Val
Valorie moved the bookshelf away from the wall to dust behind it, Ross had always done this when cleaning. Val had never understood why he did that, it would be fine to leave the dust there if you don’t plan to move the bookshelf entirely. But since she was trying to clean how he did, she had to do this too.
Suddenly the door creaked open slowly and she flinched, a few seconds later she watched it close itself. Val paused and slid the bookshelf back to its proper place. She rubbed her eyes,
“My lack of sleep is clearly getting to me.” Valorie groaned as she sat down against the shelf, she had no idea how Ross cleaned this entire manor alone. It’d been eating up her time too much in the past few days, so she had decided to have a cleaning crew do it for her instead. Ross had left so much money that the idea wasn’t as daunting as it typically would be.
Val suddenly felt something hit her knee quite hard. She yelped and got up. There was nothing in the room aside from some bookshelves, dust, and herself. She frowned as she looked at the ground, there was a strange shadow on the ground. Similar to that of a person, despite it not being her shadow. The shadow moved around the room by itself before going to the door, opening it and leaving.
Once the shadow left the room Valorie released the breath of air that she hadn’t realized she was holding.
“What was that?!” Val exclaimed with a scared but interested tone, she’d always liked scary movies, and with that just happened, it seemed like she was about to be in one… Minus the movie part.
