LUNA

I wake up on Christmas Eve tired. My body is sore from biking the previous night to the mall and back but I still have work to do before Christmas comes. I quickly brush my teeth and change into casual clothes. After I walk down stairs to see if anyone has started breakfast yet. When I get there no one is there. Mom and Dad must have gone to work already. That means that they probably didn’t make breakfast for Kiyomi or me. I guess I would have to make breakfast for the both of us. We have some eggs and leftovers from yesterday's dinner of rice and chicken. I take the rice and chicken out. I guess I could make fried rice. Fried rice can use up the left-overs in the fridge and make a yummy, easy, meal for me and my sister. I quickly take a pan out of the cupboard and place it on the stove. I put a little bit of oil on the pan so it can heatup while I prep the ingredients. The chicken from last night will serve as the source of protein. With the chicken that was cooked there were also some various vegetables. I place them on the cutting board and dice the add-ins. After breaking the rice into chunks, I place it in the pan and start warming the rice. When the rice warmed up, I placed the add-ins on top of the rice. I mix it carefully and spread it out in the pan while I go to beat a few eggs into it. When I am finished I pour it on the layer of rice that I spreaded out on the bottom of the pan. After I quickly break up the egg layer and mix it into the rice. Now the dish is done. I quickly put some in a bowl and placed it on the kitchen table. Once it is safely placed down, I sprint up the stairs to wake up my sister. 

“Wake up Kiyomi! I made breakfast for us!!” I shout to her.

“Isitmorninalready?” mumbles Kiyomi

“Yes, wake up!”

“Okay, Okay!!!” she says 

“I will be down in five minutes”

I walk down stairs and plate myself some fried rice. Afterwards, I go to the kitchen table to eat. Soon after my sister steps downstairs in a pair of casual clothes to eat. She sits at the table with me and starts to eat

“It's Christmas Eve!!!” she practically shouts,

“We need to make cookies, wrap our gifts! Oh my god there’s so much to do!!” She continues,

“Do you want to make our usual batch of cookies and traditions?” I say,

“Sure!! But I have to wrap my gifts first” Kiyomi says.

After we finish our breakfast Kiyomi goes to wrap her presents. OH MY GOD!!! I haven’t wrapped my presents yet!! I need to finish with that! I grab some wrapping paper and sprint to my room. After I cut some wrapping paper and wrap the presents. Then I quickly finish the hat I was working on for my dad’s gift. Once I am completely done with presents I go back downstairs to see if Kiyomi is down with her batch of presents so we can work on our usual Christmas Eve traditions. She is sitting on the couch scrolling through instagram. 

“Hey!” I say,

“Are you ready to start our usual traditions?”

“Of course I am!!” she shouts

“Christmas only comes once a year, we should make the most of it!”
