Orie looked around. The cave was dazzling, but a little strange. She didn't like the feeling of the cave pressing in around her, even though it was bigger than her current house.
"Suit yourself," Orie said, and slipped through the tunnel. She walked back to her house, and entered the main cave.
Orie had a bad reputation with the members of this cave. People shot looks at her as she walked through the streets. The children stopped their play to watch her as she walked by. She glanced in their direction, and they quickly pretended that they hadn't been watching her.
Soon, she found the house she was looking for; an old, trodden down mud brick house. The door creaked when she opened it. She climbed the ladder to the second floor. A small, antlered rabbit was sittting there with a note tied around its neck. A jackalope. She stared at the creature curiously. This was not how she usually received letters. She read the note.
We cannot speak any longer. Please take care of Finis.
Weird. What a strange name.
She gently picked up the rabbit and climbed down the ladder.
How was she going to sneak a jackelope back to her house?
...
Dianne picked up some stones she liked. Nobody else ever decorated the cave, so she would.
Then she saw one that looked different. While every other rock in the cave seemed to be one color, this one was a whirlwind of every color imaginable. And, it had a small heart on it.
...
Melissa and Karina had been climbing stairs for a long time. Eventually, the hall opened up into a large room.
The creature spoke again.
"Find Sunfish. She can help you find your friend." Then, he left. The two of them were quickly surrounded by the doctors, who were swarming them with questions.
I really didn't want to do this. Karina sighed. And every single one of them left the two alone.
Melissa looked at her, confused.
"What was that?" She asked. Karina shrugged.
Melissa quickly walked away, leaving Karina behind. Karina payed no mind to this, and searched the room. It was quite big, but unusually crowded. She was really regretting coming down here.
