"Mortimer, I think we should hide and observe the creature from a safe distance," Alex suggested, his instincts kicking in. The last thing he wanted was to end up as an appetizer for a hungry Tunnel Wrecker. 

"Good idea! Let's find a spot where we can keep an eye on it without being seen," Mortimer agreed, glancing around the cavern like a nervous squirrel. 

He maneuvered the vehicle to a shadowy corner, tucking it behind a cluster of radiant crystals that reflected the light in mesmerizing patterns. "Perfect! This should give us a good view without turning us into a recipe in some monster's cookbook.," Mortimer said, trying to lighten the mood. 

"Yeah, because becoming a worm sushi roll is totally off my bucket list," Alex thought dryly, feeling a mix of anticipation and dread as they settled in to watch. 

As they settled into their hiding spot, Alex felt a mix of anxiety and curiosity. He peered out from behind the crystals, watching as the Tunnel Wrecker lumbered into the cavern, its massive body casting a long shadow. The creature sniffed the air, its snout twitching as it searched for the source of the disturbance.
