WELLS
I wake up before Easton to see him peacefully sleeping, completely wrapped in all the blankets. I mean all of the blankets he has on this bed are wrapped around him. I couldn't help but start laughing at the sight of it. Before he wakes up I pull out my phone and get a picture of it.
The noise of the camera snapping made me freeze, worried I woke him up. He needs more rest than just this. I promise I won't leave until he wakes up so I'm going to stay here. Luckily it seems like nothing is going to wake him up right now.
I put my phone on the side table now that I have the photo. When I turn back over I can't help myself from staring at Easton.
I mean, he's a mess to put it simply. He has blankets strewn across him, has bed head, and is softly snoring. But I find myself thinking how adorable it is that he's wrapped with all those blankets. How cute his auburn hair looks right now. How id be fine waking up to hear him snoring like this.
“How long are you going to stare at me Well?” Easton tiredly asked.
“How long have you been up?” I ask, trying to tell how long he's known I've been looking, worried he's known the whole time.
“I don't know. Since you set your phone down I think.” He guessed.
Well fuck.
“I don't know what you saw but I wasn't staring at you”I protested.
Easton started to sit up against his headboard as he said, “Okay, sure. Anyway, do you want to stay for breakfast, or leave now?”
Wells hesitated, thinking about his response. I don't want to overstay my welcome.
But his stomach growled loudly, abruptly stopping his train of thought.
Easton says, “From the sound of it you do want to stay” he almost stutters out almost laughing, so I did.
……………….
I had no idea that Easton could cook but it smelled like heaven. This was a side of him he never thought he would see. When Easton finished they sat at the table. Both sitting at the table, it’s old from the looks of it signs of wear and tear as I stared at it refusing to look Easton in the eyes or start the conversation. With tension thick with awkwardness Easton starts.
“Thank you ... .for coming over I mean” he hesitated.
“Yeah, it's no problem, I mean you asked me for help” I responded unsure if what I was saying was right.
“I mean, you're probably wondering what even happened and I just don't really like know how to say um well..” he added
Was he really trying to explain himself to me? He doesn't have to do that, I don't need to know, it's his life and if he doesn't want to share he doesn't have to.
“East, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, okay? But if you want to, I'm here to listen” I insisted. I almost moved my hand to hold his but stopped myself, thinking it's not my place.
He sighed before replying, looking generally relieved. “Thank you, Well. It's not that I don't want to tell you it's just too close to last night for me to talk about it” he finished, before his face brightened into a smile.
He's too handsome for his own good.
“...”
“...”
“Well, I think I should be heading out if you're good now. I kinda left Flora in a rush so I have to give her a good excuse.” I explained. With that I grabbed my plate and started to stand up.
“Well. Wait.” Easton rushed out as he stood up too and took but mine and his plates to the sink. When he turned around we locked eyes.
I was too busy looking at his eyes to notice he was walking towards me until he was hugging me. I froze before hugging him back.
“Thank you, Well. Thank you so much” He mumbled into my neck before letting me go and backing up. “Anyway, I can show you the way out” He said in a monotone as if he was trying to hide something before walking away.
“You're welcome East” I whispered before following him.
