AN: This is a short story I wrote for class a few years back set in my Old Beginnings Universe :) Hope you enjoy

“I remember,” Trea says, his voice muffled by his face clapped in his knees.
James smiles, “Yeah... I was terrified, I thought that with my arm gone I wouldn't be able to work and help the soldiers, but you came by every day and reminded me to keep my hopes up,” James looks at Trea knowingly. “But now you've lost hope haven't you?” A silence echoes as James pauses. “And I know you're really tired and old, but-” James stops for a moment before saying, “Fletcher, you of all people have to know that you are an important, smart, and the best friend that anyone could have asked, no matter what you might've done last night.”
Trea looks up and sniffles, “Ha… Yeah, you're a good friend too.” Trea smiles.
“Now we should probably get back inside! There's a strange government woman is there that we should explain things too,” The two chuckle, and Trea wipes any remaining tear away before they get up and walking back inside to the kitchen table where Julianna waits. She looks nervous and a bit awkward feeling from being left alone in a stranger's house.
“Okay, I have been doing some research on the stones in the necklaces and I don’t think you can just get immortality,” James holds his head in his hands, he is tired.
“What!” Julianna immediately shouts, getting angry again. Trea looks intrigued at James.
“Yeah sorry about that, but that with different stones you will get different abilities.”
“So you have another one!” Julianna isn’t yelling but is still fairly loud. “Why didn’t you tell me before!” James expression changes to a mixture of shock and suspicion.
“You don’t JUST want immortality, do you?”
Julianna changes from angry to shock to a defeated look in a moment She sighs, “Well it would be better if you knew…” Julianna pause, “The CSIS has been concerned that the US will invade and try to take over Canada for some time now. They sent me after suspension arous when an agent found a very old file an a Doctor Trea Fletcher-” James and Julianna both look at Trea. “-who worked in both World War one and World War two. They found pictures and military letters talking about extraordinary powers of self-healing, some sort of ‘magic’ arrows, and reverse aging that the doctor used in World War one as a soldier.” Trea’s expression is one of horror as the words leave Julianna. Memories of devastation, death, and fear flash though Trea’s eyes.
“Fletcher… Y-you have been reverse aging?! How long is it till you-”
Trea cut James off, “It’s not reverse aging… It’s more of back and forth aging.”
“What! How is that possible?!” James yells in surprise and shock.
“Anything's possible, I thought you knew that already,” Trea looks at James. James just smiles.
“Can you show me the other stone?” Julianna says to James.
Still trying to process things James says, “Yeah uh sure...” as he gets up out of his chair. Julianna follows quickly behind him, Trea follows slower. James leads them to his bedroom, whispering flutters through the air, then to a room off his messy bedroom. The whispering becomes louder, just enough to hear but not enough to understand. The room is full of glass cases that line the walls, all except one are empty. A small hair clip with a big blue turquoise oval gem and many smaller sharp triangle ones around the big one is encases it in the center glass case.
“What the…?!” Trea lingers just outside the bedroom.
Julianna’s eyes grow wide, almost as if she knows what the whispers are saying. “Can I hold it?” Julianna says, staring at the shining hair clip.
“Sure,” James voice is unsure. He opens the glass case with a key from his pocket before grabbing the hair clip and handing it to Julianna. Trea enters the bedroom slowly, he is trying to hear what the whispering is saying.
“Be careful, it’s not delicate but is easy to drop,” James says a bit more sure. Julianna ignores him and just stares at the hair clip. “Why did the CSIS want one of these anyways?” James questions.
“The CSIS wanted to see if they could weaponize it…” Julianna stares at the hair clip more intently.
Trea looks at them before seeing the hair clip, “Wha-!” Trea is cut off by Julianna putting on the hair clip followed by a burst of wind. James is knocked into the glasses cases, breaking some, and making him unconscious. Trea is knocked onto James bed.
“HAHAHAHA!” Julianna’s laugh is something from a horror movie, evil, maniacal, insane. The window open fast, putting cracks in some. Wind surrounds Julianna. Trea looks at her terrified. Her eyes glow bright blue, almost like flashlights. She looks taller. Leaves start to flies around the room.
“Ms. Chocan, you have to calm down!” Trea yells, trying to be heard over the loud wind.
“Ha, ha, ha! No! Not when this feels so good!” Julianna voices is now a deep angry sound, not like it was earlier.
“Don’t make me do this!” Trea pleads as he makes an arrow appear. The arrow is fire red and glowing, ashes float around the arrow.
Anger influches Julianna, her expression full of anger with a hint of sadness. Trea tries to stand up from the bed but Julianna shoves him back down as she passes. “Shut up!” She yells.
“Sorry,” Trea whispers and, his hand burning, throws the arrow. It flies through the air, but not the right way. The wind bends the arrows direction, going backwards into the off room. Times slows, leaves swirling through the wind, Trea rushing off the bed after the arrow, James just regaining consciousness. The arrow sink into James lower stomach. “NO!” Trea screams. James coughs up blood. The twos eyes meet. The wind slows.
“No! No! No! I’m sorry! James! No!” Trea panicked yells at James. “Come on, James! James, don’t go into the light!” The arrows fades. Blood starts to pool around James. Trea starts to cry, holding James as he lays there.
Coughing James says; “It’s okay. I know it’s not your fault… Just… Just remember to keep your-” James coughs, “-keep your chin up a-and don’t lose hope…” James pats Trea on the head, ruffling his hair making it even messier. Trea starts to tear up. “Ha, Ha… You always were so emotional…” James smiles, happy to be at his friend’s side. His eye cloud over. Trea holds James closes in a hug, as he balls his eyes out for a moment.
Trea rushes outside. Julianna is struggling to fit in her car. “Hey!” Trea shouts. Julianna looks over at him, her face a monsterous look of fury. With the wind swirling, leaves flying, Trea crying in anger and grief, and Julianna turning into a tall angry monster resembling no likeness from her former self, time almost pauses for Trea as he makes two arrows appear. One looks as if Trea had just ripped it off a tree, covered in leaves and small branches but as sharp as an axe. The other looks like it was carved from a mirror, it made of ice so polished it could be mistaken for shares of a mirror. The wind slowing down and Julianna expression changing to a look of surprise, Trea throws the arrows. The two arrows slice through the air arriving in a second to sink into what use to be Julianna’s heart. The wind stops as Julianna drops to the dirt road, dead. Trea falls to his knees, the adrenaline leaving his body, and sobs.
Time passes fast for Trea. when he stops crying and has the strength to stand up Trea goes back inside to James shed. James small little shed is a messy of tools and inventions. It reflects James. Trea grabs James’s shovel and digs two holes in James backyard.
“There it’s… finally done,” Trea sad looks into the two holes, remembering the good times he had with James. Knowing he can never see James again Trea quickly looks up at the now raining sky and whispers out, “Goodbye James.” He stands there for a moment before going into the house. The walk to James is silent and slow. Trea, his face with a small smile, picks up James and takes him to the hole. He delicately puts James into the now muddy hole and then buries him.
“I’m sorry… my friend,” His old friend now buried six feet under Trea lets out one final tear. Done, Trea walks around the house to Julianna. Julianna, now heavier than James, has to be dragged to the hole. As she is being dragged a small card falls out of her dresses pocket, curious Trea picks it up. The small card is Julianna’s CSIS ID card. “You definitely look different now,”  Trea, not thinking, quickly says as he looks at the ID’s picture than to the monster that now wears the muddy hair clip. “Maybe I will report it,” Trea says putting the ID card and hair clip into his pocket. Trea puts Julianna into the hole. “You did this to yourself.” Trea look down into the hole, his expression full of hatred and anger. He continues to bury the monster that Julianna had become. After he is done burying the monster he quickly goes into the the forest and gets four branches, than he goes to the shed and gets some rope and a knife. Trying his best not to think about it, he makes two small cross. He throws the knife into the ground and goes to gathers stones. Making sure that neither of the cross will fall over he sticks them into the muddy mess that is now James’s and the monsters graves and surrounds the cross in stones.
Sad, Trea walks back to Julianna's car and drives back to town. He he'll never meet anyone like James again.
Only one thing is on his mind as he drives, ‘I am going to make sure that no one ever uses the gems for weapons!’ Back in town, Trea goes to the passed police office, that he was held just hours ago, and straight to the town hall. He knows that either he'll be arrest or get to see some of authority.
Covered in mud and ready to start something insane Trea walks in and slams Julianna’s ID card and hair clip onto the secretary's desk, startling her. The secretary looks, speechless, at Trea.
“I would like to see Ms. Julianna Chocan supervisor.” Trea demands.
“Uh, yes sir right away.” Says the secretary, pretending to look into her files drawer but actually pressing the desks panic button.
Security and a man wearing a suit quickly come; “Can I at least get my stuff back, it important?!” Trea yells as security handcuff him and escorts him into a police car. The guy in the suit  gets joins the policeman in the car.
The policeman starts the car; “Doctor Trea Fletcher, I can either let this policeman arrest you or you can cooperate and come with me?” The man is the suit talks, his voice demands attention but yet is smooth and elegant.
“Are you an CSIS agent?!” Trea's word are aggressive.
“I may be or I may not be. Do you really care right now though?”
Trea pauses for a moment before answering; “I guess not. Lets go,” Trea's eye glow as his expression grow more angry.
The man answers as a whispering starts from his bag, “Alright then. Let us be off.”
