Orions POV:
”Can’t wait to go in.” I opened the door for the girls as we walked in I felt the warmth of happiness.
“Welcome!” One of the waitresses welcomed us in.
She had short auburn brown hair that went just to her shoulders with emerald green eyes that were filled with happiness. She ran around with plates of food and drinks, in a what looked like a maid costume but instead of black it was a light orange that matched her hair.
”The only free spot is at the bar” she gestured towards the bar with a couple of seats open.
“Oh thank you Maple.” Evelynn smiled at Maple.
Maple smiled back and turned to go give people their orders as she was walking away, something caught my eye. I looked at Maple and she had a cat tail, I looked at her head and she had the ears of a cat on her head.
Evelynn lead us to the bar as I got a better look around the tavern everything was so lively and just like the outside the inside had plants everywhere but it fit in perfectly. As we got to the bar there was a bartender, he wore a dark green vest over a tan dress shirt he had bright ginger hair while bright emerald green eyes.
“Welcome in, what can I get started for you three?” He asked
“I’ll take a medium rare steak with a side of fries.” Evelynn ordered. “And a cup of tea.”
“Iced?” He asked writing down her order.
“You know I hate cold drinks Kaza.” She replied.
”Sorry it’s a habit.” He laughed it off. “And for you two?” He looked at us
i thought for a moment. “Do you guys have a menu?” I asked.
“No, if you want it we can make it, if the cook knows how to make it anyways.” He answered.
“Well in that case spicy boneless wings.” I answered. “Ooh and hot chocolate.”
I looked at Shiro and motioned for her to order. “Umm can I just have a cheese burger and a glass of water.” She ordered.
Kaza smiled and turned around and put the ticket into the back. “Ivan, new order.” He yelled to the back before going to make our drinks. “So who are your new friends?” He asked Evelynn.
“Oh this is Orion, and his sister Shiro.” She replied gesturing to us.
“Nice to meet you, we are new to town and we were wondering if we could stay for a while in the tavern.” I asked.
“That’s what we are here for.” He said. “And it’s a pleasure meeting you two, and I’m the owner of The Orical, Kaza.”
So he owned the tavern. “So how much would 2 rooms be for maybe a month?” I asked hoping it wouldn’t be too much.
”Well it’s a fifty copper a night.” He scratched his chin. “So fifteen silver if i did my math right.”
I looked into my backpack and grabbed the pouch of gold that I got from the town hall there was maybe thirty or so gold coins. “I only have gold coins, can you break for change?” I asked handing him a gold coin.
“Yeah, it will be eighty four silver and 50 copper for your change, including the cost for your food.” He turned around handing me the change and the keys to the rooms.
He also gave us our drinks. “It will be around thirty minutes for your food to be done.” He turned to tend to other guests.
“So where are you guys coming from?” Evelynn asked before taking a drink of her tea.
“About thirtyish miles west of here there was a small village.” I answered.
“Oh so you guys are from the countryside?” She asked.
“Yeah, I guess you can say that.” I responded.
”That’s cool, I’ve always wanted to go to the countryside, just haven’t found a need to yet.” She took another drink from her tea.
It was at this point things got a little awkward, not knowing what to say I just stayed quiet. I took a drink of my cocoa. “Hey cutie.” A drunkard came up and put his arm around Evelynn.
Before I was able to say anything the man slammed into the ground by what seemed like nothing. I sensed a bit of mana coming from Evelynn. The man tried to get up couldn’t. It was some sort of gravity field.
A young man maybe in his mid twenties came up he wore a forest green dress shirt with light tan pants, he was pretty built and tall maybe half a foot taller than I am. He had bright green eyes with short platinum blonde hair.
“Everything alright Eve?” The man asked.
“Yeah, he caught me off guard is all.” She responded releasing the gravity on him.
She then looked at me “Well welcome to town.”
At this point Kaza came out and gave us our food. “Ivan, take him out, how ever you please.” Kaza spoke to the large man.
Aiden nodded and he slung the dude over his shoulder, and walked out of the tavern. Aiden came back after a few minutes and the drunkard was nowhere to be seen. “Well that happened.” I sighed looking at the food that was in front of me. ”Looks good.”
I took a bite of the chicken and it was the perfect amount of spice not to much but just enough to get you sweating. “Mmm this is really good.” I took another bite.
“I know right.” Evelynn took a bite of her steak and smiled.
I looked over at Shiro and she was devouring her burger. I couldn’t help but smile. After I finished my meal I waited for Shiro to finish before heading to the room. “Where are the rooms?” I asked getting up.
“Just head up the stairs.” Evelynn answered getting up as well.
“Oh alright.” I walked over to the stairs that were in the corner of the room and looked towards the top.
There was nothing but a ceiling at the top. “Uh, are you sure?” I asked.
Evelynn nodded and I hesitantly went up the stairs. I was about half way up the stairs before everything lurched forward and I was suddenly in a different place. Looking around confused.
It looked like a normal hallway, potted plants lined the hallways walls next to the pillars, lanterns lighting it up, and just like “downstairs” vines were hanging from the ceiling warping around the support beams and the pillars on the wall.
Evelynn and Shiro appeared next to me. “Cool right?” Evelynn asked in a somewhat excited tone.
“Yeah.” I struggled to find the right words. “How does it work?” I asked.
”Kaza won't tell us.” She answered.
I looked at Shiro who was in awe she looked around before looking back at the “stairs”. “So where are we exactly?” She asked.
“It’s like a dimension pocket.” She explained. “That’s what it seems like anyways.”
I scratched my chin wondering how it all worked. “And how many ‘keys’ are there?” I asked.
She thought to herself for a moment. “There’s about five rooms in each hallway and about ten floors slash dimension pockets so about fifty keys.” she answered.
“Damn, that’s a lot of keys.” I said
Walking into my room, it was a large bedroom with a desk and chair in the corner, a large bed a few chairs, with a door in the corner of the room. There was a wardrobe with new clothes for both male and female. Looking into it I grabbed a plain beige shirt that had a hood with short sleeves, and some plain black pants.
I’d open the door in the corner to reveal a bathroom. “I’m going to change in here.” I said to Shiro as I walked in.
Getting dressed I looked into the mirror and I was covered in dried mud, blood and dirt. I sighed taking my clothes back off and getting into the shower. The water was warm to the touch as I cleaned my self.
“Gods that felt nice.” I got out of the shower and dried myself off before getting dressed again.
Walking out of the bathroom Shiro was on the bed talking with Evelynn. Shiro also changed while I was showering. She had a pretty much the same outfit as me but her shirt was white instead of beige.
“So what now?” I asked, looking at them but mainly Shiro.
“Oh, you can join the guild here, if you’d like anyways.” Evelynn answered.
“The what?” I asked sitting down drying my hair off with a towel.
”The guild, it’s just a group of hunters that go on quests together or solo.” She answered my question. “Our guild is top ten in the continent.
“Interesting.” I said scratching my chin. “And what guild is this?”
She lifted her shirt a bit revealing a dark red symbol on her hip. The symbol was a raven spreading its wings, with what looks like the Norse realms compass in the background. “Nevermore.” She said with a smile.
