The previous volley of arrows had taken down some of Pauly's troops. However, they eventually managed to reach the shore. As they ran towards the awaiting boat, an arrow hit Pauly's leg. In pain, he turned around and locked eyes with Jhadol. When Pauly looked down, he saw that all the warriors beside him had fallen, and he was left alone. He drew his dagger, lifted Flavia off the ground to use her as a shield, and pressed the dagger against her throat. In this situation, Jhadol ordered everyone to stop. Pauly forcefully boarded the boat he had arranged in advance and immediately threw himself into the lower deck. He securely tied Flavia to the pole in the room and examined the arrow embedded in his leg. In agony, he removed the arrow from his leg and quickly bandaged it before standing up and looking out the door. The boat had already set sail, but due to the arrow shots from the land, most of the crew had lost their lives. He locked his room's door and began praying in fear, hoping to safely survive the day.
Nothing had gone according to plan. He had initially hoped for Flarka to come, not Flavia. He had planned everything according to Flarka. When he learned that Flavia had arrived, he had to redesign his plan from scratch. He had miscalculated the abilities of the warriors following Flavia, as he had never witnessed them before. Although Marek played his role perfectly by saying that the Shinra stayed in the camp, this misconception had cost him his life as well. It was because of these strategic errors that he had lost his city. His only hope now lay in being able to deliver the country's princess to Sargan. He had bribed the Northern traders to secure a place for himself on the ship, but the majority of the crew's loss of life had made things extremely difficult. He knew very well that he was now a prisoner on this ship. And the presence of Jhadol there was a separate harbinger of disaster. He could even be pursued at sea. Pauly, hiding in fear, continued his prayers in his hiding place.
