“Gantz.” A slightly loud and deep voice shook him from his stupor. That also made him flinch in surprise.
Gantz lifted his gaze towards Bear. Bear was looking at him as he pointed towards some fishes that was placed over a huge leaf, presumably had been cooked.
Gantz unconsciously let out a snicker, as if something has been lifted off his chest. He then sauntered closer to Bear, while slipping the communication ball—the size of a huge marble—into the pocked of his pants.
“Eat.” Bear told Gantz after he was close enough. Gantz nodded and took a seat on one of the huge logs, which was placed around the campfire.
Bear handed Gantz a huge fish, cooked to perfection and was fragrant enough, to cause him to drool. Gantz immediately chowed down on the fish.
Seeing as Gantz have no problem of eating the fish, Bear cracked a subtle smile, before taking a fish and also eating it. The two of them enjoyed a moment of silence as they filled their bellies.
After eating, and cleaning the campfire area. Gantz was lifting up his bag, which was placed somewhere close to the campfire area.
“Can I put my bag here?” Gantz pointed as the outside walls of Bear’s house. Was it correct to call it a ‘house’, though? That was what incurred in Gantz’s mind as he gazed at the hollowing, which was made almost artificially on the foot of a cliff. The cave is strategically located close to the waterfall for food source, and given the perilous path to get to the cave, safety is compromised.
Bear flicked his right ears and glanced at Gantz’s bag. He then sauntered towards the cave, and peeked inside.
“Put it inside. Outside is not safe.” Bear informed. He then motioned Gantz to follow him inside the cave.
“…Whoa.” Gantz gaped his mouth in awe a few moments after he stepped inside with Bear and Bear lit up the room.
The insides of the cave were much better than Gantz expected. Unlike the entrance size that could barely bit Bear and his gigantic proportions, the inside is bigger in terms of height and width. At one corner, there was a huge bedding made by dried grass, and layered with a broad brown sheet. While at the other corner, was a hanging rack made by assembling a handful of thick and straight branch together.
To Gantz’s surprise, there was a waist length closet right next to the entrance. There were some tools laid out on top of it, along with some items that looked like wax.
“Your cave is… quite nice.” Gantz blurted out. He then unconsciously wandered around to cave, peeking at everything he could find. Several minutes passed, Gantz snapped out from his awestruck, and returned his gaze to Bear, who was still standing at the entrance, and was tailing Gantz’s movement since the moment he began to move about.
“…Sorry.” Gantz muttered; flustered.
Bear shook his head a no, and placed Gantz’s bag on the other side of the entrance.
“This is mother and father house. Bear lives here after they returned to the stars.” Bear then looked around. “Some things here are what my father and mother did. Like the bedding, my mother like it when it is layered with a clean fabric. This hanging rack is my father’s genius idea.”
“I see.” Gantz replied. Bear is a quiet being, but Gantz noticed that he is able to talk lengthy words if he wants, and he would do so especially when it’s about his parents. “Your parents are great people, aren’t they?”
Bear nodded. He then silently pondered.
“Come.” Bear suddenly said to Gantz, as he beckoned Gantz to come with him. “Bear wants to show Gantz something.”
