A man was on his way searching for the ultimate purpose. Tired, he sat by a rock, exclaiming, "How pitiful this rock of a being is! Living without a purpose, without any meaning, completely ignorant of the Great Mystery to be unfolded at the end of this magnificent universe. How can such a life be lived? No wonder the universe gave you no life in the first place!"
The rock responded, "How pitiful this human of a kind is! Being put in this world against his will, burdened to seek an end in a universe without end. Wasted half his life only to cry for half a purpose. The other half he is forced to labor for the universe's will, which has nothing to do with him in the first place."
Determined and unmoved, the man moved forward on his way.
Years later, exhausted and worn out from his long journey, he came across the same rock. "O how I wish to be this rock, so dull and oblivious, without a care to be in this world. The universe did it much mercy by not giving it life, so that it does not have to try to suck out any more life of this dry and lifeless universe. Indeed, by being meaninglessness itself, it lives in accordance with the most tyrannical principle of all: utter meaninglessness!" The man relieved a heavy sigh as he finished.
"Such a waste of so many words, only to mean nothing," said the rock, in a forceful and vigorous tone.
