of your humanity]

The scenes displayed on the screen are a live camera feed from the inside of a laboratory. The room is wide and spacious. It was dimly lit with only blue lights. However, thousands of giant tubes lined up, taking up almost all the space inside the room. Inside the giant tubes are human bodies, with water filling up the tubes to the brim.

"Are these…." Lance's eyes widened at the sight. There are at least hundreds of people trapped inside the tube. It was like all of them were comatose. They are breathing because of the respiratory aid placed on their mouths. Still, other than that, they all look like dead bodies preserved in laboratories for students to study anatomy.

[The mecha alien species discovered that mixing their genes with humans will force human DNA to evolve. In which you will gain the ability to control the forces of nature.]

"So they conducted human experiments on us so that we could gain supernatural abilities?"

[That is correct.]

[But the price is that your human bodies could not hold out for long and your genes will self destruct after two years.]

Then the person showed him the process of how the experiment of humans was done. Starting from the very beginning.

The military personnels, right after the infested alien species spread its black life killing fluid, they separate the chosen humans and those they will put to death.

Almost half of the human continent was consumed by the infested alien species. All life forms were killed. The military personnel, to protect the other half of the continent, created a boundary that separates the infected continent from them. Then they built military fortresses on these boundaries.

But the mecha alien species found a big problem. None of them could withstand the corruption when their skin come in contact with the black fluid produced by the infested alien species. What's even more alarming, are the forces of the infested alien species. Cores started to form and produce life forms mold from the black fluid.

At each passing second, the core can produce up to one hundred species. The more the mecha alien species left it alone, the more dangerous the species are created in.

It took almost a month for the infested alien species to scatter and devour half of the human continent. The cores have appeared in all parts of the corrupted land. breeding more monsters and unspeakable alien species.
The mecha alien species were horrified at the rapid speed of how the infested alien breed. They research and come up with various ways to suppress their mortal enemy.

They collected samples from the black fluid, but it seems nothing good came out of it. A single drop of black fluid will corrode anything it came into contact with.

The test tubes, containers and other equipments humans used for experiments could not contain the black fluid.
The mecha alien species did not give up. They brought a dead body of a monster alien created by the core. But it was useless. The monster not only caused the whole laboratory to collapse, it also killed hundreds of mecha alien species when it was held captive.

The mecha alien species finally see the huge crisis smiling down at their pale faces. Their research won't lead to anything. It's like wandering in a strange city and could not find the right way out because of the unexpected wall obstacles.

They gritted their teeths and propose ideas after ideas. Trying everything out. It's better to fail and try again than to do nothing while their enemies are rapidly increasing in numbers.

It wasn't until another month later that an uninfected human knock in their doors to shed shelter.
The mecha alien species were shocked to find out that a human managed to survive the harsh condition on the outside world.

However, this particular human is on the brink of death. The mecha alien species decided to spare him. Not out of goodwill but to use him as a test subject.

How could they utilized a human body? Is there a way for them to strengthen the sheer strength of humans that will be able to defend against the dangerous corruption of the infested alien species?

What substance should they add in the human body for it to reach its peak of evolution? The mecha alien species were tempted to try the black fluid from the infested alien species. But they soon abandon the idea. They don't want what happened right after they capture the monster alien to happen again.

For months they did not stop their experiments. The human they use as scapegoat was barely alive due to their experiments.

It wasn't until they came across the lay out of human DNA did they notice a pattern that contradicts the arrangement of the human DNA they copied years ago. And this lay out can be rearranged, not to mention the sequence can be jumbled out. They can fill in some gaps. Add genes that was their own and try to combined the two.

It took fifty trials before the experiment yield result. It was an unprecedented success. None of them could have guessed that the human genes are very compatible with their genes. This caused the hormonal balance of the human bodies to heightened. Their physical strength and mental strength also improved significantly.

Using their mind, the newly experimented humans can control a certain element in the surrounding. It's still being determined what element can complement the newly experimented humans.

But the mecha alien species were overjoyed. Their efforts finally bore fruits! They can finally eliminate those insufferable infested alien species!

The mecha alien species took away the will of these humans and decided to name them 'Suits'. They controlled their consciousness to attack the monster aliens using their newly realized powers and destroy the monster cores.

They have already invented the nullifier that can dissolve the black fluid. They even used a monster alien's core to charged up the nullifier and eliminate a breeding place of monster aliens.

On the first month, the mecha alien base send out one hundred batch of 'Suits' to purge the monster aliens.
Each have done their job well. However, the 'Suits' human bodies became sluggish as time went on. Their limbs were slow to respond when the mecha alien species who controlled them would sent an order to eliminate the monster aliens.

Some have even visibly weakened that right on the black fluid errosion, the human body disintegrated on the spot.

After watching this narrative, Lance finally figured it out.

Why he and his teammates were made to believe that this world is a VR Game and the illusionary world is their reality.

It was because to prevent them from dying too early.

Just like a soldier, no one in their right mind would march around a deserted land if they knew that their bodies will blow off the moment they step foot on the landmines hidden deep in the ground.

It is also proven that mindless controlling of puppets will shorten their lifespan. Why else did the mecha alien species abandon their hosts and generated a new body of their own?

The scenes that followed are the caravan of soldiers crossing barren land using armor cars and trucks.
