The situation wasn't good, and I was still dying of hunger. I asked the boy if he had anything valuable to give me. The boy, who didn't care, gave me a gold coin. Seeing the coin's shine, my eyes lit up.
"YES!"
"Are you hungry?"
"..."
"I get it. Go do whatever you want with it."
Hearing this, I gave a childish smile and quickly stood up. I wanted to leave the cabin, but I stopped.
"Don't go anywhere. Stay here. It's not safe outside. I'll be back soon."
"…"
The boy just nodded silently in agreement. I hurried away from that place and headed towards the village.
---
It was already midnight, and the weather was very cold. Seeing how cold it was, I bought a blanket from a shop and headed back to the forest.
"A piece of bread and a blanket for him."
I clutched the remaining gold coin in my hand and walked through the forest with a smile. I slowly opened the cabin door but was surprised by the scene in front of me.
Where did he go? Why isn't he in the cabin?
I stepped inside, and suddenly, the boy grabbed my wrist and pulled me in, closing the door firmly behind me. He wrapped one arm around my waist, preventing me from moving, and covered my eyes with his other hand. It seemed like he was trying to hide me from seeing something in that empty place.
"…"
"Um... I'm saying..."
The boy held me in his arms and didn't move. Hearing my voice, he snapped out of it and quickly turned me towards him. Seeing his face without the scarf over his eyes, I realized he had recovered.
"Your eyes... are they better?"
"Ah... yes, thanks to you."
After a while, the boy stared at me intently, as if mesmerized by my face. What was he thinking about?
"So it was you... the same girl?"
He gave a small smile as he said this, but his legs gave out, and he leaned against the cabin wall, sitting down. When he fell, I quickly sat beside him. I knelt in front of him, took the bread out of the bag, and with eyes shining with happiness, I opened my mouth.
"Look... this is the best bread in the village. Ah... finally, I've found you, my love."
I hugged the baguette tightly and talked to it like a mad person. The boy, witnessing this scene, started laughing. He looked incredibly beautiful. His soothing voice, his messy blonde hair like silk, and that mole under his eye—everything about him seemed perfect.
I turned into a villain who mercilessly killed anyone commanded, becoming a tool for evil. Despite my death, the havoc continued, and I became a wandering spirit. Now, with a chance for redemption, I decided to change my ways. But can those who hated me become my family, and can someone hurt by me fall in love with me?
