Wrapping his arms around Lom, Fah waited several minutes for Lom to push him away, make a remark, or (in his dream) pull his arms around him tighter. Lom didn't react, so Fah wasn't sure if he was still awake.
Like a phantom slowly emerging from the darkness Fah's tongue reached out to brush against Lom's ear. Once again Lom didn't react.
Bolder, his mouth encased Lom's earlobe, gently tugging on it before releasing it to slide down to his neck. He kissed his way from Lom's jawline to his nape, then down to his shoulder, each growing more insistent. The familiar desire for the man next to him began to burn.
He rolled Lom onto his back, his passion for Lom had grown from a spark to a flame. At this moment all he wanted was to once again feel Lom inside of him, to ride him, sliding up and down on his sizeable cock. All Lom needed to say was one word and Fah would give himself back to Lom in every way possible for the rest of their lives. The word he heard was the one he least expected.
"Stop!" Lom's tone was direct and uncompromising. Instantly Fah released his grasp and gasped.
"I'm sorry," was all his blank mind could produce. His face, flushed with desire only seconds ago, was now red with shame. He sat up, unsure of what to do or say.
Lom sat up and faced him. "How dare you!"
"What? Why are you mad? I thought we..."
"Thought we what? Were together? Were a couple again?" Lom cocked his head, his eyebrow raised. "You chose someone else last night. Your friends threatened me if I came near you so your opinion of me isn't a good one. This morning you weren't even sure if you wanted to see me again. So what? I'm not good enough to date but I'm good enough to fuck?"
Fah regarded him and noticed the fury in his eyes and resentment on his face. Fah opened his mouth, his throat bobbed up and down several times as he attempted to defend his actions, but no words came out.
The veins on Lom's neck stood out as he said, "The difference between us is that I never once stopped respecting you."
"You kidnapped me," said Fah, a hint of triumph in his tone.
"I had no idea you were at the judge's house that night."
"You shot me."
"After you killed my best friend in front of me, shot two others, and almost ruined the job Ton assigned to me. We both know what Ton would have done if I had failed. Also, I shot you in the arm, not your head, heart, or thigh which would have killed you. Don't forget, I brought a doctor to you immediately to help."
"You slept with Somchai," said Fah.
"When I was with him in high school, you and I didn't exist as a couple. Since the day of the attacks, neither of us knew the other was alive, so we didn't exist as a couple."
"Fine! You can defend yourself all you want, but I have never disrespected you. You're the one who has always caused the problems in our relationship!" As soon as the words left his mouth he witnessed the pain on Lom's face. Fah slapped his mouth, "Oh God, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that."
Instead of reacting angrily, Lom remained quiet. Each moment of silence increased Fah's remorse. At last, Lom spoke.
"You're not wrong. My family, my job, my actions...I've always been the cause of our problems. That's why when you ran away from my condo I didn't try to stop you. I wanted you to live the life you should, to be happy." Again silence fell between them for a minute before Lom said, "I did that out of respect for you."
"When haven't I respected you?" asked Fah.
"Today."
"Today? You mean just now in bed? I wasn't going to do anything without your consent!"
"Today, when you joined me at breakfast covered in marks made by another man. Today when you told me you weren't sure if you would see that stranger again. Today when you made me his equal by saying you weren't sure if you'd see me again. Today when you made up a lie to come to my hotel room instead of admitting you missed me."
"I'm not going to tell a stranger at the front desk that I missed you!"
"Today, when you left the bed of a stranger to eat breakfast with me, came to my hotel room most likely with his cum in your ass and his saliva all over your body, unshowered, slid into my bed next to me, and expected me to fuck you. You treat me like I'm not your next client at a brothel."
-Thwack
Fah's hand stung from the contact with Lom's face. He watched as the red handprint formed on Lom's cheek.
"Today, when for the second time since I've known you you've struck me because you didn't like something I said. I have never raised my hand to you." Lom stood. "I haven't slept enough, I'm getting a migraine. I'm going out to get some medicine. You can stay or leave, it's up to you. Take a nap if you want, I won't wake you when I get back." His voice sounded weary and he looked past Fah as he spoke.
"Are you going to disappear on me again? I can't do another two years," Fah said, his voice just above a whisper.
"Don't forget you weren't the only one waiting two years. I was in hell wanting nothing more than to see you alive once again."
"I'll wait."
"Mm," was all Lom said as he opened the door and left.
