Chapter 17.

Awakening.

Early in the morning, when Henry abruptly opened the door to the room, staggering from how drunk he was, Thais opened her eyes and asked him how the night had been, so listening to his friend running to the bathroom to vomit, she could interpret that it had been total madness, however, she felt an itch on his ribs…

And the moment he went to scratch himself she could notice that there was dried blood on his clothes… it was then that she realized that she had not lain down in bed because she had stayed hidden between the bed and the suitcase…

¿What the hell had happened?, So, while Henry came out after having washed his face and brushed his hair, she asked him, ¿did you come back last night and put me to bed?, To which he said: oh girl, please, why would I come back when I was the life of the party.

I haven't entered this room, I've just come in, so get out of bed because I'm sleepy... to which she said: I'm serious Henry, tell me you're not joking this time, this is very serious; and he told her: it's as serious as the headache I have, so she ran to the bathroom and lifting up her shirt she saw that on her ribs there were the shape of numbers on both sides and then feeling paranoid she went back to the bed and pulling Henry, she made him open his eyes again and he simply yelled at her:

¿WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW WOMAN?, DON'T BE ANNOYING AND LET ME SLEEP A BIT BECAUSE I WANT TO DREAM ABOUT SAMANTHA…

She simply lifted up her shirt and told him: I don't want to see you naked, don't be disgusting, but she answered him: I'm not showing you my nakedness, I'm showing you these things that came out of me, and he, looking more closely said to her:  ¿has anyone come to see you last night or why the hell are the numbers one to four on your ribs?, ¿ What the hell did you do?, ¿Some satanic pact last night while I was gone?, If that's the case, you better tell the devil that I want half of the money he's going to give you...

And she mockingly said to him: above all, I made a pact... Don't be stupid, someone came into the room while I was asleep, laid me down on the bed and made these marks on me, to which Henry said: there's only one person we can be sure has done something like that and that's Cora Park, but as far as I know you haven't left the room, she has no way of knowing that you're here; maybe you did it while you were asleep, maybe you're a sleepwalker... and if that were the case you have to be careful that you don't go out that door while you're asleep or jump out the window, because it would be very sad if you became a shark's meal or a Triton's partner or it would be much more stormy if you fell straight into the cruise ship's anchor and you'd be stuck right in the middle; I can't imagine what kind of marine predators an anchor with a dead body stuck in it would attract. ¿Can you imagine Thais?
