(The Past... Continuation)

The car ride was silent after what Ki. Myla couldn’t say goodbye to her brother or talk with her mother before leaving. She was thinking of what type of person Ki was. Judging their first encounter and wondering what his family is like, they are important people. They pull up to the main entrance of the compound. Myla could see the main entrance was covered by nature and bushes that were properly maintained by the gardeners and the head lady of the family.

The nature around the compound provided cover for wandering eyes and gave a cleansing feel to the family. But don’t let the beauty and air confuse you. Within the compound lies the top family of The Nation of Fia the Rue Family. They are the hidden leader of The Nation of fia. Ki is the next heir.  

The driver pulls the car to a slow stop to give Myla time to look around at the compound. As Myla is in amazement looking out the window. The driver gets out to open the door for the young master. Ki confidently and proudly gets out of the car and heads toward the steps he stops and waits without looking back at Myla. Myla pulls herself together and heads outside. 

Once out of the car, Ki heads in and the driver takes Myla through the side entrance. She has nothing with her, nothing but the clothes she came with. The driver took her to the center of the garden. She wanted to ask who she was meeting but instead held her breath in and waited for the person or persons to show themselves. She waited for 1 hr standing where she was left at. But her legs started to feel tired and she remembered the benches around the garden, she passed on her way here but that would mean leaving the spot. She doesn’t know what to do. Myla starts walking around making sure not to leave the spot out of her sight.

A small sound went off

The sprinklers were turned on

Myla was getting drenched in water but had nowhere to go other than outside the garden. But as soon as she started to walk away from the spot she remembered what Ki had told her. She would need to take classes and be given tests to see where in the family she would be placed,  either by Ki’s side or to become a lowly servant, what would the difference be between a wife and a lowly servant? She thought. She forgot to recall the rest of what Ki had said, it must not have been important she thought. 

*Oh Myla, hope you can recall it before it's too late*

She stayed at the spot where she was first left at. The sprinklers never stopped the wind got stronger. Myla stayed at the spot till her lips were blue. All that was going on in her head was that she had no other place to go. It was either endure the tests and classes or live on the streets and be picked up by some rich perverted guy. She was sold by her parents and then was bought by Ki. 

The diver came back with a young boy holding an umbrella for her. You can come with me now lets head inside and get you cleaned up. “Danni look after the girl she is Ki property so make sure she knows her place,” said the driver. “Yes fath- umm Sir,” said Danni.

“Miss stay here I will come back with some things for you,” said Danni. Myla waited a couple of minutes by herself thinking that she did good. She made a pledge to herself in those quiet minutes.

“You have no where to go. For better or for worse this place is my new home… no my new prison. All I can do is make sure to please Ki enough that he can’t or anyone else in his family can’t get rid of me. I have to be strong to help myself because no one will make my life better. No one other than Ki and his power and influence,” Myla thought. 

“Miss I am back,” said Danni. “You don’t have to call me Miss, my name is Myla. What is yours?” asked Myla. “I heard that the young boss, I mean the young master will make you his wife. Is it true? Oh my name is Danni,” questionably said Danni. Myla was stunned and didn’t know whether this too was a test, so she gave the answer she thought Ki would like to hear.

“I am no one, why would the young master want me as his wife? I am better suited as any lowly maid in this compound. Yes, I am owned by the young master Ki but my place in this compound is up to him and only him. I only answer to his orders and to the orders he has given to others… to my superiors. That is all I am and all I will ever be,” sadly said Myla.

Tears started to develop in Myla’s eyes but she never let it be shed. Danni shocked by her reply, just stood there in silence. He waits for her to calm her nerves. There in the kitchen of 2nd division, Danni could see how much Myla needed a friend. Someone to be on her side. But what could he do? He doesn’t have much influence within the family, no one knows nor cares who he is.
