The next day, Freyr woke up and saw it was 6 in the morning in the real world and his dimensional farm. The sun was out still. He didn’t know if there was nighttime in this dimensional farm…
Still, he washed his face and looked around for food but he didn’t see any. He wasn’t that hungry either, so he felt it wouldn’t hurt to skip some meals.
Freyr didn’t know this until he woke up, but the reason he wasn’t hungry was because his body in the real world was getting fed by feeding tubes. Still, this worked in his favor because he could farm and explore the dimensional farm that was given to him.
When he walked to his newly planted garden, he saw all of his plants had sprouted. Even the carrots looked like they would be ready soon.
Honestly, he was a little bit skeptical about the growth time of the plants, but this was just like a video game.
Freyr took an hour to water all the plants because the watering can had a limited capacity so he had to go to the well multiple times to fill them. Once he finished, he felt a sense of accomplishment.
“Let’s go check out that bulletin board. The letter did say I should complete the requests on there…”
He walked over to the bulletin board, finally getting a good look at it.
There were three slips of paper pinned to the board.
The first slip of paper requested 10 potatoes and the reward was 400 gold coins. There was no time limit or punishment for not completing the request, but it will stay on the board until it is completed, taking up space for newer requests.
The second request asked for 10 carrots. The reward this time was an iron sword. There was no time limit or punishment.
Lastly, the third request wanted 10 turnips and would give a water skill upon completion. It did not state what the skill was, just that it could help on the farm.
Honestly, these quests were easy to complete so he didn’t see why he wouldn’t complete it. Not only that, but it gave him gold, a weapon, and skill. The bulletin board was generous with its rewards!
Freyr already had those three vegetables growing, so he didn’t have to worry about the bulletin board for the time being.
At the moment, he didn’t want to go into the mines because in almost every farming sim, the mines had monsters. He didn’t know if that would also be the case for this dimensional farm.
He did need to clear the farmland, so it wasn’t like he had nothing to do. When he was tired, he could explore other places.
Freyr got to work, happily breaking up large rocks, trees, and stumps, and collecting the rocks, wood, and weeds.

On the third day, the carrots were ready to be harvested. This was the one he was the most excited for because it gave him a weapon he could use in the mines.
He did try to go in there earlier even though he said he didn’t want to go there at first. The slimes were hard to kill and none of his farming tools worked on them like they did with the giant worm. It was unfortunate but the dimensional farm probably had its rules.
Freyr looked at the fully grown carrots and still couldn’t believe it took three days to grow them. He knelt down and looked at the leaves of the carrots and found they were all healthy and vibrant. Carrot leaves could be used to make pesto, so he was saving everything!
He gently pulled a carrot out to see it was 7 inches long. It was an orange carrot. Then he pulled out another one and saw it was a yellow carrot. By the time he was done picking all the carrots, he had one of every color, orange, yellow, red, purple, and white. They were all roughly the same size too.
In total, he collected 400 carrots. He bought 20 bags of each seed type so each bag had 20 seeds in it. That wasn’t too bad.
He separated 10 carrots, grabbing two of each color. Then he went to the bulletin board with those carrots. In front of him like a video game screen, the request popped up and told him to press “deliver.” After doing so, the carrots disappeared from his hands, leaving behind an iron sword.
“With my new weapon, I can finally go into the mines while I wait for my crops!”
After a few days of wandering around, he was pretty bored. He also cleared up half the farmland but it was tiring to do that all day. Being able to go into the mines would keep him occupied.
Actually, what happened to his body in the real world? He couldn’t have died because he could see the status screen only hunters could see. Then what was going on? Why couldn’t he return?
Well, he wasn’t hungry so it should be fine…
Freyr went to the wooden box near the bulletin board and found it was a shipping bin. Whatever he wanted to sell, he could put it in the bin and the next day, the money he is owed will automatically go into his wallet. This was typical for any farming simulation game. He decided to only put half of the remaining carrots into the bin.
More money on the farm meant getting more money for new vegetables.
He could also sell his vegetables in the real world as well, making money there too. Plus, there were permanent stat increases for the first time eating one of the crops and temporary ones after that. His vegetables would always be in high demand by hunters!
“Anyway, when I figure out how to get out of the dimensional farm, I should think about where I am going to sell my vegetables… For now, let’s go to the mines!”
Freyr was determined to get his revenge on those slimes.

The entrance to the mines was located at the base of the mountain. It was the only mountain in the dimensional farm.
The mines were similar to a lot of classic farming simulation games with rocks, ores, geodes, gems, and monsters. The only difference is that these mines were never-ending. He would never be able to reach the bottom of the mines even if he spent hundreds of years trying to do so.
Every 20 floors, the scenery in the mines will change. It will go through 6 different "biomes" before going back to the first one.
The first 20 floors looked like your usual cave. There was nothing special about it like lava or water. It didn’t even have any moss or plants.
Originally, Freyr tried to go deeper into the mines, but he couldn't get past the first floor because of the slimes that guarded the ladder going downward. He didn't have any weapons and he didn't know if there were monsters in this cave that could kill him, so he decided to wait for the iron sword reward.
With a weapon by his side, he was eager to go deeper into the mines to see what it had in store for him.
Freyr equipped the sword and made his way through the first floor. There were only simple rocks he could break and there were no gems or ores on the first floor. The slimes were easy to kill. They were slow and only lunged at him. It had no other attacks or defensive abilities, so he was able to slash them once and they disappeared. Occasionally, they would leave behind a mana crystal or a jar of slime.
When he beat all the slimes on the first floor, he saw that he didn't level up, but his combat skill increased by one.
It was strange. He beat 10 slimes, but his experience points didn't even go up by one... Were these mines not able to level him up like in normal dungeons? Well, at least he could still level up his skills, which were just as important if not even more important than leveling up as a hunter...
Freyr took a deep breath and made his way down the ladder. There were no monsters in the ladder, so he only needed to make sure he didn't fall. It was also incredibly dark in the hole. The only thing he could see was the light coming from the top and the bottom of the hole.
Once he safely made it to the second floor, he walked carefully, keeping the sword in his hands. Sometimes, monsters like to jump out behind large rocks, so he kept his guard up even though this was the mines.
He didn’t see any slimes, but he could hear a high-pitched squeaking sound as he made his way down the tunnel. It sounded like a bat, but it echoed throughout the cave. Not only that, it sounded like there were a lot of them.
Freyr held his sword out, bracing himself for the bats to come his way. If it was like a certain farming game, those bats fly toward him from different directions.
He was right because these bats came at him from above, from the way he came, and even in front of him.
He did his best to slash at them, but many of them dodged, trying to attack him. He wasn’t the best fighter, so he couldn’t dodge a lot of the attacks.
Freyr could feel the scratches forming on his arms, but he didn’t want to give up! His HP, or his health points, were only going down by one but it still hurt. Getting scratched and bit was very painful.
There were 15 dead bats by the time he was done. Some of them dropped mana crystals while others dropped bat wings.
After leaving the dimensional farm, he vowed to go to the Hunter’s Association and learn how to fight. He was pitifully swinging the sword around with no skill, it was pretty embarrassing… At least he was the only one here.
