Blinding light fell from the glittering chandeliers onto the golden rimmed portraits that lined the walls of the grand hall. It was grand indeed, thought the Alpha of the Crescent Blue pack, Nathaniel, as he stood on enemy ground.
Assuming their negotiations went well with the Cerallio pack, it wouldn't be considered enemy grounds anymore. Though that depended more on their Alpha's behaviour than the contract itself. He had an instant dislike of the man the moment he met him yesterday in this very hall. He had dictated himself with grace and poise but all of that, like the grandeur of this room, was just a window dressing meant to mask the darkness underneath. His polished language and impeccable manners did nothing to hide his malicious nature and overly inflated ego.
The portraits of all the previous alphas were all rusty in comparison to the one that featured him and his future bride. As if he was declaring that he was better than the elders that came before him and deserved decidedly more grandeur and care.
The future Luna of the cerallio was pack was still an enigma to him, he had yet to meet her because she hadn't bothered to greet his pack yesterday alongside her future husband. Though he couldn't entirely blame her for that, in case the rumours circulating about the Alpha's iron like control and his overt possessiveness, especially regarding his fiancée were true.
Her portrait didn't do much to improve his impression of her; she had a haughty expression, and coupled with those snobbish clothes, she appeared as stuck up as the rest of the elites in the pack. Her eyes were empty though, completely expressionless as she stared blankly in front of her, clearly not happy about being in the portrait. She looked uncomfortable next to her future husband, who had his hand around her waist and leaned into her with a wide grin on his face.
The alpha felt a stirring feeling by the look in her eyes; he assumed it was merely pity. Who wouldn't feel sympathetic towards the poor creature being forced to marry the freak alpha of the cerallio? His attention drifted from the portrait towards the commotion outside and he released that it must be the 'happy' couple arriving to greet him. It took him longer than he realised to take his eyes off the portrait of the future Luna and he shook his head before straightening his jacket. The doors opened and the couple walked in, looking radiant and regal together. Nathaniel shook hands with Alpha Felix and moves onto greeting his future bride before he stops dead in his tracks.
It can't be, he thinks to himself, as he stands motionless in front of her and stares at her in utter shock.
Alpha Nathaniel has spent his entire life putting his duty to his pack, the Crescent Blue, above all else. Until he meets the future Luna of the Cerallio pack- a pack with whom he is currently negotiating it. A forbidden attraction takes root between them and he realises how far he is willing to go to obtain her. Is all fair in love, even war?
Power means everything to the Cerallio pack. Words like these are like a death sentence to Eileen, who despite being the Alpha’s fiancé, is doomed by her former slave status and her ultimate weakness- not having a wolf of her own. Her life is at a standstill until she meets Alpha Nathaniel- who claims to be her mate! Will the two be able to overcome this fatal attraction or will their desires overtake them and lead them to their downfall?
