Chapter 14.
Real.
Kate had woken up all night, dark thoughts about her mother did not let her mind rest peacefully,,, ¿why had she gotten involved with Leo?, ¿why did he have to manipulate her through her to get what he wanted?
Maybe Harrison was not such a bad man, but his hazel eyes seemed to read her thoughts through her green eyes… the burn on her chin, ¿how had it gotten there?.
Surely it would have hurt him, he was completely in agreement with this Union, or he simply accepted it because he had no other choice, but ¿why was it so necessary to unite forces between both families? ¿Could the mafias of other countries and criminal organizations subdue them and destroy them from within?
Being so, it does not mean that she will always be at risk in that place and if by chance the man ends up being a cruel psychopath who boasts of the pain he can cause her, the thought alone left her worried…
¿How will she survive?, She only wants to return home to her mother in one piece, reopen the cookie shop and pretend that this was nothing more than a painful nightmare that she will never talk about again…
Maybe it is because she doesn't feel like having that kind of conversation, when the door knocks, panic floods her, but she goes over and turns the knob, letting out a breath to look at a guard, who with an expressionless tone simply said to her: Mr. Harrison is waiting for you for breakfast, get ready quickly because he will arrive in 15 minutes.
After that announcement the guard turned around and left, but what kind of things does she have to do or talk about at a breakfast with that kind of people who already understand that having kissed him the night before was completely daring on her part, but he could be more daring by coming the next morning with the excuse of having breakfast…
¿What the hell does she plan to do? It is not enough for her to know that she will get married, but that their lives should not be completely united… that is what she intends to propose to him, a marriage of pure politics in which he does not have to get involved in her things nor will she ask about his crimes…
It would be better that way and only then, maybe the perspective will stop being dark, and it will begin to be seen through rose-colored glasses that brighten the lives of those who prefer to evade any kind of responsibility.
Yet there she was changing into something completely relaxed and closed off enough so that he doesn’t think she’s somehow provoking him, which will never happen, she wasn’t raised to be a prickly bitch looking for a man in life, but on the contrary, she was born to be a dancer, a lady in society, a star who can offer through her actions an escape from reality to her viewers.
But as she looked in the mirror putting the finishing touches on her makeup, she knew that dream was already dead, she couldn’t realize it while she was a married woman and much less the wife of a dangerous man whose limits she doesn’t know and if he’s capable of respecting his decisions; she only knows his name Harrison Bayle and that he’s a reckless looking man…
