Kaito holds both hands toward the group of students and begins emitting Spiritual Energy. "Focus on detecting my energy within your bodies. I won't tell you who I'm currently sending energy into, so it'll be up to you to figure it out."
A few seconds pass by before anyone says anything.
"I think it's me!" Amber exclaimed, trying to stay calm. "I can sense it!"
Kaito nods. "Good, now focus and get rid of my energy."
Amber closes her eyes and tries to focus. She struggles to send enough of her Spiritual Energy into the correct position and ultimately fails. "I can't do it!"
Kaito removes his Spiritual Energy. "It was a good first attempt; you'll learn quickly." Kaito raises his hands again. "Alright, next."
Another few seconds go by.
"It's me this time…" Darren whispers.
Noticing the energy entering through his right arm, Darren tries to remove it. After struggling for a bit, he notices that he mistakenly sent his Spiritual Energy to his left arm. "I failed too… sorry…"
"That's okay, Darren. You'll get it next time!" Cygil gives Darren a thumbs-up. "Go ahead and do the next one, Kaito."
Kaito starts again, this time targeting Allen. Even after a full minute, Allen doesn't sense his Spiritual Energy at all.
"Hey Allen, were you unable to sense my energy?"
"What, me? I didn't feel anything at all."
"That's strange… I even put in extra when he didn't notice the initial amount…" Kaito ponders briefly before signaling something to Cygil, who nods and heads back inside.
"What was that about?" Allen asks worryingly. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No, not at all. Let's move on for now."
Allen frowns.
Kaito starts again and targets Kye, who immediately notices Kaito's Spiritual Energy. Focusing as much as possible, Kye removes most of it from his body.
"Hell yeah!" shouts Kye.
Kian gives his brother a high five. "Good job, bro."
"Nicely done, Kye!" says Cygil. "You learn quickly."
After everyone finishes congratulating Kye, Kaito starts sending energy to the next person.
"Seems like it's my turn." says Apollo, sensing Kaito's Spiritual Energy.
Without much of a struggle, Apollo removes all of it.
"Woah, Apollo, you did that easily." Amber says in amazement.
"Have you practiced this before?" Cygil asks.
Apollo shakes his head. "Nope, never."
"Ah, even more impressive! Alright, please continue, Kaito."
"Will do!" Kaito responds, readying himself, "The two of you left; get ready!"
"Right!" Jackson and Kian say in unison.
A few seconds later, Jackson detects the Spiritual Energy. He struggles for a minute or two but also eventually fails.
"Good try, Jackson." says Kaito. "Kian, you're up last."
Kian nods. "I'm ready!"
Kaito begins sending energy into Kian before freezing.
"You okay, Kaito?" asks Cygil.
Suddenly, Kaito breaks out in a cold sweat and falls to the ground.
"Kaito, what's wrong?" Amber shouts.
Cygil quickly grabs his phone and calls for help as the class runs over to the grounded Kaito, who has begun hyperventilating.
"Is he having a heart attack?" asks Jackson.
"What do we do!" Apollo shouts.
"Everyone stay calm; help is on the way! There's no need to panic!" Cygil reassures the class.
"Did I..." Kian stands to the side, feeling somewhat guilty, when suddenly, a red aura begins to leak from his right eye, and he screeches in pain.
"Kian!" shouts Kye. "Your eye!"
"What is happening…" whispers Darren.
Kian falls to his knees, hands over his eyes, when he hears a voice within his head. As he looks up, he sees a giant dark figure standing before him.
"Kian… Carter."
Confused, scared, and in pain, Kian finds enough courage to respond to the unknown voice he heard all those years ago.
"W- Who the hell are you, and what do you want?"
“Do you… want… to save…”
As if there were connection issues in a video game, Kian struggles to understand what the figure is telling him.
“Do you want… to save… your mother…”
"My… mom? How do you know about my mom…"
The figure walks closer to the grounded Kian and kneels beside him. Although he cannot determine who he is talking to, Kian notices a slight red glow in the figure's right eye.
"We will… deal with your… mom later. Now tell me… don't you want… power, Kian."
Kian winces in pain and grabs at his eye.
“Your eye… so it’s already… awakened…”
"Y- you know what's happening to me?"
"Indeed I do… as I… gave it to you."
Kian gets off the ground. "Who the hell are you?"
“I… am a God…”
"A God!? You expect me to believe that crap?!"
"You don't have… to believe me. You'll… find out soon enough."
The voice becomes more apparent, and the figure's eye grows brighter.
"If you want to save your mother, you'll need my power." the figure says sternly.
Kian frowns at hearing his mother being mentioned. "How. How do you know my mom?"
In the blink of an eye, the figure appears behind Kian.
"I already told you. I am a God. I know all of this world. Your mother is alive, and I'll give you the power to save her, but you must prove something to me first."
Kian quickly turns around.
"Yeah, and what's that…"
"Prove your worth to me by killing my loyal follower."
"Your… loyal follower? What the hell are you talking about…"
"Dani Ingram, former teammate of your friend, Kaito."
"Dani? I- I don't even know who or where he is!"
"Don't worry about that. He's heading your way."
"W- what do you mean…"
"More specifically, he's returning to Ticu. To kill Kaito."
"To… kill Kaito? No way, he wouldn't do that!"
"How are you so sure? Didn't you say you don't know him?"
"Why would he kill his old friend… It makes no sense."
"Why? Well, because I told him to. He must prove himself to me if he wants more power."
"Are you insane!?" Kian grunts.
In two days, Dani will arrive looking for Kaito. If you can stop him, I'll tell you where your mom is."
"What am I supposed to do?!"
"Who cares? Gather people to help you. But I will not help you save your mother if you tell anyone about this conversation. Do you understand?"
The figure's voice begins to cut out again.
"I'll be going now… don't worry, no one knows we spoke… in fact… you're already in the hospital. Don't disappoint me… Kian."
The figure fades away, and just like the voice said, Kian wakes up in the hospital accompanied by Kye and Jackson.
"Kian, you're awake!" says Kye.
"You alright?" asks Jackson, "You scared us quite a bit."
"Uh yeah, I'm fine. How's Kaito?"
"Kaito's okay now. The doctor said it was a nonsevere heart attack. He'll be cleared to leave tomorrow." Jackson explains. "As for you, the doctor didn't find anything wrong with you."
"She said that maybe it was due to your large amount of Spiritual Energy. Whenever she comes back, you should be cleared to go." Kye adds. "Are you sure you're okay, though?"
"Yeah, sorry. I'm not sure what happened; I just blacked out suddenly."
"What was up with your eye?" Jackson asks, "I noticed it started to glow red before you passed out, but it's completely normal now."
Kian puts his hand over his right eye.
"It was like back then…" Kye frowns and sits on the hospital bed next to his brother. "Do you think your Trait is coming in?"
"Who knows." Kian rubs on his head. "But if it's gonna give me a bad headache like this, I don't want it."
"So this has happened to you before?" asks Jackson.
"Just once, a long time ago…" Kye responds, "I'll tell you the story later. For now, we should let Kian get some rest."
Kye pats his brother on the shoulder before standing up.
"Right, we'll tell the doctor you're awake now. See you later, Kian!"
"Bye guys, thanks for checking on me."
Jackson and Kye wave goodbye and leave the room.
"A God, huh?" Kian sighs deeply and puts his hand back over his eye. "If mom is alive, I have to save her… no matter what."
