Chapter 14.
Something nice.
Fred, for his part, had gone looking for Cristian and taken him to his favorite seafood restaurant; the boy practically devoured every bite and in Fred's eyes it was completely charming to see him eat with such appetite.
The young man in front of him was much more than just a student, he was his boy, his boyfriend, and the one who had silently saved him from suicide; if he had never met Cristian that day with so much charisma where the classroom was, he would have finished taking the last pill to make his heart collapse.
The boy had been the angel who saved him in the middle of the darkness; and although only Cristian knew that, he didn't know that it had been an induced intoxication to end his own life.
Before Cristian, Fred was tired, physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted... he only lived to live, he had broken up with a woman he had loved since childhood, because she had cheated on him with his father after finding the two of them in the same bed, which had horrified and traumatized him practically for life.
Fred never believed that he could overcome the trauma of his first love and his father, however, Cristian arrived at the best time... and finding him so often was the sign he believed in, he always invited the boy to completely new plans for him like visiting museums, going to the fair, going camping in the mountains, going horseback riding on the beach, every weekend Cristian had a new plan and he always invited him like a friend you just met and became part of your life, they didn't have to agree all the time, but definitely, they could both feel the attraction and it couldn't be hidden, it was something new, magical and unrepeatable, it was that kind of events that only happen once in this life, those events that you should not miss for anything in the world, that was Cristian for Fred: his salvation, his reason for living and the hope for a tomorrow.
The fact that Cristian had been upset the last few weeks was painful for Fred, who didn't want Cristian to know what it was like to feel bad about himself and completely alone, that angel didn't deserve to know human evil and while he was wiping the hot sauce that was dripping from his lips Fred let out an I love you from his mouth, which made Cristian's cheeks blush and his eyes looked at him with that particular shine that two lovers in love and excited have, it seemed that everything around him didn't matter and the fact that someone from the university saw them was secondary.
Fred didn't care about losing his job to save his relationship with Cristian, it was clear that the boy was his priority, making him happy was what he longed for every day and Cristian definitely brought that magic and illusion to his life that was the starter motor of his heart.
