While Grant is going over the case with Tory, the news reports on a new crime from Smiley, a body is left cut to pieces with a bandsaw in an abandoned warehouse. The floor and walls are covered in blood and brain matter, and stuck to the wall is the photo of the killers mouth smiling.

AGENT: Grant, we have a new body, and this one is really bad, killer used a bandsaw.

Grant, Tory and the whole team arrive on scene, and they see the bloody massacre left behind, and very quickly realize the person killed was one of their agents, who went off by themselves to investigate and got killed.

TORY: This is one sick and sadistic freak, and we need to end this. Let me use my ability to blast him into space!

GRANT ELKINS: No! ... By the book. There is to be no other way. This agent did not listen, I specifically told him not to do this, this is why! .... This killer will not stop!

Tory looks angry, and under her breath mumbles that she can stop him, and will kill him if he she has to. As she investigates the crime scene, she gets that same strange sensation she had in the elevator, and begins to worry that her powers are becoming unstable, something a doctor warned her about.

Grant and Tory head back to the office as the crime scene team collects everything, and the entire ride, Tory is tapping her foot, and staring blankly.

GRANT ELKINS: I brought you on to do this the right way. We will get this person, just do it right.

They arrive back at the office, and are greeted by an agent with shocking news.

AGENT: They sent us a print from the scene, and it came back to someone ... The killer is not male, it's a female .... Her name is Lyla Winston, and apparently she used to work for the Weston City Police, but was fired.

GRANT ELKINS: This just keeps getting better. I was the one who terminated her, this is all just to send me a message isn't it ....

Tory walks off in anger, and leaves for the day.

TORY: I need to take this into my own hands, this task force is useless. Time for The Atom Woman to return!
