Milo found it easy to stay productive during Coryms’ exam period. He had no shortage of work to do for his project. He couldn’t wait to get it done - the moment it was finished, he could begin his training to become a physics professor at the university. Corym barging into his life had been more than a little distracting, albeit in a way he wouldn’t exchange for the world.
He was deep into the derivation of an equation, when his door clicked open. Corym looked tired, but still, he smiled. As he often did, he was wearing Milo’s blue sweater, hands stuffed in the front pocket and shoulders slightly lifted, as if it was just a little too cold.
“Hey… are you alright?”
“Hmm? Yeah, I just have a minute and wanted to say hi.”
Milo stood from his desk. “You’ve been staying here every night, you could have just waited a few more hours.”
“Nah, I didn’t want to wait, I want a hug. Or, well, some other kind of attention, I'm not picky.”
A voice from the hallway called the half-drow’s name. “The exam is in three minutes, hurry up!”
“Just go, I’ll follow!” he called back, before glancing up at Milo. He let a grin slip before stepping to his boyfriend and wrapping his arms around his middle, squeezing him tightly. “Hug me back, I’ve only got a few seconds.”
Milo chuckled and wrapped his arms around him, holding him as tightly as he could, swinging him playfully side to side a little. “Good luck,” he whispered, pressing a short kiss to the top of his head, just before Corym pulled away, sauntering backwards towards the door with a cheeky grin.
“You too, cutie, you go... find the numbers, or something!”
Milo rolled his eyes with a quiet laugh, before going back to his table to work, swiftly picking up where he had left off, as if re-focused.
