My eyelids are heavy, and my head, even more. Around me, I can see spots of colour. Beige. Brown. Green. Confused, I rub my eyes, trying to see better. At the same time, I can hear Lana scream in pain.
- Ouch, my elbows! Aaah, where the f*** are we?
She furrows her brows while looking at me, then our visions become clearer. I can distinguish a man, dressed in a coarse manner with a leaf dress, his hair in a mess. He looks really dirty; as if he was a caveman. Slowly, everyone begins waking up. We observe around us cautiously.
We are in a wooden cabin in the trees, the whole Owl group. Without Eva. Nobody to save us. The man stares at us with a look a mistrust.
- Hey, the caveman! I give you a blueberry and you let us go! Do we have a deal? Blueberry equals us, we go! Signs Sebastian impatiently.
The man laughs loudly and higher, which gives him a haughty look.
- There's a challenge, kids. If you guess my secret, I'll let you go. (He shrug his shoulders.) As simple as that.
Audrey raises her eyes as they squint with annoyance, trying to figure out what it could be.
- What? You're gay?
The caveman snorts and covers his mouth with his hand, amused. He shakes his head and smirks slightly.
- Nope. Two chances left, think smart.
Mary-Phoebe, her, thinks for a moment, before shifting to the man.
- Let me guess...You're actually vegeterian and you're trying to scare us?
Surprised, he shakes his head. Still not. With the feeling that I must save everything, I start thinking as well. Why is he here? Does he live here? What did he do to Eva? Suddenly, the answer seems evident, and a lot easier.
- Okay... I guess that aren't in the real caveman style, and that you're part of our instructors? That those passion fruits were the ones who made us sleep, that all of this was a challenge?
The man smiles and nods vigorously his head, glad.
- Great job. You must be Cassandra. I've heard about you. You know what? You're chosen for the committee.
Puzzled, I watch my cave comrades, who seem to figure all of this out. I shift my gaze to the man, inquiring explanations.
- Oh, but for the camp, my dear.
