The god of death drinks likes to get a drink sometimes.

Whenever Shijin had a strong craving for a drink, he would make his way down to the human realm since they had the best alcohol.
Changing himself into his human form, he entered a popular yet low key establishment that served all kinds of drinks throughout the night. As he entered the bar, all eyes were on him as everyone couldn't believe how such a handsome person could exist.
Shijin was dressed in black from head to toe wearing a black turtleneck with black slacks and a black trench coat to complete the look. His usual long black hair that reached the back of his knees were shorter reaching his shoulders this time and his golden irises that carried the flames of eternal rest were now a shade of black in order to blend in with the humans.
Despite wanting to look as inconspicuous as possible, he still stood out with sharp features and pale skin. He opted to sit at the bar away from prying eyes as he ordered a strong dark liquor sipping it in one go.
"Another please." He said to the bartender who looked at him with wide eyes while quickly filling up his glass.
Shijin's long and pale fingers delicately wrapped around the glass as he gracefully brought the drink to his lips, inhaling the drink as if it were the last drop of water on earth.
The people inside the bar couldn't help but watch in awe as the man downed drink after drink without looking the least bit inebriated. Instead he leisurely sat on the stool with his legs crossed, casually looking around the bar.
A group of girls that had been eyeing him since the moment he walked in giggled to themselves as they wondered who out the group could manage to get the man's number.
One brave soul got the courage as she took a swing of her drink, fixing her dress and patting her blond hair as she sauntered towards him. She casually leaned on the counter making sure to draw attention to her cleavage as she asked the bartender for another drink.
The bartender in question couldn't help but roll his eyes as he saw through her act. She couldn't have been more obvious as she sneaked a couple glances his way. She was a beautiful young woman with bouncy blond waves cascading down her back. Her makeup was a little on the heavier side, hiding her naturally pretty features which gave her a rather garish appearance. Fortunately she wore a simple dress that didn't make her stand out too much, instead enhancing her figure nicely. She was a complete knockout and it was clear she knew it herself too.
As she drew closer to the handsome man hoping to get a reaction out of him, Shijin was bored out of his mind wondering what he was going to do for the next hundred years.
It wasn't until the young lady tapped his shoulder that he acknowledged her presence. He obviously knew what her intentions were hence the reason why he acted like he didn't see her in hopes it would drive her away. He had told himself he would no longer get involved with humans, even one as pretty as this human. They truly weren't worth the trouble.
He sighed. "Yes, how may I help you?" He said while giving her a polite smile.
The blond took his smile as an invitation and so she leaned in closer to him and whispered in a low honeyed voice. "I haven't seen you here before, do you come here often?"
Of course you've never seen me here before, I don't live here.
"No, it's my first time." He said in a curt tone.
"It's no wonder. What's a handsome guy like you doing alone? Why don't you join me for a drink?" She asked.
"I'm fine, I prefer to drink alone." He said flatly.
"Why~ Wouldn't you rather have fun with a pretty girl like me?" She said coquettishly.
Ugh, this human is insufferable.
"I am fine, really. You wouldn't have much fun with a gloomy guy like me anyway."
"C'mon don't be like that~" She said while tugging at his arms.
Shijin flinched at the sudden contact. He was slowly getting annoyed with her and was this close to flicking her away. He could no longer tolerate her behavior so he shot her a deadly look causing her to freeze in terror.
She slowly got out of her chair as she gave a quick apology before running away.
Finally some peace and quiet. He thought to himself.
The god of death enjoyed a couple more drinks before signaling to the waiter that he wanted to pay for his tab. He reached into his pocket to pull out his wallet and handed his credit card over to the man.
Once the payment was made, he got up and left the bar not knowing that he had left something extremely valuable behind.
For over a millennium, Shijin has been the god of death, understanding the vital role he plays but growing disillusioned with its lack of appreciation. In a moment of reckless compassion, he saves a woman destined to die and faces severe consequences. Stripped of his divine powers and demoted to a mere miner god, Shijin retreats to Earth, seeking solace in a bar where he leaves behind a significant artifact—his ring. Noa, a 25-year-old woman haunted by the loss of her family, fears death more than anything.
