Fred POV

(WARNING! THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING:

-  Violence

-  Cursing)

Argh… My body hurts so much… Did I win the duel? Did I… lose? I don’t remember… The last thing I remember was this mark going in front of my eye. It was like the mark took complete possession of my body. Ater that… It was impossible for me to know what really happened… Suddenly, I was able to open my eyes. I was in my bed, covered with bandages, and my sensei was there, sitting right next to me, pretty troubled. With the pain that I could feel in my body, I was in a really bad shape… I hope that it’s not that ba…

“You’re going to be fine,” My sensei said.

“How do you know I am going to be fine?” I said.

“... Simply because I need to tell you something…”

“Is it about the mark?”

“Yes it is.”

He was clearly more serious than always. I was starting to be really curious about this mark. After all, it was the reason why I was able to keep up with my sensei, and it’s only when I was 5 the last time I used this mark. Even in my dreams… It feels like I was able to see memories but these weren't mine. Yeah, after all, sometimes, I was able to watch some people talking in another language that I shouldn’t normally understand, but I was able to. They were talking about… an expedition on Earth. Like an invasion! But… What is it already? WHAT IS THIS FUCKING MARK THAT IS RUINING MY LIFE SINCE DAY 1 WITH MY SENSEI!?

“Actually Fred… It is… Difficult for me to admit it and say it directly to you…” He said.

“WHAT IS IT!?” I said.

“Fred… You are actually a demon…” He said.

I was laughing so hard.

“Stop lying to me. I really want to know WHAT IS THIS MARK!!” I said.

“I’m not lying to you. Check this out.” He said.

My sensei then went in his bedroom and came back with two gigantic books.

“What are these books??” I said.

“These are books about demons.” He said.

He then scrolled the pages till he found out what he was searching for.

“OK, look! These demons have the same mark as you!”

The shock that I had from these pictures was terrible… During all this time, I was a… Demon? But… Why didn’t my sensei tell me this before? Because I was too young to understand? Or… Because he didn’t want me to lose control of my mark while training? Was he afraid that he wouldn’t be able to stop me if I would have lost consciousness?

“But, you’re not a normal demon. Do your dreams are about weird things like memories of other people?” He added.

“YES! EACH NIGHT I DREAM ABOUT THIS! But the scary thing is that it’s always different dreams.”

With his eyes looking really deep compared to normal, we could definitely tell that he knew exactly what was happening to me but he didn’t want to tell me. That’s why I am so angry right now. He is hiding something from me that I should definitely know. I’m not that stupid.

“Hmmm… I don’t know, maybe it is…” He was trying to say before I interrupt him

“SENSEI! I’M NOT STUPID! FOR SURE YOU KNOW SOMETHING! YOU JUST DON’T WANT TO TELL  ME!” I screamed.

He was completely shocked and surprised by my reaction. He definitely didn’t see that coming and it’s totally normal. Usually, I don’t get angry like that.

“I’m telling you: I don't know anything” He said.

“You are lying. Tell me the truth! I want to know the truth about me, about who I am…” I said.

“ENOUGH!” He screamed

I was starting to feel bad. Yeah, after all, if he is telling the truth, I was searching for an answer that might not even exist.

“Sorry Sensei…” I apologized.

“It’s fine,” He said. “After all, you are curious haha!”

He took a long breath before continuing.

“Anyways… Now that you know the truth… I think it’s finally time for you to make your first step outside the perimeter of the house”

“What do you mean by that?”

“It’s time for you to visit our village alone, of course when you will recover. It should take just a week or t…”

“WAIT! Did you just said… OUR village!?”
