The next few days passed in a whirlwind of activity. Lifu trained harder than ever, honing his skills in both combat and magic, knowing that he would need every advantage in the battles to come. He also spent time with his friends, enjoying the moments of camaraderie and normalcy while they lasted.
But the looming threat of the Celestial Forge weighed heavily on his mind, and he found himself constantly on edge, watching for any sign that the other keys had been discovered—or that their enemies were closing in.
Tia, Tumo, and Leila noticed the change in Lifu’s demeanour.
One evening, as the group gathered in the common room to relax after a long day, Tia broke the comfortable silence with a question that had been on everyone’s mind.
“So, Lifu,” she began, her tone light but curious, “you’ve been pretty intense lately. We’ve all got our own challenges, but I can tell there’s something else going on with you. Are you okay?”
Lifu hesitated, knowing that the time had come to tell his friends the truth. He couldn’t keep them in the dark any longer—not when the stakes were this high.
Taking a deep breath, Lifu began to explain everything—the discovery of the box, the encounter with the shadowy figure, and the revelation of the Celestial Forge. He told them about the mission to find the remaining keys, how he wanted them to be part of his retrieval team, and the dangers they would face along the way.
By the time he finished, the room was filled with a heavy silence. Tia, Tumo, and Leila exchanged looks of shock and concern, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
“That’s... that’s a lot to take in,” Tumo finally said, his tail flicking nervously. “A power that could reshape the world... it’s almost too big to wrap my head around. But whatever happens, you know I’m with you. Shadow and I will do everything we can to help.”
Lifu nodded, grateful for Tumo’s support. “Thanks, Tumo. We’re going to need all the help we can get. The professors are still working on figuring out where the other keys might be, but we can’t afford to let our guard down. If someone else is after them, we need to be ready.”
Leila’s expression was serious, her analytical mind already processing the information. “The Celestial Forge... it sounds like something out of legend. But if it’s real, and if it’s as powerful as you say, then we have to be extremely careful. There’s no telling who else might be after it. But, as scary as it is, I’m with you all the way.”
Tia’s eyes narrowed with determination as she held Lifu’s hand. “You’re not doing this alone, Lifu. Whatever’s coming, we’re in it together. We’ve faced tough challenges before, and we’ve come out stronger. This is no different.”
Lifu felt a surge of gratitude and relief at their unwavering support. “Thanks, everyone. I didn’t want to keep this from you, but I had to be sure of what we were dealing with. Now that you know, I’m glad to have you on my team.”
The group spent the rest of the evening discussing their next steps, their bond stronger than ever in the face of the coming storm. They knew that the challenges ahead would test them like never before, but they also knew that they could rely on each other, no matter what.
The group spent the next few days training and preparing, knowing that the calm before the storm wouldn’t last much longer. They practiced their skills, honed their abilities, and grew closer as a team, determined to be ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

A week later, Lifu received another message from Corin, summoning him to the Professor’s Tower. This time, the note was more urgent:
We’ve found something. Come quickly.
Lifu didn’t waste any time, hurrying to the tower as soon as he could. When he arrived, Corin and Professor Marlow were already waiting for him in the same room where they had first discussed the Celestial Forge.
“What did you find?” Lifu asked, his heart racing with anticipation.
Professor Marlow gestured to a large, ancient map spread out on the table. The map was covered in markings and annotations, some of which were in languages Lifu didn’t recognise.
“We’ve been studying the inscriptions on the box and cross-referencing them with other ancient texts and artefacts,” Professor Marlow explained, his finger tracing along the edges of the map. “It wasn’t easy, but we’ve managed to identify the location of what we believe is the next key.”
Lifu leaned in closer, his eyes scanning the map. It depicted a vast, mountainous region, dotted with symbols and markings that seemed to denote various landmarks and hidden sites. One particular area, high in the mountains, had been circled in red ink.
“This is the Ironclaw Mountains,” Corin said, pointing to the circled area. “They’re located far to the north, in one of the most remote and inhospitable parts of the continent. Few people venture there, and those who do rarely return.”
Lifu’s heart sank slightly at the mention of the mountains’ reputation. The Ironclaw Mountains were known for their treacherous terrain, freezing temperatures, and dangerous creatures that prowled the snow-covered peaks. But the thought of the key being hidden there made sense—whoever had hidden these keys had wanted to ensure they were difficult, if not impossible, to find.
“So, the key is somewhere in those mountains?” Lifu asked, trying to suppress the nervousness creeping into his voice.
Professor Marlow nodded. “Yes. The inscriptions on the box match certain landmarks described in ancient texts that reference the Ironclaw Mountains. We believe the key is hidden in a place called the Frozen Tomb—a crypt that’s said to be buried deep within the mountains, protected by powerful magic.”
Lifu swallowed hard, trying to imagine what they might face in such a place. “Do we know anything about this magic? How to get past it?”
“We have some clues,” Corin replied, his expression serious. “The texts mention that the Frozen Tomb is guarded by wards that respond to both elemental magic and physical strength. With a well-balanced team, you can find a way through.”
Lifu nodded, feeling the weight of the task ahead. This was no ordinary mission—they were venturing into one of the most dangerous regions in the world to retrieve a key that could determine the fate of the entire continent. But he also knew that they couldn’t afford to hesitate. The longer they waited, the greater the chance that someone else might find the key first.
“When do we leave?” Lifu asked, his resolve hardening.
Corin and Professor Marlow exchanged a glance. “As soon as possible,” Marlow said. “You need to move quickly, but you also need to prepare. This journey will be long and perilous. You’ll need to reinforce your training, and ensure that your team is ready for anything. We’ll take care of the tools and resources.”
Lifu thought of Tumo, Tia, and Leila. They had all faced challenges before, but this would be their greatest test yet.
“I’ll gather my team,” Lifu said. “We’ll be ready.”
Professor Marlow nodded, a look of approval in his eyes. “Good. The fate of many may rest on what you find in those mountains, Lifu. Be careful, and trust in your abilities—and in your team.”
Lifu left the tower with a renewed sense of purpose. The Ironclaw Mountains awaited them, and with them, the next piece of the puzzle that would unlock the secrets of the Celestial Forge.

Back at the dormitory, Lifu found Tumo, Tia, and Leila waiting for him in the common room. Their faces lit up with curiosity when they saw him, sensing that something important had happened.
“Did you find something?” Tia asked, leaning forward eagerly.
Lifu nodded, taking a seat and explaining everything he had learned from Professor Marlow and Corin. He told them about the Ironclaw Mountains, the Frozen Tomb, and the key they needed to retrieve.
As he spoke, the mood in the room shifted from curiosity to determination. The Ironclaw Mountains were dangerous, but they had faced danger before, and they knew that this mission was too important to turn away from.
“We’re with you, Lifu,” Tumo said firmly, his hand resting on Shadow’s sleek fur. The panther’s green eyes glowed with a quiet intensity, as if sensing the importance of the journey ahead. “Shadow and I will help you find that key, no matter what.”
“Count me in too,” Tia added, her fiery spirit burning bright. “Those mountains sound like a challenge, and I’m always up for a challenge. Besides, we’re not letting you go into danger alone.”
Leila nodded, her calm and steady presence reassuring. “I’ll be there as well. We’ll need to stay sharp and work together, but we can do this. The key—and the Forge—must not fall into the wrong hands.”
Lifu felt a surge of gratitude and pride as he looked at his friends. They were ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead, and he knew that together, they could overcome any obstacle.
“Thank you, everyone,” Lifu said, his voice filled with sincerity. “We’ll prepare over the next few days and plan our route. This won’t be easy, but I know we can do it.”
With the decision made, the group spent the next several days in intense preparation. They gathered warm clothing for the harsh mountain conditions, studied maps of the region, and trained relentlessly to hone their skills. The Tamer Club provided Tumo with special equipment for Shadow, ensuring the panther would be well-protected and effective in the icy terrain. Leila gathered various tomes that she thought they might need from the Sorcery Club. Tia sparred with as many people as she possibly could at the Fighters Club.
As they prepared, the reality of the journey ahead began to sink in. This wasn’t just another mission—it was a quest that could determine the fate of their world. But despite the enormity of the task, they remained focused and determined.
Finally, the day of departure arrived. The group gathered at the edge of the academy grounds, their packs heavy with supplies and their hearts filled with resolve. Corin and Professor Marlow were there to see them off.
“Remember what we’ve taught you,” Professor Marlow said, his voice stern but supportive. “Trust in your training and in each other. And above all, be careful. The Ironclaw Mountains are treacherous, and you’ll need to stay vigilant.”
“We’ll be back with the key,” Lifu promised, his eyes filled with determination.
Corin stepped forward, clapping Lifu on the shoulder. “Good luck, Lifu. We’ll make sure to continue searching for the other locations. But out there, it’s up to you.”
With a final nod of encouragement, Lifu and his team set off, the academy’s gates closing behind them as they began their journey northward.

The journey to the Ironclaw Mountains was long and arduous. The landscape gradually changed as they travelled further north, the air growing colder and the terrain more rugged. The group moved swiftly but cautiously, knowing that time was of the essence.
As they approached the base of the mountains, the weather took a turn for the worse. Snow began to fall in thick, heavy flakes, and the wind howled through the rocky valleys, cutting through their warm clothing like a knife. But they pressed on, determined to reach the Frozen Tomb and retrieve the key.
The climb up the mountains was even more treacherous than they had anticipated. The paths were narrow and slippery, the snow obscuring their footing and making every step a potential hazard. But they moved carefully, supporting each other and using their magic and skills to navigate the dangerous terrain.
Tumo and Shadow led the way, the panther’s keen senses and agility proving invaluable in the harsh conditions. Shadow moved with a silent grace, guiding them through the snow-covered paths and alerting them to any dangers lurking nearby.
After days of climbing and fighting off monsters, they finally reached the entrance to the Frozen Tomb. It was a massive stone structure carved into the side of the mountain, its entrance marked by towering pillars covered in ancient runes. The air around the tomb crackled with magic, and the temperature dropped even further as they approached.
“This is it,” Lifu said, his breath visible in the freezing air. “The Frozen Tomb.”
The group stood in awe of the ancient structure, feeling the weight of history and the power of the magic that protected it. But there was no time to hesitate. They had come too far to turn back now.
“Let’s get that key,” Tia said, her voice resolute.
With a nod of agreement, the group moved forward, stepping into the shadow of the Frozen Tomb. The entrance loomed before them, dark and foreboding, as if it were waiting to swallow them whole.
But they weren’t afraid. They were ready. Together, they would face whatever trials lay within the tomb, retrieve the key, and protect the Celestial Forge from those who would use its power for destruction.
As they crossed the threshold, the darkness of the tomb enveloped them, and the first of the magical wards activated, filling the air with a cold, blue light.
The trials of the Frozen Tomb had begun.
