Her eyes were searching for a seat, and as we stood up, they settled directly on me and my widened stance. I took a step back.
"Bhoomi, could you ask for it?"
"Sorry, I thought you wanted it," Bhoomi replied.
"It's okay. We're in public, so it's awkward for me. Um, hmm... actually, I need to go to the washroom. Why don't you wait outside?"
"Why outside? I'll wait here."
Feeling stressed, I didn't know where Aadhira had disappeared to. The girl was coming towards us. "Are you leaving? Can I take this seat?"
Bhoomi replied, "Yes, you can. Actually, I'll wait."
They both sat together, and I searched for Aadhira, unsure of what had happened to her. She looked angry enough to kill me. I felt like I was betraying her. I tried calling her, but she didn't pick up. As I was in the washroom, someone flushed – Aadhira! What was I going to say?
"Aadhira."
"Hmm," she said, washing her hands.
"Um... I'm sorry."
"For what?" She looked at me, seeming devilish.
"Actually, she kissed me."
"You think I care about that? Who are we to each other? Friends? I don't have a problem."
"No, I'll tell her we're dating."
"Are we?" She was so angry, looking like the Grim Reaper.
I held her hand and said, "Yes, I'm sorry."
She didn't show anger; her face was furious. "No, move your hand." I tried to hold her tighter.
"Aadhira! Um, actually..."
"Kiara, my client is waiting. I need to have a meeting; I don't have all day."
I let go of her hand. Her voice was sweet. She wasn't ready to listen to me. What could stop her? I didn't know. I came out of the washroom, and Bhoomi saw us coming together. She seemed angry and asked, "What a surprise! Kiara, did you know Aadhira is here? She's chasing you like some obsessive friend."
Aadhira replied, "Oh, you think we're friends? Why don't you ask your Kiara?"
Bhoomi replied, "I don't need to. I trust Kiara. You seem jealous."
Aadhira's client asked, "Aadhira, is that Kiara?"
Aadhira replied in a frustrated tone, "Yeah."
The client said, "Hey, I'm Nisha, her client. We met today; she told me about you. Actually, she said you're her motivation for working here. Her PowerPoint presentation was great. We came here for lunch; why don't you join us?"
Bhoomi replied, "Listen, I have a meeting."
Nisha said, "Then go, you don't have to join us."
Bhoomi replied, "Yes, I'm her manager. She has a lot of work too."
Nisha said, "Okay, bye bye Kiara! We'll miss you."
I finally replied to Nisha, "Take care, bye Nisha."
Nisha is the sweetest person I've ever met. I don't know what will happen if she gets angry, especially with clients; I hope she handles her anger well.
Bhoomi and I didn't go to the office. we went to a club and drank a lot. After many drinks, my head was spinning; maybe the club was spinning too. She held my hand and kissed me on the hand; then her kisses moved to my neck. Someone's hand was on my neck. Bhoomi missed the kiss. She was angry and exclaimed, "Who the fuck did this?"
Maybe I couldn't see the person's face. I was drunk and couldn't hear what they were saying. That girl put me in a car, and after a while, she held my hand and took me to a room. She removes my clothes, but I don't remember who else was there.
