With many flower creams in his Inventory, and his vitality points now at full, the notebook automatically turned the page left and right, stopping on blank pages, just empty.
Narrowing his eyes, Starter tried moving the notebook himself, not understanding what was happening. He was now on the “Quest” page, where he saw that the letters were fading into the same color as the “egg-shell” colored pages. Quickly turning to the Achievement page, the letters changed places, moving like race cars on a race track, but in a slow motion.
Starter closed the book, sighting, then exhaling deeply for a few seconds, trying not to bother too much with something he really didn’t understand
Letting the notebook out of his hand, with the pen stuck back inside the cover, Starter looked around to see if he could follow his way in a village, where he could ask more about the new surroundings that he found himself in, and maybe some answers about who he actually was..
Forwarding his look back in front of him, he saw something or someone with a clothing of a brown cloak, with a print of snow, which was covering its whole body and upper part of its face.
The mysterious person whispered something while looking at Starter, then quickly raising both of her hands towards the sky, dropping them down at Starter, then leaving in a massive hurry.
“Huh, what? Hey, you, wait!”
Exclaimed Starter, now really curious about what was going on, he decided to follow the strange person, hoping he would find answers.
“I hope it’s not some kind of bait for me to get my stuff stolen”
Though Starter, coin flipping his decision
Before the cloaked stranger left, it was around fifteen meters away from Starter, already having a good headstart on him.
Running through the forest with the speed of a cheetah, the stranger couldn’t be caught, but if the surroundings would have been different, and not muddy, which was slowing him down really hard, the tree branches, long grass, ponds, then he could’ve had a better chance.
Suddenly, the climate changed into a more warmer environment, feeling the hotness on his skin all of the blue.
The trees started getting less and less denser, and in the distance, the stranger was already more than tens of meters away from Starter.
“Arghh, how fast can it be?”
Groaned Starter, taking a moment to take a breather, resting his palms on his flexed knees.
He continued the path towards the depths of the forest, but only… it wasn’t a continuation of the forest. In front of him, he could hear laughs and talking from other people.
“Wait… could it be…?”
Monologues Starter, trying to get through the many bushes that were blocking the way, which were letting the light from the, now warmer sunset, get in.
Behind the bushes, there were many people around his age, younger and older, walking around in a new place found by him, a village with small houses made out of simple-colored walls, with ceramic roofs. Not a really “spruce” village, but it was new to Starter, and maybe a good place to rest for tonight.
In the background, there was the name of the village written in a place behind Starter
“New zone unlocked: Zone one, Hele”
In front of him, there was a wooden fence that he unlocked with the use of a small metal placement in the entrance, which he opened and closed, which was just good manners.
Suddenly, from a steep and dark street, which he barely passed, he heard a loud scream from a lady.
“PLEASE, SOMEBODY, HEEELP!”
Hearing the scream of help, Starter took out his stick from the it’s hold inside the belt, and ran towards the entrance of the alley.
Entering the dark alley, he found the lady, stuck with her back to a two-meter, brick wall, looking scared and feared for her life
“Come on, miss, give us all of your coins. If you do as we say, we won’t hurt you”
All of them chuckled, approaching the woman’s bag, with different items in their hands. A small knife with a rubber handle, a bat, and a glove made out of metal, with sharp spikes, which were made from the same main material.
“Hey, you there, what are you doing?”
Aske Starter, before he saw that all of them had notebooks stuck to their backs.
“They’re doing Quests? Just like me!”
Monologues Starter, understanding the situation, but not knowing what caused this
“Get lost, punk”
Said one of them, turning towards Starter with a disgusted and cocky look, then turning his look back at the woman.
Starter took the stick in both of his hands and ran towards them, wanting to protect the woman in help.
One moment away from hitting them, the adventurer from the middle turned his body only halfway and extended it’s right arm, with his palm wide open
“Zem”
He said, letting out a wave of water that filled the entrance of the alley in water, pushing the starter away.
It was like filling a cup with water, but the water is leaking somewhere around it.
The three of them remained untouched, but the same person approached Starter, who know was right at the beginning of the alley, shaking the water off him, since he was drenched.
“So this is what Reddy talked about, people with incredible powers, was it?”
Monologues Starter, closing the space between the two of them in a hurry, preparing himself for an all-in, narrowing his eyelids with an upset and yet angered reaction.
“If this is what someone that doesn’t care about the next day does, robs innocent people, then what can someone who is respected do with these kinds of powers? Reddy, is that true what you told me about only wanting strength?”
Continued Starter, thinking about the past conversation with one person from the first group that he met. Reddy was his name
Right when the person stopped for a moment, wanting to do the same ability again, but this time with two hands, which would cause more power of attack.
“Not on my watch!”
Exclaimed Starter, stepping longer than he usually does, having his stick over his shoulders, preparing for a “Strike”
“ZEM–”
The longer step, has made a moment of “leaping” in the air, where he dashed five meters in a single second, not even realizing it, himself.
“STRIKE!”
He screamed, smashing the bandit’s head, breaking its metal helmet that was used for protection from bullets, fire, arrows and poison.
The person’s helmet broke in many pieces, and in slow-motion, we can even see his face. Unconscious, his front teeth broken and his upper body was slammed into the ground from the strength of action, and the brute strength.
“Tete!”
“You little–!”
Yelled both of them, letting the woman out of their grasp, letting her escape.
What was that, did I just… teleport? No, it was more like an “Instant step”
Monologues Starter, looking down behind him, careless of the two people that couldn’t wait to beat him in a fight.
“RIGHT HERE, PRETTY!”
Shouted one of them, dressed in a customisation made out of hardened paper, hard as rocks.
In turn, Starter found himself with a bat right on his forehead, which put him to a quick sleep.
Laying on the ground, Starter groaned, fighting a deep sleep, barely being able to see anything in a blur. He could only see the two adventurers flexing their weapons in front of him, while being squatted near him
“Do you see this, Starter, “hap hap hap”! That’s how you gon’ get”
Said the left bandit, imitating how he is going to use his knife on Starter.
“Aaahgh”
Groaned Starter, still fighting the sleep.
In front of the bandits, there was a loud thud of a person jumping down from a building of around ten meters, landing on its feet, it was the cloaked stranger.
“Who’s you supposed to be…?”
“Tha-that’s the one! THAT’S SNOWY!”
“You–you’re right, crap, crap, CRAP!”
Shouted both of them with high pitched voices, panicking really quick while running towards the wall behind them, the end of the close alley, trying an impossible way to climb it.
Not finding a way, they decided to try and go for something unexpected and fight the cloaked stranger.
Reaching both with their knife and bat, the cloaked stranger disarmed both of them with three quick motioned movements, then threw the items aside. Huffing and crying, they tried to punch it, kick it and grab it, but nothing worked, the cloaked stranger was just too quick, like a shadow.
Moving in a levitation state, leaving only its shadow the only thing touching the ground, the cloaked stranger swerved between them, leaving them clueless about its current position.
“IT’S NOT FUNNY, YOU KNOW!”
Screamed one of them, crying harder than before, sniffing his nose.
Wanting to point at the cloaked stranger, the other one saw nothing in front of him which he was pointing at, his arm was gone.
There was no injury or blood, it just disappeared, leaving his shirt’s sleeve in an empty manner.
The first person didn’t have it good either, a good piece of his lower face was missing, leaving the inside of the missing part, filled with a white bubble that was almost flowing out of it.
“SNOWYYY!”
Yelled out the man, filled with anger because his looks were ruined permanently.
Wanting to reach for the cloaked stranger, and grab it’s head, already having his fingers curled in a grasp, his friend grabbed him by his chest with his underarm, and slammed a small black ball in the ground, which caused a three meter smoke all around to be created.
The cloaked stranger turned around in the same quick motion, blowing the black gas away. But there was no one left, only the end of the alley.
While all this was happening, Starter, saw the whole action in the same blurry vision, understanding only the moving figures and noises, as well as what they talked about.
Having his look fixed, Starter looked up, where he saw the cloaked, feeling that it was looking down at him
Starter tried standing up, forcing his arms to push his upper body from the ground, so that he would understand what was going on.
“Who–who are you–?”
Asked Starter, faintly before falling into a short sleep, unwillingly letting his hands fall underneath him. When his head was about to hit the hard, dusty brick floor, the cloaked stranger catches his upper body, lowering Starter in a gentle motion.
