Naaririel closed the portal door, and with a quick snap of his left fingers, the group were transported to a large room. It had a nice blue couch and a wooden oval table with a silver tray of various breads, fruits, and cheeses. A bottle of wine accompanied it. On the northwest side of the room, a small book shelf sat. The rest of the room was bare and empty.
“Welcome to the library.” He said as Coostaark sat on the couch, Elyn walked over to the book shelf, Lilian on top of her head. “It’s in the beginning stages.” Naaririel added joining Elyn by the bookshelf.
Elyn chooses a random, worn-down book. It was a beautiful dark green color with a golden spine.
“That is the story of Tholdir and his adventures in Adamas.” Naririrel said as Elyn took a quick skim through the book. It was written in runes, but she was able to translate a few letters.
“Tholdir, the God of souls.” Elyn said she was closing the book and putting it back on the shelf. The trio joined Coostaark by the couch, who is enjoying a cup of wine accompanied with a slice of bread with butter and cheese.
“This will be the best bread I’ve had in a while.” He said taking another bite. Elyn sits next to him, choosing an apple, bread, butter, and cup of wine. Taking a bite of the apple first, carefully spreading a thin layer of butter. The two flavors melted quite well. The subtle sweetness of the bread, the creaminess of the butter, and the tartness of the apple all paired wonderfully.
“We’ll rest up here before deciding on our next destination, although that is up to Elyn.” He said while the guardian nodded too, enriched with the food in front of her. After the disaster that happened in Mica, this small break was very much needed.
“The Adroks, maybe you could shed some light on them.” Coostaark said taking another sip.
Naririel nodded as he transported to the bookshelf to grab the same book Elyn picked out. Immediately he went back to the others.
Pouring a cup of wine and grabbing a couple cherries, he opens the book.
“Tholdir is the God of souls, which of course was already known information. Yet it has been a good few ten thousand years since his disappearance. The first mention of an Adrok was written in King Elzra’s journal around four thousand years.” Naaririel began.
“So the disappearance of Tholdir helped create the Adroks.” Elyn guessed.
“Do ya have any guesses wher he mit belad?” Coostaark asked.
Naaririel summons a map; there were all of Adamas on one side and Famuria on the other, and separating the two was a place called Azalhana.
“I believe that Tholdir is in Azalhana, or the lands between.” He said, pointing to the middle as the two guardians looked in slight confusion.
“Do you think Elias is there also?” Elyn asked. It would make perfect sense if he was.
Naririel nodded; he wasn’t too certain, just as he wasn’t one hundred percent sure if Tholdir was there as well. The tollkeeper hoped he was. Naririel missed God deeply.
“Tholdir is my best friend; I very much hope he and Elias are in Azalhana.” He answered.
The information of the lands between brought a slight surge of hope to Elyn. Maybe just maybe Elias wouldn’t turn into an Adrok. The bigger question was getting to the destination.
“The main issue is getting to Azalhana; after doing a couple of centuries worth of research, I’m not any close to discovering it’s location.” Naririel said.
The two nodded, taking in the information with relative silence. Elyn tilted her head, tapping the table with fingers while taking another sip of wine in the other.
“If I learned the rune system, maybe I can find some clue into finding Azalhana.” She pointed out.
"Hmm, yes, that could be a big help, as well as helping you discover your Elysium.” Naaririel said.
“Elysium?” Coostaark interrupted.
“A weapon connected to the guardian’s soul; it used to be common practice when Adroks were common.” If you want, I could teach you as well.” Naaririel offered.
Coostaark nodded in agreement. If the Adroks were returning, then he wanted to be prepared.
Getting up from her spot, Elyn walks towards the door.
“While we’re here, I want to figure out the rune system a bit more.” She said while leaving.
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep her company.” Lilian shouted happily.
