One More day till Laura comes home!
Slowly but surely me and Chris became even closer! Lately, she is the only one I can talk to about my problems now that Laura is gone. Other than making a new friend literally nothing has happened you might think it would get exciting but no!! It’s just average everyday life.
My lunch break starts at noon every day and just like any other day, I was walking to the donut place I normally stop at, ordering the same thing until something pulled me by the back of my hoodie. What the hell?
I'm thrown to the ground, all my food going flying in all different directions. I look up at my offender.
“Sydney what the fuck?” I say and go to stand up, she pushes me down again.
“What did you do to Laura, where the hell is she?” she shouts at me face, several bystanders look our way.
“Calm the fuck down shes fine no thanks to you,” I say and finally stand up. She takes the front of my shirt and pushes me against the wall.
“Where is she?” she grips my shirt harder causing it to wrinkle. I snort
“Heh, Kinky,” she immediately drops my shirt.
“Where is she!” she shouts in my face, I can feel the spit hit my cheek.
“She at camp doofus,” I say brushing off my face and smoothing down my shirt. My shirt won’t unwrinkle, I frown.
“When will she be back?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“Just tell me dammit!” she shouts at my face
“No, I do not think I will,” I turn to walk away until she grabs the back of my shirt again. Jesus Christ.
“Please tell me, I literally just wanna know I don’t know why you’re being such an ass,” She pisses me off so much, the rage builds in my body the more she pleads asking over and over again. Without thinking I punch her in her throat. She's on the floor gasping for air.
“Stop asking when she's coming back, it’s not like she wants to see you ever again. You left her in so much pain, do you know how many times she cried to me telling me, ‘Syd is mad at me again’, ‘ She hasn’t said I love you in two whole months’. Do you know how much she cared for you? How she adored you? She fucking loved you and your piece of shit personality, she never wants to see you again. How hard is that to hear? Never talk to her or me, and if I find out you did, it will be more than a punch to the throat,” I’m fuming, and I end up walking all the way to the tattoo shop in record time. I drop to the ground and breathe out a sigh. Crap, I’m in big shit.
I stand back up and lock eyes with Chris across the room. When did she get here? She turns back to her book as if I wasn’t there. I let out another sigh. I walk to the front desk and sit down, taking my water bottle out of my backpack and taking a sip. I place it down. Silence fills the room. The buzzing tattoo in the background is the only thing making a sound. This is just like how our first conversation went. Heh.
“Why were you gone so long, and where are our donuts,” she looked up at me before quickly returning her gaze to her phone.
“I dropped them on the ground and uh didn’t bother going back,” I say to her, I don’t want anybody to know what happened earlier. My rage is something unrivaled, everyone in this town knows this–well maybe not Chris– but it's still unrivaled.
“Why didn’t you go back and get them, you know my dad pays more than enough to get donuts,” Chris says. This is the most words I've ever heard Chris speak, wow I’m honestly shocked. She must really like donuts
“Do you want me to go back?” I say pointing in the direction of the door.
“Yes but this time I’ll go with you, so you don’t drop all those good perfectly amazing donuts on the grounds,” A little gleam shines in her eye. Damn, she must really REALLY like donuts.
I shrug my shoulders and get up from my chair, before walking out the door she yells at me to wait
“I’m going to tell Dad we’re leaving, be up in a few,” she shouts at me. I pull out my phone.
“Okay let’s go!” She shouts from in front of me. I jump, when the hell did she get there?
We arrived at the donut place and to my surprise the donuts were cleaned up. I Wouldn’t be surprised if Syd ate it. At the thought, I snorted which made Chris throw a questioning look my way. We head inside, order are donuts, and sit down in front of the window. The whole time Chris doesn’t look up from her phone. Christ, now I know how Fluffy felt.
“So uhh whatcha doing on you’re phone?” she looks up at me.
“Oh nothing too much, my bo- uhh im mean my friend and I just text back and forth a lot. He’s having trouble with codding an app he’s making and I'm helping out,” she says and tucks her hair behind her ear. Today must be my lucky day, she’s never been so talkative before.
“That's cool! I’ve always wanted to get into coding but I just never had the chance to, you know?” she nods her head in response.
“Order 102, 2 strawberry donuts with sprinkles,” the cashier shouts.
“Oh!” Chris shoots up “That's mine,” she takes her order and sits back down
“You like sprinkles? What are you? Five?” I tease poking fun at her.
“Yeah only dumbasses don’t like sprinkles,” She says and practically inhales the donut. Damn.
“Then I’m the queen of dumbasses, sprinkles are horrible, especially the hard ones. Ugh, they make me gag,” almost actually doing so with the memory of eating them. She snorts and throws an eye-roll my way.
“Order 105, 2 large bags of donut bites,” that cashier shouts checking over the order again just to make sure they read the last part correct
“A-and sprite filled with strawberry jam?”
“That's me!” I get out of my chair and happily take the order from him. When I get back to the table, Chris looks at me like I'm the most disgusting and vile thing she's ever seen.
“Fucking Strawberry jam??? What are you alien??” she shouts at my face
“Yeah, my name is Bolckenshwart on my planet,” I cross my eyes and stick out my tongue. She laughs at me. Takes the phone in her hand and snaps a picture.
“Delete that!” I yell at her.
“Nope! Never!” She takes her phone and puts it in her pocket.
I take my bag of donuts and strawberry jam sprite and run after her. We run all the way to the tattoo shop both puffing for air, laughing our asses off.
“Shut up, I'm trying to work,” Tye shouts from the backroom.
We both snort and go back to our normal places, instead, we have the biggest smiles on our faces. I could get used to this….
