"So do you get it? i get this power because i have the urge to save people as fast as i can, hehe." Explained Narcissa finishing her story. Some people still have to went trough traumatic incident like hers even after surviving the catasthrope. I feel lucky to met her and Ali...

“What about you?” I turned my head to Ali and our eyes met “I'm good with fire” 

He pulled his big sword and muttered something with his eyes closed. In an instant his sword was lit in a hot flame. Considering how hot the area has become, Ali seems unbothered by it. 

"Fire may sounds basic, but magic is something that are unique each person, there are other people that use fire, but the magic itself is going to be different... You know what i will just show you right away." 

"Ustrina O Armum" Ali's voice echoed around the tree. The flame of the sword changed shapes, it goes wider and wrapped Ali, started from his chest to his stomach and arms. His upper body is coated in flame-like armor with Its abstract shape. I tried to take a look at the details but the armor struck my face. Before the flame gets to close, Narcissa pulled me back swiftly. 

"Don't touch it, that's his signature spell, Ustrina O Armum, a spell to protect people while also attacked enemies that comes in contact." Explained the girl

"Magic is all about creativity, Ali and i are the only one that can use our spell like that, I'm not really complaining though, it gives identity and makes each one of us special." She smiled 

“I see” I lay down on the sandy field, the cold breeze hitted my face smoothly. 

"Then Ian, what's your wish? I mean you defrosted a few moments ago. what are you gonna do?" Asked Narcissa.

In a moment a pictures of familiar faces appeared in my mind. Calvin and Oliver, my bestfriend

“I don't know” I smiled. 

"Come on don't be like that, mana can do a lot of things you know!" She hestitated.

"Probably living like a normal person.. you know, studying, and hanging out with my bestfriends after all day working, but those wishes feels harder to achieve in this world now."

Ali and Narcissa didn’t say anything. 

"That's still do-able." Said Ali while putting his sword down

"Huh?" He left me in confusion "Yeah that's really possible." Replied Narcissa, she stretched her arms and hips before sitting next to Ali.

"Younger people tends to be defrosted more than adults, even in our base in churchbell, everyone is under 25 years old you know, you might as well meet them there!" Said her to me with a bright smile, i could feel a weird sensation filled my body, i think this is what you call as hope. 

"Also if they're not there, doesn't meant they don't survive the catasthrope, it also means that they're not defrosted yet." Ali replied again "-Moreover, some people have magic that can be used to gather information and tracking people down, including our captain, The Leader of Churcbell. Our base." 

i let out a sigh and started to laying down. “I guess, there is nothing mana can’t do” said me. 

"The chances of meeting someone from your previous life is low, but not complete zero." Said Narcissa, she's now laying too, a few meters from me. 

 "I’ll have to agree” Replied Ali, 

 “When I was frozen… I kept seeing how i died… We were attacked by someone, we almost made it out together until I get a bit too careless." Explained me “The memories is repeated multiple times inside those frozen cocoon which left me a bit…” I look at them and turn my head up again “haunted.” It’s like experiencing death everyday, every hour, and every seconds.

“I have those dreams too... Somebody said that It must be the ice cocoon, it was infused with some mana so it can enhance our body in a trade for an absolute flaw or side effect.” Said Narcissa, "But who knows? the mysterious power that came to us is rather a mystery." 

“The only thing I know is that i need to grow stronger in order to  survive in this new world.” Said Ali. All three of us are in silent until Narcissa break the atmosphere

"AHHH I'm so tired, my legs is dying after going after that snake, he's a fast one." I guess it's understandble, travelling for the whole day is surely tiring, I think It's the time to get rest. Ali gets up and took some sand into his hands, then he rubs them against each other and whisper something softly “SIc Infit” the sand fell and turned into a flame. I feel a warm light coating our bodies, the cold breeze doesn’t hit my skin harshly anymore. The cold wind has change into a warm air that circulating around us. Without me realizing, Narcissa had fallen asleep.

"cool” I said while getting back up carefully trying not to disturb the sleeping girl beside me. 

“You’re still awake?” ask Ali to me. “yes.” I replied.

“Can you teach me to do that?” I asked him

“Everyone has a different type of mana, your mana may not be compatible with my magic." 

"Furthermore, it usually takes a few days to be able to feel your own mana and use magic, forcing it may bring harm.” Said Ali "You should not rush things out, go take a rest." 

“You can just teach me the basic” I insist, I need to find Oliver and Calvin, being able to use magic will helps.

He sighed “Give me your hands” I gave him my hands, then he put his index finger on my palm. His expression is as fierce as usual with it’s brows a bit arched. “Now, close your eyes.” I trust Ali’s instruction, but it’s just dark and nothing actually happened. “It’s just dark.”

“Ian, feel it.” A bit annoyed, I took a deep breath trying to “feel something”  that I’m not even sure myself. Later a wave-like string shaped floating around me, each one of them are different in terms of color and texture.

“You saw them? Stay focus.”

A new string formed in front of my face, the string glows bright with it’s darkish color waving slowly to me. Honestly It looks like a thin blackcurrant juice that glows and float around to me. The string move slowly towards me as if I’m absorbing it into my body. I don't remember anything, suddenly i woke up tommorow morning laying next to the oasis. The sun hits my eyes directly with it’s sharp glow “argh… shit.”

“Hey” It’s Narcissa’s voice “Open your eyes slowly.” 

“You passed out after few convulsions.” I saw Ali sitting down next to Narcissa “I had to wake her up, you should have been more patient"

"You just defrosted Ian, usually people will take some time to use their mana. Forcing it can destroy your organs." I can't focus on Narcissa's explanation as my body started to feel weird, I feel like my back is warm which slowly burns and become hot. I'm struggling to catch my breath with the pain on my body. 

“My back...” Narcissa and Ali looked to me "It... HArjh-" suddenly the pain hurt really bad. 

It's like my back is burning, I took off my shirt even though it's not doing anything and tried to crawl into the oasis “Ian, wait.” 

“I-I can’t." After i get really close to the water the pain is suddenly gone. 

“It’s already gone?” Asked Ali as he walks to me. “What just happened?”  i asked him

for a second my body feels like it was on fire. They didn’t say anything, as he get closer Ali pushed me down. “What are you-“ “Look at that.” His sharp eyes are looking at the water behind me, I turn my head and the reflection of face are seen clearly. My pupils are shaking... In a moment i could feel my blood rushes trough my vein, the pain on my muscle and body has gone. I could hear the sound of a wind scratching rocks and sand. The sound of my heart beating, water dripping from the underside of the leaves and the water that vibrates in the oasis. My vision widened and the distance grew longer every time I blinked, a little panicked by the changes that occurred make me hard to breath. I saw so many things, at the point where it’s making me dizzy.

“Ian” Narcissa is calling me but I can’t focus with the nauseous feeling wrapped around my head. “You have to endure it.” Our eyes met, as if her golden eyes struck me and made me came back to reality. "The mana is evaporating, his body can't held the mana." Said narcissa 

A mysterious words echoed in my head while a magic glyph slowly formed under us. “I can’t control it” I tried to stop it with all of my will but nothing happened, a circular wave came in a moment, pushing Ali and Narcissa a few meters from me."

 “Narcissa” Said Ali while taking off his sword “I get it, lend me a hand.”  Both Narcissa and Ali run towards me “Ali, get down!” Narcissa used Ali's back as a platform

“Celer” She jumped really high and look for the perfect angle

“Silens” The second phase of her spell has started, she is ready to shoor after tracking me with her optics. I’m ready to be shot, maybe it’s all my fault for being too impatient. She’s behind me aiming for my neck.

“Celer” instead of finishing me off, Narcissa dashes toward me while making a zapping sound which made me surprised. Narcissa get close to me really fast as a weird wave came out of me and struck her swiftly.

“Eh!” she shrieked, our head bumped onto each other leaving both of us fell into the sand. The dizziness turns into a headache. Narcissa groaned too, I can’t remember anything as everything began to becomes dark. I fainted.

When I was still asleep, I felt a light shining into my eyes, so bright that it pierced the eye muscles which were still in a relaxed state. I reflexively woke up and saw a dozen of giant flowers that are different in terms of size, The sand where I passed out, is no more a sand, but a green grass that feels cold. I'm not familiar with flowers, i only know rose since it's popular. But a flower caught my eyes, it's a lily. I remember it pretty well, back when i was younger i got sick easily. My parents brought me to a doctor and i was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer... The news broke my parents apart. A surgery needed even though the chance is quite low, i insist to took the surgery. The chance of the surgery to succeeded was only 26% i believed that a miracle would happen. I really went for it, i guess miracle really happened back then, i survived the surgery. Because of my sickness i often absent in school which made me didn't had a lot of friends. I didn't think other kids even knew that i've been going trough cancer all this time. Despite that, Oliver and Calvin that heard the news came to the hospital, they brought a flowers and a few fruits. It was a lilies. 

I turned my attention to the lilies in front of my eys. The lilies are weird colored, its white crown followed with a smooth gradation of green and purple. The lilies didn’t smell, but every lilies glow every second, just like the shiny lamp we put on a Christmas tree that has it’s own shining pattern. Beside me with the odd glowing lilies, everything around me is pitch black. I can’t see the end of this place because of how dark this place is. I could see the giant lilies are started to blooming in a slow pace. As it blooms, the flower slowly looks like it is fading and disappearing into grains of light. Then the light felt like it was being sucked in by me, it felt like every breath I took brought them into me.

A magic gylph formed in mid air, it creates a weird symbol or a gylph that I didn’t understand with a lily as the center of the gylph. 

A words worded in my ears, as if i understand the meaning of the magic gylph. I could hear the sound of chanelled energy and the sound of water. Suddenly a burst of water from nowhere hits my face.

“IAN!” I looked around and saw Ali with a guy playing with a dolphin like creature, it looks exactly like dolphin but this thing looks like it’s created from water. “I thought you’re gone for good.”

My head feels heavy as I tried to stand up. “Where are we?” I asked him

“We’re at churchbell” The guy replied, “I heard that your magus bursted uncontrollably and accidentally hitted Narcissa?”

“Oh…what about Narcissa?” I tried to follow the conversation even though my head still ache.

“She’s all good, just on some sleeping spell. I suppose she will wake up a few more hours.” I noticed that the room looks unusual, it’s filled with weird water creature, I see a small octopus crawled under my bed, It seems that the creature managed to wake me up. I also see a pigeon, a little cub, a seagull, a penguin, and a tigerfish that are created from water.

“His name is Sammy, our doctor in churchbell.” Said Ali. “Nice to meet you new guy, I'm sam.” He waved and smiled. A mark can be seen on his palm, it looks like a whale. His hair is dark with a little wave texture, followed with his skin that are a bit tan, but not as tan as Ali, the type of skin that u’ll get if u are sunbathing at beach.

“I suppose you’re one of the people of The 7th cycle of defrosting” Asked him, but i'm not really sure what cycles am i from. 

“We got this device at the church---It looks like a globe.” Explained Sammy excitedly, he looks really happy despite me being a stranger. 

"Every 6 months the globe shows defrosting people’s location with a dots, sometimes they came with a little description of power that you possessed.” He got the calm but cheerful presence that made me feel relieved. 

“A new dot dissapeared when Ali brought u here, so I guess it’s you.” He chuckles

“You’re right.”

“Hmmmm” Sam looked at me from head to toe “Your magic is pretty interesting.” Said Sam

“Sucsesfully knocking out Narcissa, she’s one of the best adventurer in churchbell.”

“Even though it’s uncontrollable, your spell can be considered as a strong skill if it’s able to clap Narcissa out.” Said Sam while picking up his water cub. He changed his gaze to the cub as he rubs it’s forehead.  I'm still annoyed with the fact that my clothes are wet and uncomfy, i tried to stood up and took off my wet shirt but my head ache so bad that i just took it off while sitting.

“On the other hand, he needs to control those power, it’s not destructive but a control skill is always wonderful-” 

“-and dangerous.” Ali replied.

“What if you take him for a short tour? I'll check on Narcissa” Said Sam.

Later Ali drew a circle in the air and added a few symbol in it, a few piece of clothes appeared. “You should change your wet clothes."

The clothes is unlike our modern clothes, Mine is a long wide pants with a few pockets, while the top fits my body perfectly, covered in a chest vest I also got this bag that Sam gave. He puts his hand on my shoulder and winked, "You'll need this." He handed me a small waist bag "It has some complex storaging spell so you don't have to worry about carrying many things with your hands." I nodded "thanks" seems like the clothing style in this era also changed to make adventuring easier? At least, that’s what I thought. 

"Then we'll have to go, i'll leave Narcissa to you." Said Ali 

"Don't worry about her." Sam smiled
