He greeted her with a gentle smile. “I hope I didn’t wake you up. Here, this is for you - a change of new clothes,” he said, handing the package to Yuu. It was a wooden box adorned with a silk ribbon on top.
“Good morning to you, too, Albert,” she replied with a grateful smile. Yuu took the package into her arms and thanked Albert for the clothes.
“Well, I will see you downstairs,” he said as he turned away and left.
Yuu, now holding the package in her hands, closed the door and placed it on the bed. Her delicate fingers brushed against the wooden rectangular box, which was covered in decorative paper. She gently undid the chestnut-brown satin ribbon and opened the box. On top, there were some supplies: a comb, hair ribbons, black leather shoes, and underlayers for a dress.
Beneath these items lay a dress, gracefully wrapped in satin fabric of the same blue hue as the box's ribbon. She gently lifted the dress and brushed her fingertips against it, marveling at its lightness. The dress was a vision of simple elegance, with black lace adorning the sleeves and hem. At the back, a large blue ribbon added a touch of refined charm.
She had worn dresses with corsets before, so the art of putting on the dress with all its layers wasn’t something she wasn’t accustomed to. However, the thought of wearing a dress after such a long time was a bit daunting, as she always preferred pants or leggings, which gave her the freedom to move. With dresses, she often felt confined.
Yuu gently picked up the dress from the box and held it against herself. Turning to the mirror, she said to herself, “I guess I really need to put on this dress.”
After gazing at the dress for a few moments, Yuu finally began to put it on. First, she changed into a chemise, then started layering the dress.
“Mm, it’s been a while since I wore a dress, so I guess this will take some time,” she said aloud, eyeing the layers she needed to put on.
She effortlessly slipped into the petticoat, which added volume to the dress. Next came the corset. Her delicate fingers skillfully tightened the corset, molding it to her slender figure. When she finally donned the dress, she gazed at her reflection in the mirror.
The blue fabric clung elegantly to her frame, with the black lace on the sleeves and hem adding a touch of sophistication. The large blue ribbon at the back completed the ensemble, enhancing her graceful silhouette.
The view of her figure in front of the mirror took her breath away. Though she wasn't particularly fond of dresses, she felt satisfied with her appearance, a wry smile appearing on her face as she continued to observe herself.
“I look like a different person, and it fits me perfectly!” she thought, her eyes wide with surprise. “Clothes indeed can change one's appearance. One would never expect me to be from another era in these clothes; it appears as if I truly belong to this time,” she pondered, chuckling at her own remarks.
She pulled on fresh, white stockings before slipping into her shoes. Then she brushed her blonde hair, leaving it loose, but adorned it with the blue silk ribbon at the back, which complemented the dress perfectly.
Yuu twirled around the room in the dress, the fabric rustling softly. The blue silk dress looked elegant yet simple, adorned with ribbons at the back. The colour of the dress complemented her deep blue eyes, enhancing Yuu's womanly silhouette and showcasing her feminine side.
She retrieved her makeup kit from her backpack. “A little makeup for the occasion won't harm anyone,” she said to herself, smiling. Applying pink lipstick and mascara, she enhanced her features, making her eyes pop. A soft touch of blush added a feminine glow. Finally, she was ready to leave her room.
She descended the stairs as a lady of the house, graceful, delicate, yet determined to face the challenges the day might bring. As she entered the drawing room, she was enveloped by its luxurious charm. The walls were adorned with elaborate floral-patterned wallpaper, harmoniously complemented by rich wooden panelling. Various artworks of oil paintings hung on the walls, enhancing the room's refined atmosphere.
In the center of the room stood a sophisticated carved wooden table, surrounded by a plush sofa and several armchairs, all covered in expensive velvety fabrics in deep hues. The polished wooden floor was partially covered by a plush Persian rug, adding warmth and elegance to the space.
Yuu was greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed Earl Grey tea. Her brother was already in the room with Louis, sipping tea and chatting on the sofa. Albert sat in an armchair, engrossed in a paper.
As Yuu entered the room, she greeted them with a soft smile, bowing slightly and saying politely, “Good morning, dear gentlemen.”
The room fell silent. They all stared at her, amazed by her transformation from a modern woman to an elegant Victorian lady.
“Yuu... you look stunning,” Albert said as he observed her appearance, a gentle smile gracing his face.
“Indeed, Yuu,” Louis stated, placing his cup of tea on the table, his voice filled with warmth.
She winked at them and said with playful banter and a chuckle, “Flattery will get you nowhere, my dear gentlemen.” Feeling confident and satisfied, she added, “But I must say... I rather like this new look of mine.”
Victor froze, staring at Yuu for a moment, taking in his sister's transformation. After collecting his thoughts, he finally cleared his throat and spoke aloud.
“Oh my, Yuu… I am at a loss for words. You look different!” He paused, never taking his eyes off Yuu. “You look like a real woman,” he added, his gaze gentle and sincere.
The room held its breath, and the Moriarty brothers chuckled at Victor's remark.
Yuu sat on the sofa next to her brother. “What do you mean I look like a woman? Don’t you see I am one?” she pouted, puffing out her cheeks, and playfully poked him.
“What a lively morning,” William said as he entered the room, smiling softly. He then shifted his gaze to Yuu. “I see the dress fits you well and... complements your blue eyes.”
Yuu stopped poking her brother and looked at William while shifting herself on the sofa. She slightly blushed and, after a short pause, said, “I see nothing goes unnoticed by you,” and smiled brightly.
Then she stood up and twirled around the room. “It does fit me perfectly! Thank you very much! And it is easy to move in, too!” She tried to jump up a few times to show how comfortable the dress was. Her eyes shone like little marbles; her happiness evident.
“Later, we will provide more clothes for the lady, and let's not forget you, Victor. You will receive new clothing as well,” Albert added, looking satisfied with Yuu`s playful antics.
Victor nodded appreciating the thoughtfulness of Moriarty brothers while shifting his eyes between the brothers, “thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a lot to us.”
The room fell silent for a moment, and everyone’s eyes once more turned to Yuu, who was still twirling around in her new dress. She felt the freedom of her movements despite being in a dress. Her face looked calm and satisfied.
“It was William who chose the color and picked the right size,” Louis pointed out, breaking the silence with a locked gaze on Yuu.
“You have good taste, William. I approve. Even though I usually don’t wear dresses as they hinder my movement, but in this dress, I can move freely. I appreciate your thoughtfulness,” Yuu chuckled, finally stopping her twirling.
“I remember the last time you wore a dress was when we attended the royal tea party. Do you remember, Yuu?” Victor asked his sister, who was now sitting comfortably on the sofa next to him.
“Oh yes, I remember. I wanted to go in pants to the tea party, but grandmother became furious and didn’t let me leave my room until I put on a dress,” Yuu giggled, recalling past events from their life together.
“You were always rebellious, Yuu,” he gently nudged her with a grin.
“Let's not say 'rebellious.' I prefer to have my own way of navigating through life, dear brother,” she winked at Victor.
The Moriarty brothers shared a smile at the lovely banter between the twins. William took his seat in an armchair and remarked, “You two seem close,” smiling warmly as he looked at them.
“Maybe we are not always together, but our bond is strong,” Yuu said with a genuine smile, nudging her brother's shoulder and giggled softly. Her laugh was like a melody, echoing through the room.
“Yes, indeed. I am happy to finally have you back by my side,” Victor said, gazing into her eyes with a genuine smile as he took her hand and squeezed it.
“I missed you, Victor. I know we already met a couple of days ago, but I feel now is a good chance to say these words out loud. I am very happy that we are united again,” she said warmly, smiling at her brother and meeting his gaze.
“Have you two been separated?” Albert asked, listening intently to their conversation.
“Well, I was always wandering around the world. First with father,” she paused for a moment and continued, “And then alone, always moving from one place to another, while Victor remained with mother in London.” Yuu looked at one spot as she spoke, and pain crossed her face.
Albert, sensing that he had touched on painful memories, concluded his questioning by saying, “Well, at least now you are together,” and smiled understandingly at the twins.
Louis added, “Family bonds are important. It's good that you stand united despite the passage of time.”
“I agree. No matter how far or how long we're apart, we always think of one another,” Victor added to the conversation.
After their conversation, they proceeded to the dining hall where they enjoyed an English breakfast. Once they finished eating, they began discussing the matters at hand.
“You probably have a plan already mapped out in your head, William,” Albert said, looking at his brother with a knowing glance.
“Indeed, Albert,” William replied briefly.
