The figure shot more arrows and Kyros deflected them with his swords. He moved forward and slashed at it but it dodged backward.
Kyros, annoyed put 7 points into agility.
[System :Your agility has increased to level 10]
He darted closer to the figure and grabbed its cloak, removing it. The figure turned out to be a woman. She had pale, white skin and blonde hair and emerald eyes with pointy ears and soft white skin. She was an elf. He swung at her and broke her bow, rendering her defenseless. He pointed his sword at her.
"Who are you and who sent you?", he asked, seeming annoyed by the figure that disturbed his quest.
"What makes you think I should answer to you?", the elf asked sharply.
Kyros was dumbfounded. "Are you seriously asking that? Like… seriously. I have a sword pointed at your face. Your life depends on me. I could literally end you right here and now and you're asking what makes you think you should answer to me? Are you serious!?", he asked, his tone as cold as his blade. The elf was silent, now realising that the tables had turned.
"Exactly what I thought. Now answer my question.", he said even more serious than the previous time.
"My name is Eira Mistbloom. I'm the 7th generation guardian of this village.", she answered.
"7th generation? This place is real mess for a village that was built a few centuries back.", he stated.
"Actually it was built even longer before that. I've been guarding it for 200 years.", she corrected.
"What!? How old are you?", he asked, now confused.
"I'm 700 years old.", she replied while getting up.
Kyros became pale white in shock. (What the hell?)
[Notice: Elves live longer than humans.]
(That doesn't explain why she looks like a teenager.)
[Notice: I don't know... I see it happen a lot so...]
(Interesting...)
Seraphina, done putting her weapons into place, spoke. "Well… the average life expectancy for elves is 20 000 years
[Quest: Travel to the Elven kingdom.]
(What about the reward?)
[Quest: No reward.]
(But why? I need motivation to do the quest.)
[Quest Reward: Good exercise.]
(… I refuse.)
[Quest: Failure will result in death.]
(Honestly, that sounds like the better option.)
[Please.]
(Fine...)
"Take us to the Elven kingdom.", Kyros demanded.
"Why should I? Who are you to make demands? Do you know who I am?", she asked.
Moving his sword closer to her face he said. "None of your business."
"… Fine then.", Eira agreed.
The three journeyed to the Elven kingdom and as they reached the gates, the guards bowed.
"Good morning, Princess.", said the first guard.
"I hope you had a good trip.", said the second one.
"Good morning. My trip was fine. Thank you.", she replied.
(P-P-PRINCESS!?)
[Notice: Yes. Eira Mistbloom is the first-born daughter of Altheon and Namarie Mistbloom. Who are the 6th generation elf king and queen.]
"Wait, did they just call you princess?", asked Seraphina.
"Yes, I'm the daughter of the elf king and elf queen.", she replied.
Kyros remained shocked and in disbelief.
They arrived at the castle, more guards bowing. When they entered the castle they went to the throne room, where there were guards standing opposite each other in a straight line. The room was large, decorated in green golden metals and precious jewels, along with trees and flowers. A long green and gold carpet leading the way to the 2 thrones. In front, sat the king and queen on their separate thrones.
"Mother, father! I've returned."
"Oh my precious princess. You've returned. I hope you didn't get hurt. I see you've also brought some friends along.", King Altheon said, happy to see his daughter once again.
"I'm fine, father. But that human boy broke my bow and threatened me to bring him here."
Kyros pointed at himself, a confused expression on his face.
"Is that so? How dare you? State your name, human. So we may have your head for breaking my daughter's bow and threatening her."
[Passive Skill: Chosen One will be automatically activated. This skill activates randomly, usually when the user states their name. This skill also makes the user's aura increase.]
"My name is Kyros Brightblade."
An aura of blinding light illuminated from him as he spoke his name.
"That light… It can't be.", the queen said in shock.
"The aura of light that sparks brightly when one speaks their name… a- a chosen hero by the Goddess herself.", the king kneeled.
(This sounds like a dumb skill to be honest.)
[Notice: Dumb, but useful.]
Seraphina was also shocked. "You're the chosen one!?", she asked.
"Wait why are you shocked?", Kyros asked.
"Everyone else felt shocked and I didn't want to feel left out.", she replied.
"Oh…"
[Notice: She needs more screen time.]
(You're the author, not me.)
[Notice: Oh… right]
"Great chosen one. We ask that you help us. Please protect us against the dark lord's army.", the king asked.
"Aren't you the same guy who wanted to behead me before for breaking a silly bow?", he asked in a sharp, icy tone.
"Ah… yes…", King Altheon replied, sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Come on Kyros, we have to help them.", said Seraphina with her eyes only glinting for adventure.
"Well it's not like I 'have to' do it.", he replied as he rolled his eyes.
[Quest: Defend the Elf Kingdom from the Dark Lord's army.]
[Reward: Random Novel + Random Item]
"… Fine, I'll do it.", he reluctantly replied.
"Thank you great chosen one. My knight shall lead you to where the defence army is.", the queen said.
Seraphina, Kyros and Eira were led to the northern gate. Behind them was a large army of elven soldiers. In front, was a large army of monsters approaching. The elven soldiers were confused by the boy who stood in the frontlines. His aura glowed bright gold and that made them put their faith in him. The soldiers didn't know why, but his aura made them want to lay down their lives for him.
[Passive Skill: Chosen One has been activated, your aura has increased by 500 points.]
(Can you stop activating this skill randomly?)
[Notice: No, it adds depth to the story.]
(The story is already boring, why add depth?)
[Notice: You know what, never mind. See you next week everyone.]
(You can't just end the chapter here, what about the fight?)
[Notice: I said next week.]
End of Chapter 5.
(What kind of cliff-hanger is this?)
[Notice: How many times do I have to tell you to not speak when the chapter is over?]
(How many times do I have to... Yeah, I thought I was gonna have a good comeback, but I don't.)
[Notice: Sigh.]
