Third Person POV
It was an hour before classes were set to start, and the number of students entering the school was steadily increasing. Thankfully, the high-rise building scattered the students to their designated floors, making it easier to avoid people and attention. Liev and Blonde were on the sixth floor, where the laboratories were located, an area usually unoccupied unless there were scheduled classes. But how was he going to get to the clinic? This was a new school, and he didn't know where it was.
Liev had lost control of himself, relying on instincts alone. Waiting at the elevator would take too long, and the risk of everyone noticing their scents or the situation was too high. It would be disastrous if it alarmed everyone, not just causing a disturbance but also sparking rumors.
Desperation filled Liev as he looked left and right, trying to decide what to do. Should he check all the floors or find a staff member to ask for directions? But where would they be? The ground floor? The eighth floor?
*Ring ring*
The silence was broken by the vibration of his phone in his pocket, halting all his thoughts. He leaned against the wall for support, sitting down while still holding Blonde in his arms. With his free hand, he fumbled for his phone. He knew he had to answer; only one person would call him frequently like this.
'Redd Sinclair is calling...' The phone displayed.
As he brought the phone to his ear, he tried to steady his breathing, aware that he needed to regain control of himself to speak clearly.
"Liev! I thought you were already in the room—where are—" Redd's voice came through the phone, filled with concern and confusion.
"Clinic," Liev managed to utter, his voice strained with the effort of keeping himself composed.
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, followed by Redd's incredulous response, misunderstanding the situation due to Liev's brief response. "You what?! What happened—"
"Floor. What... floor...?" Before Redd could finish his sentence, Liev interjected, his tone urgent.
"Huh? ...Are you o—"
Liev shut his eyes tightly, silently beseeching Redd to understand the gravity of their situation. He couldn't afford to explain further; every second counted.
After what seemed like an eternity, Redd's voice came through the phone, slightly more composed this time, "Ninth. The clinic's on the ninth floor near the emergency exit."
With that crucial piece of information in hand, Liev felt a surge of relief wash over him. Redd had understood. Now, all he had to do was get Blonde to the clinic safely.
That's right, the stairs would be safer for them since few people used them, especially with classes starting. Everyone would be heading up, and rarely would anyone take the stairs when the elevator was available.
Liev didn't waste any more time. He stood up, saw the egress door with the exit sign, and immediately headed for it. The wall posted the big number 6, reminding him of the floor they were on. He hurriedly ran up the stairs, ignoring his labored breathing and the burning in his arms and legs. His focus was solely on controlling himself and reaching the clinic.
A student was walking up the stairs and was startled by the agitated Liev. She might not detect the pheromones, but she knew something was up, blushing hard for reasons she couldn't understand, except perhaps excitement at seeing a guy princess-carrying someone wrapped in a brown cardigan.
Finally, they reached the ninth floor. Liev pushed the egress door open and immediately saw the clinic signboard. Rushing towards it, he almost stumbled, knocking frantically before slamming the door open.
The doctor present stood up, shocked at the sight of the two of them. Liev was panting and disheveled. He stood, an imposing figure of raw strength and ferocity of his being. Sweat glistened on his chiseled body, making each muscle and vein clearly stand out, his skin shimmering as if it were molten bronze. His eyes were glazed and wild and seemed to look through the world around him, barely present yet intensely focused. Veins pulsed at his forehead, temples, and neck, a testament to his struggle for control. Every cell in his body was burning hot.
Each breath he took was ragged and heavy, his chest rising and falling with an intensity that spoke of the inner battle raging within him. His teeth were clenched tightly, jaw muscles twitching, with fangs bared in a primal display of dominance. His usual appearance, which never stood out, was suddenly noticeable with his dark hair tousled and sticking to his damp skin, making him look both dangerously wild and ruggedly.
Blonde is cradled in his arms like it was his precious treasure. The delicate figure was wrapped in Levion's cardigan, which offered both protection and the intoxicating scent mixed with the fragrance of jasmine tea. The omega's presence seemed to be the only thing anchoring Levion to reality, a fragile thread stopping his instincts from taking over.
The doctor's presence immediately set Liev on edge. Lowering his head slightly and narrowing his eyes into slits, a low, guttural growl emanated from deep within his chest. It was a clear warning.
The doctor, an alpha himself, quickly assessed the situation. He knew he had to assure him that he was not going to steal his omega. He approached Liev cautiously, aware of the tension in the room. Despite being an alpha, Liev was overwhelming him, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere that was affecting Blonde as well.
"Calm down. I already have a mate, my wife," the doctor said, raising his hand to show his wedding ring. To further ease the tension, he took out a handkerchief emitting a distinct scent, one that belonged to his mated omega. The scent wasn't alluring to others, but it was enough to make Liev lower his guard slightly, relieved that the alpha would no longer pose a threat since he was already bonded to another omega. This allowed the doctor to approach him.
"Have you calmed down?" the doctor asked.
Liev couldn't respond verbally, but the growling ceased, replaced by a look of worry for the omega in his arms.
The doctor took this as a sign to proceed. He quickly administered a sedative shot to Liev, causing him to collapse, almost losing consciousness. The sedative was intended to help Liev relax and calm himself. Though it could have knocked him out completely, Liev's will to protect the omega kept him partially awake.
The doctor caught Blonde before Liev completely lost his strength. Gently, he placed Blonde on the clinic bed and started his work. Liev, leaning against the wall where he had collapsed, could still see Blonde but had no energy to do anything more.
The doctor worked swiftly, administering a very strong suppressant to Blonde to help manage his heat. Blonde's trembling began to subside as the medication took effect, his breathing gradually evening out. The doctor checked his vitals, ensuring everything was stabilizing.
"He's going to be okay," the doctor said, glancing at Liev. "You've done well bringing him here."
Liev, though groggy, managed a slight nod. His heart was still racing, but the sedative was doing its job, and he felt the tension in his body slowly melting away. The doctor continued to monitor Blonde, who was now resting more peacefully.
As Liev's mind drifted in and out of consciousness, he couldn't help but reflect on the strange series of events that had led to this moment. He'd encountered omegas in heat two days in a row, and now he was sitting in a clinic, exhausted but relieved that Blonde was receiving the care he needed. The chaos of the morning had been overwhelming, but now, in the stillness of the clinic, there was a sense of calm.
For now, that was enough.

Liev's POV
My eyes fluttered open to an unfamiliar ceiling, and confusion flooded my mind. Why was I lying down instead of being in class? Then, in a rush, the events of the morning came back to me, and my thoughts immediately turned to Blonde.
"Blonde!" I exclaimed, my voice tinged with worry.
"He's alright," came the reassuring response from a man.
Turning my gaze towards him, seems like a doctor since he's wearing a lab coat. He's seated at a nearby desk, jotting down notes on a piece of paper. My eyes then drifted towards the curtain beside me, partially drawn to reveal Blonde lying in the adjacent bed, sleeping peacefully. Seeing him in such a calm state brought a sense of relief over me.
The doctor glanced up from his work, and his words caught me off guard. "I've heard of fated pairs, but I never thought their heats and ruts would actually be such a hassle to deal with."
Furrowing my brow, I couldn't help but wonder why he was suddenly talking about fated pairs.
Is he talking to someone else? I looked around and it seemed like we were the only ones in the room.
"Is that so...?" That's all I could say, my confusion evident.
"Why haven't you marked your omega yet? You're both just making your lives difficult," the doctor remarked, his tone carrying a hint of admonishment.
His assumption took me by surprise. Blonde and I weren't even friends, let alone marking him. It seemed the doctor had completely misunderstood our situation.
"He's—" I began to protest, but the doctor waved off my words.
"It's alright, you don't have to explain," he said, his expression softening. "But marking would make things easier for your omega. Instead of relying on suppressants and suffering from their side effects."
With that, the doctor finished his notes and handed a piece of paper to me.
Am I still supposed to clear the misunderstanding? I'm pretty sure he'll ask me what happened then. It's troublesome to explain everything that happened.
"What's this?" I asked, eyeing the paper warily.
"It's an excuse letter for Mr. Milner," the doctor explained. "He's excused from classes for the rest of the day. Take this to the office so he can be allowed to go home."
I nodded, still trying to process everything. Standing up, I straightened the bed before approaching the doctor to inspect the paper he had given me.
"As for you," the doctor continued, "I think you're well enough to attend your classes. But if you start feeling unwell, don't hesitate to come back here." He looked at me with his eyebrows raised, a slight smirk on his face.
"Unless..." His tone was playful, suggesting something unspoken.
Somehow, I understood what he was implying. I panicked, raising both my hands as if in surrender, unwilling to hear more of this, "No... I... better attend my classes..."
I had enough of this morning. There was no way I was going to escort him home. Besides, we barely knew each other. I just hoped someone would come to pick him up.
"If you say so..." He wore a smug expression before returning to what he was doing.
'We're not really a couple, though...' I thought to myself, too drained to argue.
I sighed and bowed, pocketing the papers the doctor had given me for the blonde before leaving the clinic.
Hahh... What a day.
Just a while ago, I entered the wrong room. And then what I thought was tea was actually Blonde's pheromones.
I couldn't even help myself and start—whatever.
I'm feeling warm again, now that I'm thinking about it again. Am I looking like a tomato right now...?
Seriously... Why was he even there in the first place?
I brought out the paper that I was holding and unfolded it.
Is it all alright for me to read this...?
I somehow had to look at my right and left before proceeding to peek at what the doctor had written.
It showed 'Severe Omega Heat' as the cause and there was it seemed like some medicines' names that I couldn't read at all.
I looked at the top of the paper which somehow caught my entire attention.
"Castiel Milner..."
———✦———
How much time has passed?
I glanced down at my wrist, where my trusty brown analog wristwatch told me all I needed to know. The school corridors were noticeably quieter now, most students already settled into their morning classes. Fewer people were rushing around, and the elevators seemed less crowded.
Well, I guess it's because it was already past 8:00. The hallways were eerily quiet now that classes had started.
I was making my way back to the clinic to deliver the paperwork approving Castiel Milner's—Blondie's—leave to go home and rest.
Great, I'm officially late.
I arrived early, but somehow I was still late? Damn.
Forget about being late, I'm not even heading to class yet.
I should probably let Redd and the others know so they don't freak out after what happened this morning.
I pulled out my phone and checked my messages. There were several from my friends, especially from Redd, who seemed to be on the verge of a meltdown with his stream of texts.
Raziel Obringer: Why are you not here yet? Not coming? Sir's already here.
Irwin Mckay: Hey, are you alright?
Redd Sinclair: Lieeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
I quickly typed out my replies.
To Raziel: will be there soon. js got caught up with smth
To Irwin: hey. yh im good. js going to be a lil late.
To Redd: ah srry, got some emergencies so. i'll b there soon.
Satisfied with my updates, I slipped my phone back into my pocket and hurried down the hall to the clinic. Pushing the door open, I raised the paper.
"Doc, here's the permit," I announced, stepping inside.
The doctor, mid-sip of his coffee, looked up and seemed to glance behind me, as if expecting something. His expression was troubled.
"Huh?" he said, setting his coffee down.
I felt a knot of unease form in my stomach. "Is there something wrong?" I asked, lowering the paper and glancing over to see what had caught his attention.
"Have you..." the doctor began, trailing off. He looked deeply concerned, which only made my anxiety spike.
"Yes?" I prompted, impatience creeping into my voice. I was already late for class and didn't need any more complications.
"Were you with... Mr. Milner?" he asked, his brows knitting together.
What?
Isn't Blondie supposed to be resting in the bed?
"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice edged with confusion.
The doctor took a deep breath, rubbing his mouth before resting his hand on his chin, clearly troubled. "I went to the bathroom for a while and came back to find him gone."
"What?" I blurted out, disbelief and panic rising in my chest. How could he have just disappeared? I had left him here, safe and sound—or so I thought
