“Absolutely,” Morgie tells him, and I make a stupid, split-second decision.
“Don’t do it.” The words fall from my tongue before my brain can catch up. “Your knife is worth a lot more than one pair of fabric shoes.”
Two pairs of eyes jump to me, one confused, the other agitated. I turn to look at Green Eyes and find that his eyes are too much for me to keep looking at. I look at his nose instead.
“Really?” Green Eyes asks and I nod as he turns to look over the other wares available. I glance from his nose to his lips, which are pinched into a confused frown. I don’t dare look at Morgie. “What are you planning on getting?”
“Me?” I ask him, now it’s my turn to be confused.
“Gotta make this trade fair somehow.”
