Azazel and Kreo walked towards Sarah and Elysia with the others.
"What's happening right now?" Azazel asked.
"We are guessing the winner of the matching outfits competition." Sarah said. "We already guessed the second and third winners but not the first yet."
"Is it you and Elysia? Alex and Elise?" Kreo asked.
"No unfortunately, but we haven't tried me and Adrian," Lilith said.
Alex raised his hand before shouting Lilith and Adrian's names.
"They could've been! But their outfits aren't matching tonight!" The host said. "Maybe it's someone near you in that group."
Everyone started talking and everyone in that group already asked if they won but it wasn't. Everyone was confused and the host slapped his forehead as he kept waiting.
"Can't be us," Azazel said. "We're in a mess!"
"Hey!" The hostess said. Everyone looked at her. "You may be in a mess now doesn't mean you both were messy the entire evening!"
"Then it's them!" Sarah shouted and jumped as she held up Azazel's arm.
"Finally!" The host said. "Please make your way here."
The evening finished with Azazel and Kreo receiving their prizes: a light grey baby hamper for Kreo and free couples resort tickets for Azazel.
As they contemplated their unexpected gifts, Kreo jokingly questioned if the hamper was a sign for something. Azazel covered his face as Kreo brought laughter from the crowd. Eventually, the night ended, and as they waited for their ride home.
"I'm hungry," Azazel said as his stomach growled.
It was 12.30 am, everything was closed. Kreo and the driver looked around until they found a fast food place to order at a drive-thru. Azazel finished everything before falling asleep in the car as Kreo followed.
"Azazel," Kreo said in a soft voice.
"Five more minutes..." Azazel mumbled before going back to sleep.
Kreo smiled at this before gently carrying Azazel inside, careful not to wake him. As they entered his home, Kreo laid Azazel down on bed before fetching a blanket that covered Azazel. With a smile, Kreo whispered, "Sweet dreams, my love," before joining Azazel on bed and drifting off to sleep himself.
"Oh, Kreo!" A voice shouted.
Kreo jolted awake before shaking Azazel up. They both heard the voice before the door burst open.
"Good morning," A blonde woman stood there. "How was last night's gala? And who was-" she paused, staring at Azazel and Kreo on bed.
Kreo jumps out of bed while Azazel hides under the sheets. Kreo slowly pushed his mother outside of the door before closing it, Azazel peeked out of the sheets and sighed in relief. He looked at himself, still in the dress.
He got up and searched through Kreo's closet before something that could fit him. He still doesn't understand how big that man is.
"Is that the girl from the gala?" Kreo's mother asked.
Kreo nodded.
"Well, why is she in your bed?" Kreo's mother asked another. "Did you both do something last night?" She giggled.
"Darla, stop teasing your son." Kreo's father said which stopped Kreo's tracks. "At least our son found someone to bring and not be shamed by everyone."
"Alexander," Darla said in a strict tone. "Why must you always sound like that to our son? He is trying his best-"
Their fight started while Karla went up the stairs, scared of her parents. She ran into Kreo's room where Azazel was laying on bed scrolling his phone, Karla was happy to see him but Azazel wasn't.
"Shh!" Azazel whispered to her, he explained the problem to her and she understood.
Once he was dressed, he peeked out of the door cautiously to make sure Kreo's parents had finished their discussion.
Seeing that the coast was clear, Azazel hurriedly made his way downstairs, hoping to avoid awkward encounters. Karla followed closely behind, offering him a smile as they went down together.
Kreo just stood aside, his parents still fighting. He noticed Karla and Azazel as they came down.
"Aria!" Kreo said as he ran to Azazel.
Darla and Alexander stopped.
"Morning," Azazel replied with a smile.
"My parents are..." Kreo whispered.
Azazel knew. "Anyways, your sister knows I'm going to be Aria for a while."
Kreo nodded as he pushed both of them to the living room, Darla and Alexander noticed and followed them. Azazel and Karla sat on the couch, talking about school when Darla came and sat next to him.
"Hello, Aria." She smiled. "So you're the girl that Kreo brought to the gala?'
Azazel nodded, "It actually is an honour to meet you both." Azazel said. "You must be Darla James! The previous generation hero!"
"You remember?" Darla asked happily.
Azazel nodded.
[Azazel's POV]
I am definitely fucked. Why are Kreo's parents here? Why are they fighting? Are they judging?
"Are you hungry yet?" Darla asked. "Let's go out for lunch,"
"Lunch?" I asked, not knowing the time. "Kreo, what time is it?"
"1pm.." Kreo said, even more surprised.
We looked at each other as we excuse ourselves to go change out clothes.
"Why are they here?" I asked Kreo with concern.
"I don't know either, no text, no calls, they just came in here!" Kreo whispered back to me.
We both didn't know what to do at this sudden arrival. Kreo changed his clothes as he gave me his smaller ones to wear.
"At least they're nice to you," Kreo said to me. "They kept asking if I fucked you last night,"
"Ew." I answered him.
We went down, they were already in a car waiting. Me and Kreo sat at the back with Karla as their parents sat in the front.
"You look familiar, Aria," Darla suddenly said. "Don't you think so Karla?"
Azazel started silent, Darla used to pick Karla up a few times if the maidens were busy with something else.
"No," Karla answered. "Big sis is pretty, how can anyone look like her!"
Kreo and I laughed.
"She's your big sister already?" Kreo asked.
"Can't she?" Karla replied.
"So, what do you like to eat, Aria?" Darla asked.
"I'm craving soup right now, but anything would be all right," I replied.
Darla then whispered something to her husband, and Kreo looked confused.
"What?" I whispered to Kreo, but he just shrugged in response.
We soon arrived at a restaurant that already had a reservation. Karla and Kreo sat next to me while their parents sat across from us. We ordered some food and continued our conversation.
"So, Aria, how old are you?" Alexander asked.
"19," I answered simply, not really caring what they thought.
"Anyways, did you both win the costume contest?" Darla asked politely. "We didn't finish watching as we fell asleep."
"Yes, we did," Kreo replied. "We got first place, thanks to her idea for our outfits."
"That's nice," Darla said. "Kreo, have you met her parents?"
"Oh..." Kreo hesitated. "Her parents..."
"They've passed," I answered bluntly.
His parents fell silent until the food arrived. I ordered pasta and mushroom soup and ate quite a lot. Darla looked at her husband and then back at me.
Later, as we headed home, Darla handed me two small boxes.
"Use them," she said. "I'll be back tomorrow for you to tell me the results."
