When the sun shines through on rainy days, 

As a streak of hope through a stormy night, 

Bathing the world in a bittersweet haze.  

It catches attention, grasps our gaze, 

As the clouds sparkle and glitter with light, 

When the sun shines through on rainy days.  

Sometimes it grows, and for a while it stays, 

Then the sun comes out and makes it alright, 

By bathing the world in a dream-like haze.  

But sometimes it lessens, darkening the bays, 

As our streak of hope disappears from sight, 

From when the sun shined through on rainy days.  

So we've gotta soak in those warmth-filled rays, 

And let the fire in our hearts ignite, 

As we bathe in the world's delightful haze.  

On days that are dark, and when the sunlight strays, 

When it's hard to let our wings take flight, 

Remember that the sun often shines through on rainy days, 

So look for its bittersweet, hopeful haze.
