The hours passed slowly as Ren Haruki continued investigating the locations Nakai Haru mentioned. Dawn began to break, and the school lights gradually dimmed. Ren was still searching for any clues that could link the symbols to the crimes.
While inspecting a wall behind one of the buildings, he noticed something striking. The symbol he saw matched exactly with the ones that had appeared at the crime scene. A strange feeling stirred within Ren, as if he was getting closer to uncovering an important secret.
At that moment, Ikari Satsujin arrived at the school, having been absent for some time. He looked tired and worn out, but his eyes carried a strong determination. He met Ren and began speaking to him, "I've been looking for you. I need to tell you something important."
"What happened?" Ren asked, concerned.
"The person who committed the crime at the neighboring school is the same one who wrote these symbols. His name is Toshiro Nakajima, and he was being used by someone. He's hiding somewhere now, but we've discovered his location."
"Toshiro?" Ren asked, surprised. "Why hasn't Ikari shown up all this time?"
"Ikari was tracking Toshiro, but he had to stay undercover. Plus, there were some complications that made it difficult to reach him."
"I see. Where is Toshiro now?" Ren asked, hastening.
"He's been located in one of the old buildings in the city. We have information that he was planning to escape."
Ren and Ikari decided to move quickly to the designated location. The situation required cautious action, as they knew Toshiro might be armed or protected. Upon arriving at the site, they noticed that the building was abandoned, but they found signs indicating that someone was inside.
They entered the building slowly, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls. The atmosphere was dark, and the light was dim, making the situation even more challenging. Suddenly, they heard a noise coming from one of the rooms.
"Toshiro, we're here. There's no need to resist," Ikari called out firmly.
Toshiro emerged from the shadows, looking anxious and fearful. "What do you want from me? I didn't do anything!"
"You were just a tool in someone else's hands. We know you weren't the real criminal," Ren said, stepping closer to Toshiro.
As Ikari approached Toshiro to arrest him, Toshiro began to speak in a trembling voice: "There was someone... He was threatening me. He said that if I didn't follow his orders, he would cause harm... I can't tell you more..."
Suddenly, they heard a loud bang. In that instant, a bullet struck Toshiro in the head, and he collapsed to the ground.
"What?" Ren shouted, rushing to Toshiro. "Who fired that shot?"
They quickly searched for the source of the bullet, but there was no trace of the shooter. It seemed that the person who fired had vanished into the darkness. Ikari was furious and ran in an attempt to find the unknown assailant.
"Why? Why did you do this?" Ikari said angrily, looking at Toshiro's lifeless body. "I've been tracking this person because he was connected to the crime, but I had no idea there was another threat."
At that moment, Ren felt something strange. There was something incoherent about the story, and he felt that some threads were missing. "It seems like things are getting more complicated. We need to keep investigating."
Ren and Ikari returned to their offices, where they were questioned about the incident. The police were investigating the shooting, but they had no leads on the attacker. The case was moving toward more mystery.
In the office, Ren said to Ikari, "We need to focus on the person who was controlling Toshiro. There's still a lot we haven't uncovered."
"I agree. We need to understand how this person benefits from the crimes and how they can manipulate all these events."
Ren and Ikari continued reviewing the evidence and details. Things were becoming increasingly complex, with each clue leading to more questions.
With every step they took, there were signs that a hidden party was controlling everything and planning something bigger. Ren and Ikari had to be ready to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
