Chester hopped inside the Stall too, dragging most of it down because of its weight.
With Starter behind him, looking at the coming enemies, Chester prepared and tried to search for a key that he thought was lost.
“Chester, hurry up…"
Said Starter, having his eyes fixed to the guards running towards them, rotating long and white cuffs inside their hands, just like some lassos.
“One moment’
Replied Chester, moving some metal parts from inside the Stall and pushing some thin wood pieces, which let out clinging and wood creaks from the entire stall.
Suddenly, in the sides of the Stall, two wings spread out, wings made out of a thin material similar to wool, which pushed the air away from the speedy pace at which they were taken out.
“Wooh, did you make these as decor? Neat”
Said Starter, nodding in sign of approval of how cool he thought it was.
“Not even close, check this out!”
Exclaimed Chester, joyfully dragging a long handle with a hand grip on top, which he tightened its grip on, letting out another sound of pieces of metal hitting each other, and the start of a motor engine.
The wheels moved and the Stall started moving, the side on which Chester was trying to stay fit, was the spot from where you control the actions of the Stall.
“NO WAY WE ARE MOVING. NO WAY WE ARE MOVING”
Repeated Starter, flabbergasted, letting out a loud smile after saying the same sentence the second time.
“Check it!”
Exclaimed Chester, happily raising the piece of wood inside the floor that extended all the way to his chest.
He pulled on the lever, and the moving Stall has turned into a flying machine
“Hold yourself!”
Starter did as instructed, and held himself as hard as he could, on every single hold that was inside the stall
“Uh… I have a fear of heights”
Said Starter, having a pale face, feeling butterflies in his stomach
Moments away from the guards, they slowly moved away from the ground, casting a shadow on the ground.
The boy from on top of the golem’s shoulders, has jumped his entire right arm inside it’s notebook, that was sitting calmly near him, standing still in the air
A packed piece of page emerged from the thin air, extending out into an eight meter paper, with a hole broken in the middle, from which a massive hand, followed by an entire arm, was the boy’s.
“Chester… Chester, we’ve got company!”
“What is it–? DUDE, DO SOMETHING!”
Yelled out Chester, startled by the moving arm coming towards them. behind the two of them, and a long and massive hand
Starter nervously searched around the Stall but found nothing other than items and armors that he started throwing towards the hand which almost grasped their mechanical machinery.
Putting his hand on everything, he threw towards it, armors, different shape and sized items, as well as iron and wooden swords
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WITH THOSE I WAS PAYING MY PLACE IN THE “round shop” “
Shouted Chester, amazed by Starter’s stupidity, after seeing what he was doing, and how little to none change it was doing
“Oh, right, if you paid them as you should have, then why IS IT KEEP COMING!”
Suddenly, the hand grabbed the back of the flying vehicle and dragged it back, centimeter by centimeter.
“Chester, we’ve got a problem on board”
Said Starter, panicking, holding himself to whatever he found that may save him from falling off from the vehicle.
“I’ve got one last idea. Take my notebook, rip one paper out and write “Snow Star” on it”
Said Chester, holding the lever with his right hand and explaining to Starter with his left hand.
“What is a Snow Star?”
Asked Starter, stopping for one second and thinking about what Chester said.
“STOP SLEEPING, DO IT!”
“Right, sorry, sorry”
Starter hurried himself and did as instructed. Then wrote the two words on a piece of paper with his own pen.
“Now what?”
“Now slam it into the ground!”
Starter did as instructed again and slammed it into the ground.
A splash of snow along with dark-blue sparks jumped from inside the piece of paper, freezing half of the Stall, and Starter’s clothes, but not his body. After the white snow jumped out of the piece of paper, it quickly targeted the massive hand that was still holding them and melted itself there, freezing most part of the hand and letting the two of them get away by air.
The boy retracted his hand and the piece of paper got shredded into small pieces, falling down on the ground.
“Aaaagh!”
Shouted the boy, falling down from the golem, holding his entire arm very close to himself, trying to warm it up
“Prince Deme, what happened, is everything okay?”
Asked one of the guards, very scared that a permanent damage could be made with the used ability on the boy
“Does… it look like EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH YOU!”
Shouted the boy, raising himself up from the ground.
He extended his wounded arm, close to having it filled with frozen up blood inside it, widened out his fingers, targeting the machinery that Chester and Starter escaped with, and then quickly closed it.
“Starter, I will never take you slightly again”
Whispered Prince Deme, narrowing his eyes that were filled with anger and hatred.
“Hahaa, woohoo! Nice work man… but you owe me seventy gold coins for the items thrown out”
Said Chester, changing his look from up front, to Starter, giving him a really bothered, yet comical look
“I take it, but only if you join me in my Quests”
Said Starter, while the whirring of the machinery continued, as well as the wind cutting sound of the wings which made out of thin cloth tried holding both of their weight
“I gave up on that life long ago”
“But why? I’m able to hear the sound of a new Quest every single time!”
Chester scoffed, then expressed his reaction with an upset one
“What progression are you?”
Asked Chester, putting his left arm up high, so that his Progression level could be seen. He was forty one.
“Forty one? That means he’s been in this place for quite some time. I barely have Progression 4, I even progressed a little bit somehow.
He raised his hoodie’s sleeve and showed his Progression
“Four? Wait… you’re “The Starter”. I’ve heard stories about you ever since I was working with my uncle back at home”
There was a sudden moment of silence, after Chester’s shock and awe towards who the person next to him really was.
Suddenly, something hit their mechanism, making Chester lose control and Starter held himself as hard as he could into whatever was near him so that he wouldn't fall, but ended up in holding himself by Chester’s neck.
“Chester, I’m falling, I’m falling”
“You will soon enough if you don’t let go”
Said Chester, having trouble breathing and controlling the mechanism
After what Chester said, Starter let go of his neck and looked back, but saw nothing.
“What hit us? I can’t see nothing in this darkness”
The sun setted way quicker than Starter thought, and they were both in pitch black darkness.
“Must be some kind of enemy, come here, we’re falling quickly! Hold this other lever next to me.
Starter sat himself near Chester, struggling to fit in, and held by another rusty metal lever.
“PULL!”
Shouted Chester
They both pulled as hard as they could and the nose of the mechanical machine sat up, not letting the two of them get in any kind of dangerous accident, because they landed on the machine’s belly and did not hit the ground head on.
The machine stopped eighty meters after touching the ground, creating a trail of dirt behind it, sprinkling bits and pieces of small stones and dirt all around the not so dense forest, right near a small setting of wooden homes made out of unusual colors of oaks. The homes were surrounded by a gathering of egg-white stone walls, one meter thick and one two meter high, with an open gate in the middle along with two guards standing one at each corner of the entrance. The lamps of light surrounded the homes, leaving no darkness between the few homes that were being there.
They both stepped out of the machinery, with Starter falling right on his face.
“I can’t feel my legs, I was so scared”
Said Starter, in a muffled way, having his face stuck in the dirt
“Aaaah, you’re such a wuss, come one”
Groaned Chester, taking a long item surrounded in gray clothing.
Right when he passed Starter by a meter, he thought that he was convincing.
“Please carry me”
Then he left by five meters. That was when Starter stopped joking around and ran after Chester so he wouldn’t be left behind.
