The umbrella man pointed his hand towards Rin. A white aura surrounded his hand. That arura turned Rin's sword into a rope. Rin was startled and was still in the air after that jump. The rope tied Rin's body and she crashed to the floor. That hurt!
Everything happened in split seconds. Rin didn't even get the time to understand what just happened. She was too shocked to speak.
Kai complained, "Brother Mai! why did you do that? If Lord comes to know-"
Mai interrupted, "We don't have much time...people will start noticing us..."
Kai mentioned in a low voice, "there are already a lot of people surrounding the house"
Mai looked around to understand the situation and ordered, "Tai! Disperse the crowd. Kai! Cook a nice dish"
Tai and Kai replied in unison, "Yes! big brother!"
As Mai approached Rin, she crawled away from him to a corner. She was terrified and breathing heavily.
He then spoke calmly in an assuring voice, "It's okay....we won't hurt you....we are just your father's friends...."
Those words weren't enough to gain her trust so, he picked up a book lying on the floor and started turning the pages quickly. Then he stopped suddenly and showed a page to her.
On the left side, there was a picture of her father with those three white-haired men. On the right side, there was something scribbled on it.
"I wish I could see them again, my true friends"
It looked familiar; she didn't take much time to recognise it. It was her father's handwriting.
Sensing that Rin has calmed a bit, Mai untied the Rin using his aura. He then helped Rin get up and took her to the kitchen.
Rin was following everything he said. It wasn't like she completely trusted them based on the photograph. She just understood that they're too powerful and some things are beyond her imagination.
