-It's been a slow but fun process, as the family adopted dogs, cats, fishes and even a raccoon together over a decade. Nomatter what they found time to be together and forward their interests and pursuits-
Rock personally has built a huge amount of cash over time: thanks to technology and better decisions he's making, he has a decent nest-egg and alot more is incoming. But one faithful day, Rock finishes watching a Neotube video... "Ah yeah... I forgot.." he thought "I can die again.. what have I really done in this life?.." . Rock looks around: yeah he's a little-known indi game developer and he actually has alot more money than what he ever had in his previous life, but he doesn't have any real friends.. Rock then realizes that he truly feels all alone outside of his new family, and nobody he talked to was at all in synch with him.. "At 16 I already had a friend group.. granted I could barely speak to anyone, but I had friends..things were different.. but I liked that feeling of having people who cared about me and seeing how happy some were when I was finally able to reciprocate their feelings... but I never really got along with anyone in this new life. Everybody feels ...empty here.." Rock realizes, his mother walked by and read his tablet screen: "`Live like it's your last day`", she laughs and asks "What made you look at that?". " I ..was just trying to watch something to help me do whatever I need to push forward in my games and junk.. I'm going forward, but it didn't go like I thought it would.." he answers with a nervous tone. "Well it doesn't matter: don't push too hard or you'll make a decision you aren't ready to, you can stay here however long you want. All of you can!!" Maria assures him and continued to do chores. Rock was freaking out despite hearing this: he wanted to do bettPter in this life, not just coast while others made decisions again.
Weeks later though he somewhat fell into a rut again..(something he started to become aware of) until his mother reminded him one day "Oh yeah, I called Johan. He said we could go to get Anthe's order today!". "Oh.. I'm going too, then!" Rock replies, slightly surprising his mother: Rock was a homebody, but he seemed very willing to drop everything--gamedesign, today. A hour later, he, his sister, mother and uncle are going to Palace-Chicken in the uncle's car. Rock sighs as he looks out the car window: he could've just taken Anthe himself if he knew how to drive, but was still uninterested in learning how to and owning a car due to his previous life. Rock sighs as he stares at his phone too: "I don't know alotta peopke I don't need this either..m" he realizes. They then stopped at the restaurant and he, Maria and Anthe went into the place. "So what do we do?" Rock asks quietly as they enter the VERY small building (it was filled with the latest technology, and some customers but was freakisly tiny) Maria assures him "Nothing, I got it. Just stand by Anthe.". He obeys his mother and stood by her a mere 10ft away from her and the counter/drive-by window, by the otheer windows. "Geez, they can afford this computers and junk in here, but the chairs are just wood?!" Rock laughs quietly, "They didn't know how to budget money, or they wouldn't of had a cardboard box for a restaurant." Anthe replies jokingly, he quietly laughs until she adds "They probably wasted too much on hiring knuckleheads who couldn't read orders too!". Rock covered his mouth so no one would hear him: they were there because she ordered a chicken dinner with many sides, and Palace Chicken didn't do half of the order. It's then Anthe told him "Hey, she's looking at you..", Rock looks at the entrance: there was another mother and her daughter: the girl looks back at her phone when he looks at her. "She just h...." he starts to joke but remembers she might not be his age: since the family was short, Rock was and people he thought were adults were kids. "It's not fair, she probably thinks Imma kid with his mother, just like she seems like just another adult with their parent like me and Anthe are." Rock realizes.. "This was easier to tell back in the other earth.." . Rock then noticed the cashier: after Maria told her about the order mishap she angrily left the kitchen to get the manager "I don't believe this!" she grumbled. So he walks up to his mother "Everything OK?" he wonders, Maria replies "She's a rude lady, it's not our fault THEY messed up. It's like she thinks she owns all the chicken here!". Rock goes to Anthe and tells her what's happening, "Wha???! Why is SHE mad? THEY messed up the o..." his sis starts, when they both noticed a very large woman who almost reached the 6'9ft high roof. The Cashier was completely quiet, and the cook gave Maria their food, Rock helped with the bags and they left the building...
As soon as they get in the car, she tells the uncle: "That cashier thinks she owns all the food, she did NOT want to give us back anything!" Maria says, Johan replies "I got one better: you noticed that car we parked by?". His sister replies " Yeah?", "We're in the only parking space here: she parked on the ramp!" he revealed: they laughed while he pulled out of the small parking lot
The group went into the Rosey the Discount store, Rock stares at the storefront before entering it: "I remember this place from the last Earth, it was called: Rosez, and was basically the same as this. It looks like they're more successful here though, it's much more bigger...and it's very clean.." Rock realizes. Then he, Anthe, Maria and Johan split up. Rock looks at the blankets and pillows, things like this were always something he thought he needed before, but never did.. he started thinking back..up until he noticed the candy! "Ah! I have money now! It never occured to me I could splurge now!" Rock thought as he ran around the store! Then he checked his wallet: only huge bills were inside "Dammit, I don't want to awkwardly wait while the cashier split this.. I know!" Rock runs to Anthe "Do you have smaller bills?" he asks, "Eh... no." she replies looking into her purse "What did you see?". "Lemme show you!" Rock says and leads her to the candy aisles! "Ah, look at all this!" the somewhat overworked woman exclaimed, and she rushed around that part of the store, the siblings checked out everything they had but.............. in the end it didn't even mater.... because she only bought some white chocolate soda, and Rock instinctively didn't buy anything. And so despite everything they saw and wanted, both chose to only get the soda
Johan brought them back to their parents' home, as he knew the kids constantly visited them. Proving him right: Disk and Jazz cane outside to greet their mother. "Tell your mom to use the bathroom before she goes anywhere with me, she yapped the whole time about it!" Johan laughed, "Haha!" the twins laughs too. After he leaves, Rock reveals as they walked back to their home: "Anthe didn't want to buy anything even though she always complain about eatin' and junk. She literally acted like a wind-up toy and fell over!". Disk laughed "Don't make bully her, she was tired!", Jazz agreed though with Rock "Yeah, she has a habit of getting excited but not doing anything!". Anthe replies with a giggle "Shut up! Rock didn't buy anything either!", they joked and laughed the rest of the day...
But at the end of the day, Rock lies in bed in a tent beside his parent's home. He sighs as he looks at his tablet and then stares into the dark......."We both could've got something..but didn't.. she got bored.. I...didn't want to spend too much... Now I don't have anything for myself or others..it was OK for me to splurge and I put limits on myself.... money wasn't important, but it's what I could do when I use it. If I die now, I can't use the money....I'll have nothing...... so why was I so worried?... I made the money to spend it..."
-Rock thought about this, it bothered him before he slept, when he woke at 3:00 AM, and the next later when he actually got up.......-
