I prowled through the moonlit woods, my sleek white fur glistening in the bright light. Every movement in the bushes ahead put me on high alert, causing my ears to flick back and forth as I trotted through the forest the leaves slightly rustling as I walked through the undergrowth, it was eerily quiet as I stopped before a brook and took a quick drink. The cool water flowed gently around my muzzle as I lapped up the water my appearance slightly haggard and worn from days of travelling. I shook my head my fur rustling as I tried to ignore the memories of my people's screams and cries of the dying and the heartless cold-blooded ones who killed them. I looked up and took a glance around before continuing my long journey to find another pack for at least a night's shelter. My ears pin flat against my head. As I crouched low to the ground, my fur standing on end. The air carried a scent that smelled unfamiliar an Alpha and two other wolves most likely patrolling.
I crawled quietly through the brush and looked into a clearing seeing the three wolves of another pack the Alpha I smelled was well-muscled and had deep black fur and the other two were a mix of brown and black. It seemed they were communicating telepathically through their pack link when the slightly bigger brown wolf sniffed the air and looked in my direction. That is when I realized I was upwind and they had likely smelled me. The Brown wolf looked at the alpha and all three started making their way to my location in the brush. I internally cursed myself and panicking dashed back toward the creek from earlier but being ragged and wore the wolves easily caught up to me the Alpha pinning me down and growling his forepaws digging into my back harshly and I went limp in hopes he wouldn't hurt me. He must have realized I wasn't a threat and his growl slowly dwindled as he sniffed me.
"Who are you?! Why are you on our territory?" he demanded telepathically his deep voice brooking no argument.
"My name is Desmond, I'm just looking for somewhere to stay I'm not here to cause any trouble..." The other two wolves standing a little behind him glance at each other as if discussing something before they hesitantly leave probably sent away by the Alpha. "Also could please get off me you are more than a little heavy." I huff pointedly.
"Maybe I don't want to," the Alpha snapped but eventually complied. As I sat on my haunches and licked my fur, I narrowed my eyes at him. He observed me, noting, "You're small for a werewolf – an omega obviously. But what are you doing out here by yourself?"
"I'm the last of my pack.... we were attacked and they..." I paused looking down solemnly. He shifted into human form and approached me. His black hair matched his fur, and he had deep blue eyes and freckles. His well-built frame caught my attention, and as my gaze drifted lower, I abruptly looked away, embarrassed.
He chuckled, clearly noticing my gaze, and as I shifted as well, he gaped at me. With soft wavy blonde hair, one purple eye, one dark blue eye, and a prominent scar running from the corner of my mouth up the side of my face, I averted my eyes. Suddenly, I felt his firm grip on my shoulder, and as I looked at him, he smiled sadly.
"I'm sorry that happened to you and your pack but if you'd like can stay with us for the time being until you decide what you would like to do.'
Suspicious, I searched his eyes and inquired, "But I don't even know you or your name... why even help me in the first place?"
"Oh, sorry. My name is Sanka. I'm the son of the leader of the Titanium Pack. And well you lost your pack, you alone, and an omega that's a disaster waiting to happen especially if you come across a rouge or go into heat it's just the humane thing to do." he smiles softly. "What's your name?" he nervously asked, offering a sheepish grin. After a few seconds of scrutiny, I responded.
"My name is Desmond I'm an omega of the Wisp pack and the last" I pause. "Fine," I said, "I'll trust you but make one wrong move alpha and I will not hesitate to claw your face off".
