WELLS
“Flora, can you please stop? I've told you already I don't want to talk about it” I groaned, fed up with her asking the same question repeatedly. Ive been trying to get what Easton said out of my mind but Flora won’t shut up about it.
“Gosh, you’re so boring. I just want to know what he said so me and the twins can have something new to talk about. We’re still trying to figure out what it meant the last time you two were fighting and Easton just shoved you down then layed on you, not getting up, until you punched him and ran. Like every other time. Please Wells we need some new entertainment in our lives” she begged. I don’t know when they got close but Porter, Paxton, and Flora have become friends and all they do is talk about drama. Me and Easton hate it, mainly because that drama is mostly us.
“Okay, one. It’s really weird that you and the twins are friends to start with. And, two. I'm not telling you” I insisted before walking outside. Me and Flora live together in a cabin. It was easiest for the both of us because we hate the city but love the woods neighboring them. Flora doesn’t just work with me, but owns her own business where she sells her art. That's why her half of the cabin is always a mess and blasting music. But my favorite part about living out here is that we live right by a lake, and there are old trails I found when we moved in that no one else uses.
Those trails are where I always go to call Calla. She’s been my best friend since childhood and hates it when I don't call her after only two days. She answers after a single ring, “Finally! You take forever to call, you know that?” She pointed out.
I sigh before replying, “Yes, I know. Sorry, been a little busy though” I grumble.
“Whatever. You’re calling that's all I care about. So, what happened today? You almost never let Easton take the stuff he steals” She questions.
“Damn it! Flora first then you” I ranted.
“Wait. So something did happen then? Flora doesn’t normally bother you with anything unless it involves Easton and drama. So, fill me in please?” she pleads.
I wasn’t going to tell her but maybe telling someone will get me to stop thinking about it. “We were fighting today and he eventually got me up against a wall and would only let me go if he was able to ask a question-”
“Hold, what was the question first?” she interrupted.
“He asked why I was blushing so much, and I lied and said he was too close even though it was really his eyes. Cal, his eyes are gorgeous. Anyway, I don't think he fully believed me and asked more questions but I refused to answer because he said only one question. But he wouldn’t let me go until he whispered …” I trailed off, not telling her what he said. I couldn’t bring myself to, it was too embarrassing.
“Wells, you can’t just start that and not finish it. Come on, what did he say?” She berated me.
“Fine! He said, You’re so fucking adorable. Then turns around and walks out without looking back. Like what the fuck was that for?!” I raved. I wait for Calla to respond but all I get is udder silence then she’s full on dying laughing.
This is why I didn’t want to say anything about it.
“Sorry! Sorry! It’s just so funny how you two act like this and still are convinced you ate each other's guts” She says, still laughing.
“Calla, I’m tired. I'll call you again soon. Night, love you.” I state, hanging up the phone. I wasn’t lying when I said I was tired but I'm tired about talking about that, nothing else.
Maybe I shouldn’t have told Calla, because now it's the only thing in my head again.
