"Tomorrow is our auction day, I need you boys to behave properly until it ends," Myiesha added. "Am I clear?"
The room remained quiet, the weight of her words hanging heavily in the air. "Am I clear?" Myiesha's tone was unyielding, her gaze sweeping over the group with a steely resolve.
"Yes, ma'am," came the collective murmur from the employees, their voices tinged with a mix of apprehension and compliance.
With that, Callistus and the troublemakers were dismissed. As Callistus walked out, he couldn't help but glance back. Mia was still standing by leaning in one of the corner's of the office, her gaze fixed and unchanging since the commotion. Her eyes seemed to follow them as they left the COO's office, her expression an unreadable mask.
The hallway felt long and echoing as Callistus made his way out. He couldn't shake the feeling of Mia's unwavering gaze on his back, and the uneasy knot in his stomach grew tighter with every step he took.

"Mia," Callistus called out when he saw her walking alone outside.
"You're not staying back?" she asked.
Callistus gave her a confused look, wondering why he should stay back later.
"They just opened the avenue for the cleaners to clean up," she said. "You wanna go check it out?"
Before he could answer, Mia had already started walking away. The company building was huge and filled with modern architecture. Although Callistus had been working there for a few days, he only knew the way to his desk. Mia, on the other hand, knew the place like the back of her hand, effortlessly navigating through various hallways and staircases.
As they walked, Callistus began to notice the architecture had a hint of palace vibes, like the candle chandeliers and the intricate designs on the walls filled with paintings and golden patterns. He was mesmerised by the elegance of the halls, unsure if he was in a company building or somewhere else entirely.
"Have they opened the door?" Mia asked when she saw Pavanya standing in front of a massive three-metre wooden door.
"No, we're waiting for the others to arrive," Pavanya replied. "The cleaners and workers have already set up everything. We're just excited to see this."
Mia turned to find Callistus still gazing around, awestruck. Myiesha pointed to a side where Star and the others had arrived, though Ivan was notably absent. Star had the key to open the door. She walked towards it, the key turning in the lock as Danish and Mia pushed the door open.
The lights turned on one by one, revealing the breathtaking venue. The interior was a stunning blend of royal palace architecture and modern design. The walls were adorned with intricate golden patterns and paintings, while elegant candle chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, casting a warm, inviting glow.
In the centre of the room, an exquisite chandelier shaped like flying birds cascaded down in two spirals. The LED white lights illuminated the space perfectly, highlighting the luxurious decor. The floors were made of polished marble, and the furniture was a harmonious mix of antique and contemporary styles.
As they walked further into the hall, the grandeur of the place became even more apparent. The ornate mouldings and plush seating areas were meticulously crafted, exuding both opulence and sophistication. It felt like stepping into a modern-day royal palace. The space seamlessly blended traditional elegance with modern innovation, creating an atmosphere that was both majestic and contemporary. Each detail, from the intricate designs on the walls to the luxurious furniture, was thoughtfully designed to impress and awe visitors.
Danish couldn't help but marvel at the sight. "This place is incredible," he said.
Pavanya smiled, sharing his admiration. "It's as big as a royal ballroom."
"Mia, your design is amazing!" Myiesha said to her. Mia replied with a smile, pleased with the venue.

Callistus had completely forgotten about the venue, his focus now drawn to the designs of the company's hall. As the evening turned to night, the huge windows revealed the city lights. He wandered around, his eyes darting to every corner, mesmerised by the details. His gaze roamed everywhere except straight ahead.
He took a step backward, confident that nothing would happen.
Suddenly, he bumped into something and lost his balance. He shut his eyes, bracing for the fall.
But he didn't hit the ground. Something held him. He peeked, expecting a random passerby.
"Ivan?" Callistus said as he was pulled up by him.
"You really like falling for me," Ivan said with a smirk while crossing his arms.
"Excuse me?" Callistus replied, dusting off his pants.
"Are you heading to the venue?" Ivan asked.
"Oh, shit!" Callistus scratched his head. "I completely forgot about it and the others."
"Have you checked it out yet?"
Callistus shook his head. "Can I walk with you?"
Ivan's serious expression softened into a smile. "Of course."
As they walked together, Callistus felt a surprising sense of familiarity with Ivan. Even though Ivan was usually quiet and reserved, there was something comforting about his presence. It made Callistus feel as if they had been friends for a long time.
Ivan's calm and confident demeanour put Callistus at ease. He felt safe, which was a new feeling for him around someone he barely knew. The way Ivan smiled and the warmth in his eyes made Callistus feel a connection that he couldn't quite explain.
Callistus thought his life was over when a terrible accident erased half his memories, leaving him to rebuild a future from fragments of the past. Desperate for stability, he takes a job at a renowned auction company, only to find his new boss is Ivan Chase-a man who feels strangely familiar.
Ivan, now a powerful CEO, is distant but somehow connected to the life Callistus can't remember. As Callistus adjusts to his new role, he finds himself falling for Ivan, drawn to him by something deep and unspoken. Just as their bond begins to grow, an old friend of Ivan's plans a merger between their companies, arranging a business marriage to secure the deal.
But the friend has hired Callistus to assassinate Ivan after the wedding, aiming to seize control of the Chase empire. Now, Callistus faced a choice: put his feelings aside and carry out the job, or risk everything for a chance at love. Will he follow through with the plan, or will love lead him to a different fate?
