I stepped out of the car, breathing in the fresh air. The countryside stretched out before me, endless green fields and a sky that seemed bigger than anywhere else.
The sound of birds chirping in the distance and the rustling of trees made everything feel... peaceful. Familiar.
For a moment, I felt lighter, like I’d left all my worries behind. The village house stood there, just as it always had, unchanged by time.
The walls, the old swing in the yard—it was like stepping back into a memory. This place had a way of making everything else seem small and far away.
I hadn’t even realized how much I missed it until now.
As I walked toward the house, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
“Azer! Look who finally decided to show up!”
I turned and saw Swapan, my childhood friend, leaning against the gate with a grin on his face.
We hadn’t seen each other in months, but with Swapan, it always felt like no time had passed at all.
'Swapan!'
I called out, walking over to him.
“You look exactly the same. Haven’t changed a bit.”
He laughed, shaking his head.
“I could say the same about you. How’s life? Still playing the good student, huh?”
I shrugged, smiling.
'Yeah, you know me. Same old routine.'
Swapan raised an eyebrow.
“You look different, though. A little taller, a little wiser maybe?”
'Or maybe just more tired,' I joked.
We stood there for a moment, just soaking in the feeling of being back in the village, like the years that had passed didn’t matter.
“You staying for long?” Swapan asked.
'Yeah, for a bit,' I replied.
'Family’s all getting together. It should be...interesting.'
Swapan gave me a knowing look, his smile fading slightly.
"Yeah, I heard there’s been some tension between your dad and uncle."
I glanced away, the light feeling in my chest slipping just a little. “Yeah, I noticed.”
The village house stood there, just as it always had, unchanged by time. The walls, the old swing in the yard—it was like stepping back into a memory.
This place had a way of making everything else seem small and far away. I hadn’t even realized how much I missed it until now.
But I was tired. My body felt heavy from the long journey, and before I knew it, I found myself lying down on the old bed in my room. The moment my head hit the pillow, sleep took over.
(That’s when the nightmare began.)
I wasn’t sure when it started, but suddenly, I was somewhere dark, cold. The air was thick, pressing down on my chest.
I stood in the middle of a field, surrounded by silence—an eerie, suffocating silence.
In the distance, I saw her. A figure lying on the ground, still and dying slowly.
I went closer, she looked at me with sorrowful eyes and said,
"This is All for u love, Azer live your life to its fullest, don't look back at me, maybe in another life we will meet and live a happy life"
My heart dropped. I tried to move, but every step was a struggle, like I was sinking into the earth with each step.
Who was she? How does she know my name?
Her face was blurred, like looking through a haze.
All I could remember was a small mole near her lip, just on the edge of her cheek. It stood out against her pale skin, drawing my attention as panic set in.
Then I saw the blood. Dark and spreading around her. My stomach twisted. She was dying, and I didn’t even know who she was.
My heart pounded, my legs refused to move, and I couldn’t even call out. I was frozen, helpless as her hand twitched, reaching for me.
